Christine Brown is coming clean about the fate of her engagement ring from ex-husband Kody Brown, nearly five years after the spouses split.
In a clip from Sunday’s Season 21 premiere, Christine reveals to husband David Woolley that at some point– presumably after she and Kody decided to end their spiritual union, though the exact date is unclear– she decided to remove her engagement ring and throw it into a field.
“ … I got home from church and I took off my ring and I hucked it into the field,” she says.
As she continues telling her hunk-of-metal-hucking story, Christine confirms that the ring she tossed into a field was her engagement ring, specifically the “Claddagh ring” that Kody proposed to her with. As fans of ‘Sister Wives’ likely remember, Kody and each of his wives donned Irish Claddagh rings during their marriage, with some of the Brown kids also receiving the rings as gifts.
Christine then explained to David that, while Kody popped the question to her with the Claddagh ring, the ring didn’t actually have a diamond in it, although Kody, Janelle and Meri’s Claddagh rings did.
“ … I was like, ‘Can you put a diamond in my Claddagh ring?’ and [Kody] was like, ‘You know, we just don’t have enough money for that,’ and all this stuff,” Christine recalled.
Despite Kody shutting down her request to add bling to her ring, Christine said she later learned that Kody had actually splurged on some jewelry for another one of his wives– namely his fourth (and now only) wife, Robyn Brown.
“ … one day, we were sitting in church after he met Robyn and she sat there and she had this ring, this pretty ring,” Christine said. “I’m like, ‘Oh, that’s pretty,’ and she goes, ‘Yeah, Kody just grabbed it one day and he put a diamond in it.’ I’m like, ‘He put a diamond in a ring of yours?’ and she was like, ‘Yeah, it was the sweetest thing.’ And I just started fuming.”
Christine’s engagement ring story comes just weeks after the Season 21 trailer of ‘Sister Wives’ showed all three of Kody’s ex-wives reuniting to melt down “all the jewelry from the ex-husband” they once shared.
This also comes nearly three years after Meri became visibly upset during the Season 18 Tell-All after learning that Christine revealed on-camera that Kody had melted down the ring Meri gave him at their 1990 wedding. (Mind you, Kody did this before he and Meri officially ended their marriage.)
Christine revealed Meri’s private story during the Tell-All after host Sukanya “Suki” Krishnan asked her to give her thoughts on the spiffy new ring Kody had been rocking that season. When Suki noted that Meri appeared especially affected by Kody’s new ring, Christine proceeded to reveal that Kody had melted down the ring Meri gave him when they got married. According to Christine, the marriage band melting occurred after Kody met Robyn, but before he and Robyn got married.
“He melted down [his] ring [from Meri],” Christine revealed. “Saved the gold, saved the diamonds. Meri found out. She was like, ‘Well, where’s my ring [I gave you]? You don’t wear it anymore.’ And he’s like, “Oh, I melted it down.’ Just like that.”
While Meri claimed to be “extremely frustrated” that Christine told the private story on-camera, Christine wasn’t actually the first to reveal the information publicly. As The Ashley told you in 2015, the person who infamously catfished Meri told the ring melting story in a blog post while pretending to be “Sam Cooper,” whom Meri was led to believe was a man, but was actually a woman named Jackie Overton.
In the blog post, “Sam” (aka Jackie) insisted that Kody’s actions had been “the last straw” for Meri, as it “showed her how much the marriage meant to him, which was nothing.”
Season 21 of ‘Sister Wives’– on which Kody and Robyn will not appear– premieres Sunday, October 4 on TLC.

Sorry to be graphic, but Sobbyn rilly had to do something special in the s*x department that he wasn’t getting from his other wives. That’s all I can come up with. The other wives were and are much more attractive, and don’t fake crying at every turn.
