Jen Edwards, the mother of “Teen Mom” star Ryan Edwards, is being praised by fans online for stepping in to care for Ryan and wife Amanda Conner’s daughter Presley following Amanda’s recent arrest for DUI and child abuse/neglect. Jen also seemed to be acknowledging that she is frequently the one left to “pick up the pieces” regarding chaos surrounding Ryan & Co.
As The Ashley told you, Amanda was arrested on Sunday after Ryan called the police on her for fleeing in a car with Presley while Ryan suspected Amanda was under the influence of drugs. Ryan also claimed that Amanda– who has insisted for months that she is sober, despite exhibiting some bizarre behavior– had not slept for two days when she was finally apprehended by cops.
While Amanda has since been released from jail– after posting a $16,000 bond and being fitted with an ankle monitor– one of the conditions of her release forbids her from having contact with Presley. (This is due to Presley being in the car when Amanda was arrested for DUI, making Presley the alleged victim of her child abuse/neglect charge). Amanda is not scheduled to appear in court until June 3, meaning she will likely be restricted from having any contact with Presley until at least then.
On Monday, Jen posted a photo of Ryan and Amanda’s daughter to social media, seemingly confirming to fans online that she (and presumably, her husband Larry Edwards) are caring for Presley following Amanda’s latest legal mishap.
Jen’s post was met with many supportive comments from ‘Teen Mom’ fans– some of whom dubbed her the “best Mimi ever.”
“Always picking up the pieces!” one person wrote, which Jen later “hearted” in the comment section. “Stay strong.”
“Thank you Grandma Jen. Best Mimi Ever,” another fan commented, with someone else writing, “I’m glad she’s safe with Mimi.”
As The Ashley told you on Monday, a day after Ryan made the call to cops that led to Amanda’s arrest, Amanda called the police on him, during which she alleged that her husband has a history of physically abusing her. (Ryan’s ex-wife Mackenzie Standifer made similar accusations in the past, including in 2024 when she filed for a protective order against Ryan, which was eventually granted.)
In response to Jen’s recent post featuring Presley, some ‘Teen Mom’ fans noted that this latest incident with Ryan and Amanda isn’t the first time that Jen and Larry have found themselves in a situation where they need to step in on their son’s behalf, with some comments hinting at Ryan’s past addiction and legal issues.
(As you may remember, Ryan and Amanda happened to meet while the two were at court-ordered rehab for drug addiction. They went on to conceive their daughter and later tied the knot after Ryan’s divorce from Mackenzie was finalized.)
“Phew man – Larry and MiMi Jen have been through it,” read one comment, with another person writing, “Mimi Jen and Larry need a lot more credit than they get.”
“So much love to y’all!” someone else wrote. “You guys are truly the most amazing parents/grandparents!”
In addition to caring for Presley, Jen and Larry appear to maintain a close relationship with their other grandchildren, with Jen frequently posting photos of Ryan and Mackenzie’s children Stella and Jagger, as well as Bentley, whose mom is Ryan’s ex Maci Bookout. Currently, Ryan and Mackenzie’s kids are only allowed to have their visits with Ryan while staying at Jen and Larry’s home.

These are the people who “parented” Ryan and this is the result.
Something never sat right with me about these two. It’s like they’re desperate for a do over kid, because they enabled the first one and he turned out terribly.

It’s really interesting to look at the parallels between Jenelle and Amanda, David and Ryan, and Barbara and Jen and the reaction that people have to them. It’s eye opening how classist people can be without realizing it.
Jenelle and Amanda both lost custody of their kids and the grandparent was raising them.
David and Ryan are both known to kill animals and drive recklessly and be terrible fathers. David gets called out for it consistently, as he should. While Ryan got a redemption arc on TM.
Barbara and Jen both raised Jenelle and Ryan and Barbara had to raise Jace and Jen may have to raise Presley. The difference is that Barbara was a single mother of 3 working at Walmart while Jen was married, had money and got to be a stay at home mom. But somehow Barbara gets more hate than Jen.
Ryan won’t be happy until he either kills someone and is sent to prison for life, or if he dies from an overdose. He is a menace, and he screws up all his relationships. His mother and father have protected him and enabled him, and always have blamed the women he was with instead of him. He will never change, he is just a very bad person who has no redeeming qualities at all.
I mean, mimi jen’s always wanted a girl..I do kinda wonder how Amanda feels that Jen is now perma-mommy. But then again, is she fighting to get her back, doing whatever she can? No, she’s making TikToks trashing Rhine. Priorities girl

These people really need to be fixed so they can’t breed. I really feel sorry for the children. They are all very selfish, miserable people. The children don’t deserve to have parents who are so worthless raising them.
We all knew Presley would end up with Jen and Larry, but what about Amanda’s son? Where does he go now? Is his step-grandma still up for taking care of him? I hope he isn’t still in Amanda’s custody. She bragged about getting him back in Jenelle-like fashion and here we are.

I saw something on tiktok that a cousin had custody before he was reunited with Amanda, and they were still in the little boy’s life. Hopefully if they’re a stable and safe home, he is back there.

The baby is safe and that’s the most important thing with this mess. Hopefully Amanda’s son is somewhere safe too. The result of all of the enabling of Ryan through the years is Larry and Jen doing parenthood 2.0 when they’re supposed to be enjoying their golden years. They’ll be in their 70’s dealing with a teenager. Maybe THIS will finally be the wake up call Ryan needed, but not holding out hope that he’ll stop being an all around waste of space turd. And there might be messy custody battles with Amanda in the future. Amanda couldn’t stay on the right path for her kids and that is heartbreaking. She didn’t change her ways after losing custody of her son. She’s up there with Janelle and Amber for being a crappy “mom”.
