Tammy Slaton and her fiancée Andrea Dalton are setting the record straight following recent speculation from “1000-lb. Sisters” fans that Tammy may be physically abusing her future spouse.
While Tammy has often been criticized by fans for the way she treats Andrea, that concern recently escalated online after an episode from Season 9 showed Andrea with multiple bruises along her forearm. A number of people on social media noted that the pattern of Andrea’s bruising looked as though it could have been caused by someone forcefully grabbing her, with some going on to point the blame at Tammy.
On Monday, Tammy and Andrea hopped online to address the concerns, which Tammy prefaced by telling fans, “I know I don’t have to do this, but I’m going to.”
“I’m going to address issues of me apparently beating Andrea,” Tammy went on to say, before turning her camera to Andrea.
Andrea proceeded to hold out her (previously bruised) arm to the camera, while she and Tammy pointed out that she did not have any markings or bruises at this time. Andrea then assured fans that she would never tolerate someone physically abusing her. Furthermore, Andrea insisted that she has not put her hands on Tammy either. (Andrea explained in the video that bruising Tammy previously had on her face was due to a dental procedure, not domestic violence.)
“I would never hit Tammy, I would never hit anybody,” Andrea said. “Like, I’m just not that type of person and I hope you guys understand that, I really do … neither one of us are gonna beat the hell out of each other.
“Yeah, we might, you know, cuss and carry on, but who don’t?” she continued. “If you say you don’t, you lying.”
After setting the record straight, Andrea proceeded to ask fans to “please stop” accusing Tammy of being physically abusive towards her, insisting that it’s “nowhere near the truth.” As for Tammy, she told fans that it “blows [her] mind” to have these allegations thrown at her. However, she also admitted that, during filming for Season 9, she was “going through a bunch of mental health issues.”
“I still am,” she said. “I’m trying to get better.”
Tammy then provided fans with a (somewhat flimsy) explanation behind Andrea’s bruises.
“The bruises y’all seen– the ‘bruises’– were not from me,” Tammy stated. “[Andrea] has a condition … that’s caused from stress, she gets it on her legs, too. So if you see her out and about and you see her leg is wrapped up, it’s cause she’s having a breakout. It’s not from me … it’s a medical condition, it’s not from me. You can look it up.”
While Tammy encouraged concerned fans to look up Andrea’s alleged medical condition, she did not provide the official name of the condition. Tammy also chose, for some reason, not to ask Andrea to clarify what her medical condition is, despite Andrea sitting just two feet away from her in the video.

I don’t think Tammy is physically abusive, but I do think she’s 100% mentally and emotionally abusive toward Andrea, and honestly, for Andrea’s sake, I wish she would walk away.
And maybe Tammy forgot, but I’m pretty sure Andrea showed us her legs last season. It looked incredibly painful, and she said in a confessional that her flares are triggered by STRESS and that she “couldn’t take it” unless Tammy got help.
So no, Tammy may not have caused whatever condition Andrea has, but she absolutely seems to stress Andrea out to the point that it contributes to her flares.
I’ve been with my husband 13 years and neither of us has ever cussed each other out. Ever. That is not just a normal/acceptable thing in my mind
I happen to work with one of these ladies neighbors… 🤣 let’s just say they aren’t so fond of em!
