“90 Day Fiancé” Alums Brandan & Mary DeNuccio Defend Themselves After Being Bashed for Starting Yet Another Online Fundraiser

“Well…here we are again.”

Brandan and Mary DeNuccio are defending their recent decision to once again ask their fans for money.

The “90 Day Fiance: The Other Way” stars said they were hoping their followers will have an open mind (and, of course, an open wallet), despite the fact that they’ve begged for money on the Internet many times before. In a video posted to Facebook on Tuesday, the couple defended their decision to start yet another online fundraiser last week.

In a now-deleted Facebook post, Brandan and Mary explained that their family had fallen on tough medical times again and was in need of support from fans. The couple revealed that Mary’s grandfather Lolo (who has appeared on the show) had a stroke, at the same time both of their daughters— Midnight and Summer— were hospitalized.

“We really thought we wouldn’t have to ask for help again, but we’re going through a difficult time,” they wrote. “We had money saved for emergencies, but after my grandpa was hospitalized because of a stroke, both Midnight and Summer ended up in the hospital too.”

Brandan and Mary claimed they used their savings for their hospital bills, food while staying in the city, and the medications they need at home.

Brandan and Mary preparing to take their kids to the hospital…

“We’re not forcing anyone to donate, we’re simply asking for help from anyone who is willing,” Mary and Brandan added. “We know some people may judge or screenshot this, but if you don’t want to help, that’s okay. Please just keep scrolling.”

The fundraiser was yanked not long after it was posted, due to the backlash Mary and Brandan received.

In the video posted on Tuesday, Mary revealed that both of their daughters and Lolo are now home from the hospital.

“He can talk but some words I can’t understand,” Mary said of her grandpa.

“He can walk, but he kind of has to hold on to something,” Brandan added, noting that Lolo will now need to do physical therapy to improve his coordination and help him “re-learn how to speak more properly.”

“Let’s hope you aren’t the one teaching him how to do that, Brandan…”

They also revealed that Lolo has pneumonia, just like their daughters Summer and Midnight. (Last week, the couple shared that the kids had fevers ranging from 101.1 to 105.2 degrees Fahrenheit. The couple took the kids to the same hospital Lolo was at after Midnight vomited– which they chose, for some reason, to record and post online– and they were there for about a day before being sent home.)

Brandan and Mary also addressed their online fundraiser, which was not well-received and only up for three hours before Mary shut it down.

“I knew if we were going to raise a fundraiser, some people are gonna talk bad about us,” Mary stated. “So I shut it down.”

“The last few times we tried doing a GoFundMe to help [Mary’s grandmother], there was a lot of bashers, so we’ve been trying to save up money for a situation exactly like this…” Brandan insisted, adding that having both kids plus Mary’s grandfather in the hospital at the same time hit them hard financially.

“We were only [financially] prepared for one person [to be hospitalized],” he said.

What Brandan and Mary looked like after being told that starting online fundraisers doesn’t count as actual employment…

“Don’t worry. We’re going to save up [for] next time and people won’t bash us anymore,” Mary said.

Mary went on to insist that they shouldn’t be judged for asking for money online, since a lot of other “90 Day Fiance” stars do it.

“We’re not the only ones doing that,” she said. “A lot of cast from ’90 Day Fiance’ are doing [online fundraisers] and they’re getting more [money.] Like, a lot more…”

(Mary and Brandan are likely referring to a recent online fundraiser started for Armando Rubio‘s daughter, Hannah, who was hospitalized with a brain bleed. That online fundraiser has raised over $181,000 as of press time. Another GoFundMe— which was started for Jenny Slatten to help with medical expenses related to her ALS diagnosis— has raised over $103,000.)

“Hey, big spenders! Send that cash money our way!”

Mary stated that she and Brandan are used to be bashed.

“You can ruin our lives, but you can’t do anything to break our family apart because our family is stronger than you think, guys,” she said.

“You wanna bash us, go ahead,” Brandan added.

“Just, like, send us money afterward…”

Tuesday’s video comes days after the couple posted to Facebook, requesting kindness and asking that people forget about all the other online fundraisers they’ve started in the past.  In their post, the couple told detractors that, while everyone is entitled to their opinion, they hope one day the doubters will “understand that behind every post is a real family doing its best to get through a difficult time.”

“We’re not asking everyone to love us or support us,” they wrote in part. “If helping isn’t for you, that’s completely okay. But kindness doesn’t cost anything.”

Much of the criticism Brandan and Mary received presumably stems from their previous fundraising fiascos, including two years ago when the couple came under fire after raising more than $1,300 for Mary, who claimed she had colon cancer.

As The Ashley previously reported, Mary told fans in February 2024 that doctors needed to remove the cancer they had found “before it’s too late.”

Brandan eventually admitted that Mary wasn’t actually ever diagnosed with colon cancer but assumed she had it after watching TikTok videos.

As you do…

“Thanks a lot, Dr. TikTok!”

Go-Get-Funding, the site Brandan and Mary used to fundraise, pulled the couple’s page days later, though Mary told fans the money that was donated had already been spent. The former TLC stars apologized to fans and insisted they did not mean to deceive them.

After their second child Summer was born in June, Brandan and Mary posted another fundraiser as their baby suffered from breathing issues, garnering more criticism from “90 Day Fiancé” fans.

  1. They are unbelievable he looks in the camera and thinks she’s sexy and she’s disgusting she eats like a pig she puts the camera in her face and chomp chomp chomp on her food they are disgraceful I don’t care if they’re Filipino or not humans don’t need to eat like that with a camera in their face… And I think part of it is so people make comments like why are you eating like that and they get money for that… Continuously using each family member saying they are sick with TB or pneumonia or 105 temperatures come on what’s going on I told them today on that website I’m not watching anymore they are disgusting

  2. The computer equipment was from another fund raiser Mary started I believe last year for her to get a job online that never happened. She also was doing something with cell phones raffling them off I think it was never made clear.

  3. Brandon and Mary also had a fundraiser asking for money, insisting they couldn’t afford to feed Midnight.
    That also got taken down.

  4. Jenny and Armando fundraisers are different. They are actually credible and work for a living (Jenny is retired).

ALS is a very progressive disease and it will be expensive to get her husband here for treatment.

Armando’s daughter had to get med evac up to Phoenix for emergency surgery! Thats expensive.

Regardless, Mary and Brandon arent credible because they’ve lied before (Mary’s fake colon cancer) and have had multiple go fund mes. Also, neither one works at a job!

  5. at this point, anyone who is actually stupid enough to donate to these 2️⃣ disgusting & shameless grifters is 💯 getting exactly what they deserve.
    #sorrynotsorry
also, were the grifters asking for another embarrassingly low sum of 💰, like under $5k, that any functioning adult (esp one w/kids) should easily have on hand?

  6. There was a video of Brendan receiving thousands of dollars worth of computer equipment a few months ago for free (or heavily discounted). They should sell that instead of grifting on the Internet. They truly have no shame.

I’m always confused by those who donate. Surely there are local, worthy causes to donate to that are more legitimate than 90 day weirdos who refuse to work?
