Transgender ‘Love & Hip Hop’ Star Sydney Starr Arrested for Aggravated Child Molestation, Battery & Sodomy

Sidney during her ‘Love & Hip Hop: New York’ days…

Trigger Warning: This story contains mentions of sex crimes against children.

Sidney Starr— a reality TV personality who has appeared on shows such as ‘Love & Hip Hop: New York,’ ‘Dollhouse’ and the ‘Baddies’ franchise— has been arrested and charged with aggravated child molestation, sodomy and sexual battery against a child under 16.

TMZ broke the news on Monday, one day after Sidney was arrested and taken to Fulton County Jail, where she was booked as a male. (Sidney is transgender and uses she/her pronouns.) She is currently still behind bars as of press time under her legal name, Sidney Favors.

According to TMZ, Sidney was picked up at the Embassy Suites hotel in Hapeville, Georgia, after allegedly confessing to performing oral sex on a minor at the hotel. Sidney claimed that the act was consensual; however, the victim was apparently under the age of 16. (Due to the age of the alleged victim, authorities have stated that no further details can be released at this time.)

After her arrest Sunday, Sidney delivered a very un-“Baddie” mugshot. She also delivered a statement to TMZ, denying that she committed the acts she’s charged with.

Sidney’s bad muggie…

“[Sidney] says she ‘unequivocally denies the allegations against her and intends to vigorously defend herself through the legal process.'”

“Allegations should not be mistaken for fact, and public opinion should never replace due process,” Sidney said in the statement.

She added that she doesn’t want this case to reflect poorly on the transgender community.

“One person’s alleged actions should never be used to judge or stigmatize an entire group,” the site wrote of Sidney’s sentiments.

Sidney— who just hosted the ‘Bad Boys’ Reunion on Zeus Network on Sunday— also stated that she will not be commenting further on the case at this time.

One person who was apparently shocked to see Sidney’s muggie and hear her charges was her mother, Stephanie Favors. Sidney’s mom told TMZ she was blindsided by her daughter’s arrest and, despite the charges, she is standing behind Sidney.

“Stephanie Favors tells us the allegations are completely out of character for Sidney … and she does not believe her daughter would engage in sexual activity with a minor,” the site reports.

Stephanie claims that Sidney— who listed her home address as being in Chicago— was in the ATL for a gig.Sidney’s rival, Joce Sparks — who is also transgender— took to social media on Monday to give her thoughts on the situation.

“Now you’re making me look bad, bitch,” Joce said during a Live. “And I didn’t do s**t. Girl, we’re just trying to open up doors but you’re closing them, bitch….you closing the doors, punk.”

Joce went on to talk about how cases like this reinforce negative stereotypes certain groups have about transgender people.

The Zeus Network— which streams the ‘Baddies’ franchise— released a statement on Monday following news of Sidney’s arrest.

“The Zeus Network is aware of the recent allegations circulating on social media involving Sidney Starr,” the statement reads. “As a matter of longstanding policy, The Zeus Network does not comment on pending legal matters involving current or former cast members.

“While these allegations remain subject to the appropriate legal process, The Zeus Network takes matters of this nature seriously and does not condone the conduct alleged in recent reports. Ms. Starr appears in previously produced programming that is currently airing on The Zeus Network. Her appearance in this content does not reflect a position or endorsement by the network regarding the allegations.

Sidney remains behind bars as of press time. She faces life in prison if convicted of the charges.

UPDATE! Sidney has been placed in the “vulnerable population unit” at the Fulton County Jail, due to her being transgender.

  1. If he wants facts, I’d say a confession is pretty good evidence. Most likely hooked up with someone who lied about their age. Idiot

    1. Women are offenders too. There’s one that lives 4 houses down from me who SA’d AN INTELLECTUALLY DISABLED CHILD UNDER THE AGE OF 12. SHES like 65!!!! We need to bring back public executions SOLELY for anyone that hurts children

  2. I’m so tired of MFs hurting kids. I don’t care what hangs between your legs , or doesn’t hang, or gets taped and tucked …kids are fucking off limits. There shouldn’t be second chances. Needle straight to the vein, sending you straight to hell where you belong.

  3. I have been the victim of SA many times unfortunately. All of the offenders were straight men except one “straight “ female. It makes no difference the gender or sexual orientation.

    1. That is an asinine statement. There’s multiple reasons for that, I’m sure the town you lived in was crawling with trans people? The problem here is not trans people, it’s MEN PRETENDING TO BE TRANS PEOPLE and ASSAULTING KIDS. It literally does not matter that this happened to you, it happened to this persons victim. Stop trying to lessen the blow with your own solitary experience. It’s tired.

    1. I think in his perverted, warped mind, he is saying it was consensual and “didn’t know” the child’s age. Let’s not forget, in all of these comments fighting about pronouns and homophobia, that a child, A CHILD, was irrevocably harmed. This person deserves the hate.

  4. The hate speech in the comments section has gotten completely out of hand and Ellen is leading the racist, homophobic and transphobic charge. @TheAshley should have banned her a long time ago. Raises some questions about TheAshley’s personal beliefs. What site in 2026 doesn’t have a report or block option?

    1. What worse none of this people care when straight men make up the most child molesters but have all this energy to spew hate speech.

        1. They stated a fact. If you think that this fact is hateful to men, that’s a you problem.

    2. @IBLP– First, let me make my beliefs CLEAR. I stand entirely against racism and homo/transphobia. I delete any homophobic and transphobic or racist comment I see, or any abusive comment. However, commenters have a right to express their opinion, even if it is not the same as mine. On this site, though, they do NOT have a right to be openly racist, homophobic or abusive, etc. and those comments will be deleted. I monitor the comments daily, so if an abusive comment is still up, I may not have gotten to it yet. Please let me know if you see something openly racist, abusive, etc. Thank you. -The Ashley

      1. Thank you for saying this. I was surprised to see the headline lead with Sydney Starr’s gender identity. Recent articles about Taylor Frankie Paul and domestic violence allegations began with her name or the show she appeared on, not with “cisgender woman.” Same with the Duggar’s trash pile.

I’m genuinely curious why The Ashley felt that Sydney being transgender needed to be front and centre. Her gender identity has no apparent connection to the alleged crimes, so including it in the headline feels irrelevant and stigmatizing. Why not identify her by her name and the show she appeared on, as you would with anyone else?

        1. Because for Sydney, that is part of her identity, she prefers to be known and addressed that way. Sydney refers to herself in this manner. It doesn’t offend her, it shouldn’t offend you

You’re trying to make something out of nothing to jump on that oh so controversial bandwagon, but you leapt a lil too late. So sorry, please try again.

    3. You can call it what you want but people like you are in the minority and probably have children assaulted and you don’t even know it because you’re too busy championing for strangers (YOU DONT KNOW) innocence. Just because they got a demographic you support. Obnoxious and lacking in common sense and morals.

    1. Save the “again and again” energy for straight men who commit the vast majority of sexual crimes against children.

    2. Get the F out of here with that nonsense. We all know that all people of all races and genders have been sex offenders. Your attitude is disgusting.
