On the heels of a dramatic– and shortened– season of ‘The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives,’ Hulu has revealed the cast of the upcoming spinoff, ‘The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives: Orange County.’
Premiering next month, ‘Mormon Wives: OC’ will follow a (mostly) new group of young mothers living in Orange County, California, “where beliefs are not just their religion; they are their identity.”
“While some defend their way of life, fighting against modernity, others embrace change, becoming a platform to disrupt the status quo,” the synopsis for the show reads. “Scandals and secrets will be revealed, facades will crumble, and families and new friendships will change forever on both sides of the battlefield as this group of strong, game-changing influencers comes together to build the answer to #MomTok.”
While the upcoming series will introduce viewers to a new #MomTok group, fans will also get to follow OG ‘Mormon Wives’ star Jen Affleck, who has made her way to the West Coast to join the spin-off.
Jen, who’s originally from Northern California, has starred on ‘Mormon Wives’ since Season 1. She also competed on ‘Dancing With the Stars’ alongside now-former ‘Mormon Wives’ star Whitney Leavitt. She shares three– soon to be four– children with her (somewhat polarizing) husband, Zac.
Also starring on the spin-off is McCall DaPron, a married mom of four who, like many of her castmates, was born in Orange County.
If McCall looks familiar to ‘Mormon Wives’ fans, it’s because she bears a striking resemblance to her older sister, Mayci Neeley, who’s starred on the show since Season 1. McCall also made a brief appearance alongside her sister in Season 5 of ‘Mormon Wives.’
Joining Jen and McCall on ‘Mormon Wives: OC’ are: Ashleigh Pease, a mom of four who’s originally from Australia; Aspyn Ovard of Orange County; Avery Woods, a mom of two; and Bobbi Althoff, a mom of two from Salt Lake City, Utah.
Rounding out the cast of the spin-off are: Jordan McClanahan, a mom of four from Orange County; Madison Fisher, a mom of five, who’s also from Orange County; and Salomé Andrea, a mom of three who’s originally from Guam.
One Mormon mom and wife who fans may not see in the upcoming series is Chandler Higginson. While she appeared alongside (almost all of) the ‘Mormon Wives: OC’ cast at Hulu’s ‘Get Real’ event back in April, Chandler wasn’t featured in Hulu’s cast video this week, nor did her name appear in the official press release for the spin-off.
Many online clocked Chandler’s absence from the cast lineup this week, with one fan asking, “where’s our girl,” and another claiming that Chandler was the cast member they were “most excited” to watch on the spin-off.
Fans weren’t the only ones to react to Chandler’s omission from the cast lineup, with Chandler herself commenting, “Oh wait….” on Hulu’s post.
“@chandlerhigginson waitt…….,” cast member Madison replied, with Chandler’s husband, Dylan Higginson, adding, “Hold up…”
After a fan in the comments asked for details about the situation with Chandler, Chandler revealed that her story will be shared “in due time.”
