A Marriage Proposal, Making Weird AI Music & More: TLC Releases “1000-lb. Sisters” Season 9 Trailer

“I ain’t sure why they call our show a dumpster fire…this clearly ain’t no dumpster.”

Get ready for another round of sibling shenanigans– Tammy and Amy Slaton are back for another season of “1000-lb. Sisters.”

After a season mostly marred by the sisters’ seemingly endless squabbling, fans will watch in Season 9 as Tammy and Amy work to get their relationship back to where it once was.

“Me and Tammy, we’re taking things slow. We’re still rebuilding trust,” Amy says in the Season 9 trailer, with Tammy adding, “It’s going to take time to get that bond back.”

Clearly the sisters’ firm grasp of the English language remains, though….

While it may take some time for Tammy and Amy to repair their bond, it appears that another Slaton sister wedding may be just around the corner. In the Season 9 trailer, fans see Tammy’s girlfriend Andrea Dalton surprise her with a marriage proposal, which she goes on to accept.

Unfortunately, it isn’t all smooth sailing for the brides-to-be, as they quickly learn that building a future together is more difficult than they expected.

“To have, to hold, and to keep your sodies cold…”

“As the couple navigates relationship growing pains, questions about independence, and winning over Andrea’s friends, Tammy is also determined to keep pushing herself outside her comfort zone, taking on memorable new experiences, including horseback riding and other exciting firsts,” the press release for Season 9 reads.

Viewers can also look forward to watching Tammy and brother Chris Combs team up while focusing on their physical health and wellness.

“Me and Tammy are going to the gym,” Chris says in the trailer. “We’re big, but I’m pretty sure it’s all muscle.”

“Y’all let us know if ya want us to lead a Zumba class or somethin’…”

As her brother and sister work up a sweat, Amy continues to make strides in her own weight-loss journey, even pursuing skin-removal surgery in the upcoming season.

Like Tammy, Amy is also committed to branching out and trying new things, with cameras following along in Season 9 as she learns how to drive and dabbles in the world of AI music, while dreaming of one day performing the tunes in her own voice.

“I started writing AI-generated music,” Amy explains, as viewers watch her crank out songs on her computer.

These tunes will play nightly in my nightmares…

While Amy is determined to turn her hobby into a real music career– complete with music videos and live performances– some members of her family doubt her “natural talent. ”

“If you use AI to do anything, you didn’t do it,” Chris says of his sister’s musical aspirations.

Meanwhile, Amy isn’t letting her doubters get her down or deter her from delivering her digital ditties.

“When I get rich and famous, don’t come crying to me,” Amy says. “Do not darken my doorstep.”

“…or I’ll ask ChatGPT to ‘write’ a diss track about ya!”

The new season of “1000-lb Sisters” premieres September 1 on TLC. Watch the trailer for the upcoming season below.

  1. If this is what will replace of Baylen Out Loud, I’ll be screwed for something to watch on Tues night.

  2. I know Tammy is problematic, but I can’t help but find her humor hilarious and always find myself rooting for her. She has come such a long way, and looks great. I hope life continues to change for her for the better and she gets to experience all those firsts she missed out on.
