Lindsie Chrisley claims her DUI arrest on Saturday was due to her swerving to avoid hitting a car that hit an animal (or something), but, according to the officer who apprehended the Chrisley Knows Best star that night, Lindsie’s alleged slurring, speeding and driving into the incoming traffic lane were the reason he hauled her into jail!
According to the arrest report exclusively obtained by The Ashley on Tuesday, the Cherokee County officer who arrested Lindsie stated that he clocked Lindsie going 86 mph— something she admitted to at first but then recanted. He also claims that the podcaster had the smell of alcohol on her breath, was slurring her words and “was making statements that did not make sense.”
The officer claims that authorities were alerted of a reckless driver heading northbound, causing authorities to put out a “Be On The Lookout” (BOLO) alert for the dark-colored Ford Bronco, which was reportedly “seen speeding, tailgating and flashing their high beams.” The car also reportedly passed another vehicle on the double-yellow lines.
Another officer soon located the vehicle “doing a high rate of speed…going northbound” while that officer was going southbound on the road. The officer stated he reviewed the Flock cameras in the area and determined Lindsie’s Ford Bronco was the only one that matched the description of the vehicle mentioned in a 911 call made about 15 minutes before.
Both officers headed toward where Lindsie’s car was, and one stated that Lindsie did not pull over when he activated his siren.
“The vehicle had fled from him at a high rate of speed after he had activated his emergency lights and had turned around to catch up to it,” the arrest report reads.
Soon, the other officer came across Lindsie’s car and recognized it as the same one that had fled from the first officer and had the BOLO alert out on it.

The second officer tried to get Lindsie to stop but claims she “did not immediately yield to the right but continued past multiple suitable stopping locations” before she finally stopped at a gas station.
The officer approached Lindsie’s car and, due to the fact that she had allegedly fled before, he demanded that she exit her car.
“I asked if she knew why she was pulled over and she stated she did not,” he wrote, adding that she then immediately began to blurt out the explanation she eventually gave to TMZ.
“Lindsie stated, ‘Yeah because they almost hit a deer…the car in front of me…I had to swerve around them,'” the officer wrote.

“I asked if that was why Lindsie was driving at 86 miles per hour and she replied, ‘Yes, that is exactly why,'” the officer wrote, adding that she also claimed the vehicle in front of her had “brake-checked” her.
Lindsie then recanted her admission that she had been driving 86 mph and claimed she had not been going that fast.
She went on to explain that she pulled into the neighborhood she had been in and Lindsie stated that the mother of her passenger, Travis Evans, lives in that neighborhood. (A man named Beau Coley is also listed on the report, so it’s likely he was also in the car but The Ashley can’t confirm that.)
However, when the officer asked Lindsie if they had visited Travis’ mother, she said no, but then stated that she had picked up Travis and taken him to his mom’s house “because she was dying.”
“I found this to be confusing because she had previously stated they did not visit his mother,” the officer wrote.

Upon talking with Lindsie, the officer noted that he suspected she was under the influence of alcohol.
“I noted the smell of alcohol coming from her breath, her speech was slurred and she was making statements which did not make sense,” the officer wrote. “This led me to believe Lindsie was under the influence of an intoxicating substance which I believed to be alcohol.”
The officer claims he then asked Lindsie to take a field sobriety test but she refused. After her refusal, Lindsie was placed under arrest and charged with DUI, reckless driving, speeding, illegal passing and attempting to elude.
The officer cuffed Lindsie (but noted that he was unable to double-lock the cuffs due to Lindsie’s “small wrists.”

The officer wrote that he then asked Lindsie to submit to a chemical test of her blood but she refused. Soon, though, Lindsie asked if she could now do the field sobriety test.
“I informed her that she was already under arrest and reminded her she had already refused so she would not be given an opportunity to complete the [field sobriety] evaluations.”
The officer stated that, because Lindsie had refused the chemical test of her blood, he filled out the Administrative License Suspension Form.

The officer stated that, after Lindsie was dropped off at the detention center, he reviewed footage taken by the intersection camera and, at one point, saw Lindsie’s car “completely travel over the double-yellow and into the incoming lanes of travel before disappearing out of frame.”
As The Ashley told you, Lindsie told TMZ that she planned to “fight” her charges and that she was simply trying to avoid hitting a car and/or animal on the road.
“I got pulled over speeding past a car on a two-lane road because they almost hit an animal and I was trying to miss hitting them and whatever the animal was,” she told the site.
Lindsie did not offer any explanation as to why she was charged with DUI. She has not made any other social media posts since the arrests.
