More than seven months after her husband, Garrick Merrifield, was arrested for domestic violence against her, Lorrana Merrifield is celebrating a new place to live and a “fresh start.”
As fans of ‘Seeking Sister Wife’ know, Lorrana joined Garrick and sister wife Dannielle’s family in October 2024 when she married the father of three. In November 2025, the trio announced that Lorrana had given birth to Garrick’s fourth child in July, daughter Sarah Mae, though just a few weeks later, Garrick was arrested for obstruction of telephone services and domestic violence against Lorrana.
While Lorrana, who is from Brazil, confirmed in January that she and Garrick had reconciled, she went on to post a series of alarming videos and comments in March that left fans concerned for her well-being. The following month, she hinted on social media that she was taking steps to leave her marriage, even revealing to fans that she was seeking a family attorney.
Last month, Lorrana continued to reveal details about the status of her marriage online, confirming that she was no longer living in Garrick and Dannielle’s home, but calling her current situation “very difficult.”
On Wednesday, Lorrana shared a positive update with fans on Instagram, posting a photo of herself and her daughter holding a house key, as well as a photo of an empty apartment. In her caption, Lorrana revealed to fans that she has officially moved out on her own and is getting a fresh start, free from Garrick and Dannielle.
“Sometimes, starting over means starting from scratch. And that’s okay,” Lorrana wrote. “Today, I can finally say that my daughter and I have a place to call home. It’s not our forever home yet, and it doesn’t have everything we dream of. Right now, there’s still so much we need. But it represents something money could never buy: a fresh start.
“This place is more than just an address,” she continued. “It’s where I’ll rebuild my life, one day at a time. It’s where I’ll slowly create a home, piece by piece, celebrate every little milestone, make new memories, and turn these four walls into a place filled with love.
“Starting over is never easy,” she added. “It’s scary, uncertain, and it asks more of us than we ever thought we could give. But sometimes life leads us down paths we never planned, and all we can do is keep moving forward.”
Lorrana went on to credit her daughter for helping her discover a version of herself she “never knew existed” and for helping her continue believing that “it’s always possible to rebuild.”
“Today, I’m not celebrating the finish line,” Lorrana wrote. “I’m celebrating the courage to begin again … This is just the beginning of a new chapter, and I can’t wait to share this journey with all of you, one step at a time.”
Later on Wednesday, Lorrana returned to social media to thank fans for their kind and encouraging messages and for being with her “during this season.” She also shared on her Instagram Story that she plans to create an Amazon Wishlist at some point (which she said fans had been asking her about) and that she will post the link once she determines what she may need for her new place.
In a follow-up Instagram Story, she reflected on her move, telling fans that while it “may seem like a small achievement” to some, to her “it’s so much more than that.”
“It came at exactly the right time, just as God intended,” she wrote. “Today, my heart is full. I’m happy and deeply grateful because I overcame one of many battles along this journey. And with God by my side, I’ll keep moving forward– one step, one victory, and one day at a time.”
Neither Garrick nor Dannielle appear to have commented on Lorrana’s move; however, in Dannielle’s recently updated Instagram bio, she describes herself as a “mom of three amazing children” while making no mention of Garrick and Lorrana’s daughter. Dannielle also refers to herself in her bio as the “official wingwoman to [her] husband.”

I happy for her for leaving but she’s dumb to get into the situation. He’s a gross man. There’s no saving Dannielle.
Good for Loranna. I hope Garrick (aka Ick) and his long-suffering ex-wife Dannielle are paying child support, at the very least.
How sad for Sarah to have such a POS as a father.
