Unexpected stars Bella Vaughn and Hunter Johnson just took another very grown-up step in their relationship– despite only being 16 and 14 years old, respectively.
On Tuesday, Bella announced via TikTok that she and Hunter are now engaged.
No, seriously…
In a video set to the song “Mom of Boys,” Bella first shows off a promise ring she had previously received from Hunter, and then an engagement ring as the lyrics, “Now the best thing about my left hand is a ring on it from the right man” play.
“From promise ring to engagement ring, I’ll forever love you Hunter, Wesley and I can’t wait to spend the rest of our lives together,” Bella captioned the video, along with the hashtags “engagment” (spelled wrong, naturally), as well as “15andpregnant” and “fiance.”
Bella has limited who can comment on the post.
The couple— who had conceived their son Wes when Bella was 14 and Hunter was only 12— has arguably caused more controversy than any other couple to appear on the TLC reality show. From the multiple pending court cases between their parents for custody of Hunter and Wes, to Bella’s frequent on-air conversations about everything from anal sex, to showering with Hunter, to wanting another baby— the couple (and their parents) is already getting a large amount of online hate for their actions, which many feel are far too grown-up for kids their age.
Hunter and Bella have been together since late 2023. (Bella became pregnant with Wesley during the summer of 2024.) Currently, Hunter’s father Casey Johnson is fighting Hunter’s mom Stacie Riddle in court for full custody of Hunter. He is also fighting Bella’s mom Falen Vaughn for full custody of baby Wesley. Both cases are pending.
Although Hunter and Bella are engaged, their ages will prevent them from actually being able to get married, even with parental consent. In Arkansas, you must be at least 17 years old to get married, even with parental consent. Currently, Arkansas law states that both parents of the potential bride, and both parents of the potential groom must provide legal consent before a marriage license will be issued. (The only exception to this rule is if one of the parents has no custody of the minor.)
Even with parental consent, the court can still rule against issuing a marriage license to minors if the judge decides the marriage is not in the child(ren)’s best interest and/or the parent giving their consent is ruled “not fit to make decisions” concerning the child.
The parents of Hunter and Bella have not yet commented publicly regarding the couple’s engagement.

Back when my mom was pregnant with me, TLC had a show called a baby story. That was still when they had somewhat better programming, though. People liked that show, it was informative but also interesting. That was also before TLC jumped on the MTV gotta get that money anyway we can train.
Yeah we all love trash tv, we all rubberneck, we all love drama (don’t pretend you don’t, lol). BUT, there should be a line we decide is off limits. Any sort of child abuse, neglect, grooming, sexualization, and other such heinous things ought to be on the side of the fence we don’t cross.
TLC crossed that fence line a long time ago and never looked back. This show is a perfect example of them doubling down(tripling down even) on the exploitation and continued abuse of children purely for profit. This particular case should be the red flag that gets this shit shut down… and yet it’s not, wtf
I am glad there is at least one judge that can see this shit forest through the shit trees and is actually willing to do what’s right. Let’s hope they continue on this path so the can not only help,but probably also save not just Hunter and Wes but also Bella(especially since she seems to think she doesn’t need it). Gotta have hope that someone, somewhere can save all three.

I was CRUSHED, as a teen girl would be, and we dated for a year and a half (which felt like eternity at the time of course).
I am 36 now and think back like “wow he was pretty smart”.
I hope they realize that flashing a ring from Temu and saying you are engaged to a 14 year old will be the final nail in the coffin of the custody case. I’m actually glad that Falen and Stacey are this stupid because it helps Casey’s case. I’m sure Falen and Stacey are celebrating. Two of the shittiest parents ever on Unexpectd.
This family is far too stupid to understand this. I doubt they even put more than 3 seconds of thought into this before they went and bought that $20 Walmart ring.
I can imagine the mothers are behind this. Thinking it will help alienate Hunter from Casey, and keep him and Bella together. When really it looks like more proof Casey’s lawyer can use to prove what an unsafe environment Hunter is in with his mom and freaky Fallon.
Fallon is the mastermind behind all of this and Stacie isn’t in her right mind to know what’s going on. She even said she didn’t know they were having sex until Bella was pregnant. It was falons scheming to get them pregnant and she didn’t even share that info with hunters mom. Only Larry “Kris”’s dad..

If I were Casey, I would pray no one takes Tik Tok or a keyboard away from this family. This is gold for him. I really have no words for this family. If these parents were in the right frame of mind, they would not allow her on any form of social media but again, she is a product of this environment.

They are all making Casey’s case for full custody for him. I hate that there is a baby in the middle of this because Casey needs to get Hunter as far away from these people are possible.

This is out of control. Police need to be involved as does CPS. this is not normal behavior and indicates child grooming by an adult. A 14 year old boy does not buy an engagement ring or even think about marriage. He doesn’t have the maturity yet. It’s not even possible.

She wants to be in a some-kinda-ship with Hunter. Keeping him with Bella keeps him close to her. It will not shock me if it comes out in a few years that they had sexual contact with each other. Check back on this post when he’s 18 and see what’s happened.
