EXCLUSIVE! Trial Date Set for ‘Unexpected’ Season 7 Star Falen Vaughn’s Criminal Case

“Hey TLC, feel free to pick up the cameras and follow us to the courthouse!”

Falen Vaughn will be heading to court this fall.

The Ashley can exclusively reveal that a date has been set for the ‘Unexpected’ grandma to stand trial on the multiple criminal charges pending against her.

Falen— who is the mother of Season 7 star Bella— is currently facing a charge of Disorderly Conduct, as well as one charge of Obstructing Governmental Operations, both of which stem from when police arrested her in April.

Although Falen pleaded not guilty to both charges (and filed a motion in May asking that the case be dismissed), a pre-trial hearing was held on August 6. During this hearing, the judge notified Falen that the court scheduled a trial date for November 5 in Arkansas.

As The Ashley previously reported, Falen was arrested on April 20 after she allegedly put her hands on a police officer. This alleged offense occured outside of the home of Casey Johnson, who is the father of Bella’s baby daddy Hunter Johnson. Falen’s arrest occurred after a showdown at Casey’s place between Hunter’s stepmom Brettney Johnson and Hunter, as well as Hunter’s mother Stacie Riddle. Bella and her son Wes were also present at the scene, which is why Falen and her husband Kris rolled up to the home.

“I had already separated [Hunter’s mom and stepmom] and was attempting to gain information when Falen Vaughn arrived,” an officer on the scene that night wrote in the Affidavit of Probable Cause. “After speaking to her and attempting to gain her information, Falen Vaughn’s husband [Kris] Vaughn arrived and was approaching Cpl. Stephenson in what appeared to be an agitated state. I gave Falen a lawful command to stay back. Falen did not heed my command and began quickly walking toward [Kris] Vaughn and Cpl. Stephenson.”

The officer wrote that he grabbed Falen’s arms and again ordered her to stop.

“Falen did not stop and tried to pull away from me multiple times,” the officer wrote. “At that time, due to an officer safety concern of [Kris] Vaughn and the fact that he appeared to be agitated, and Falen’s refusal to follow my commands, I gained control of her and brought her to the ground where I placed her under arrest.”

Not long after Falen’s arrest, her attorney Kevin Hickeytold TMZ, “Falen was at the scene to help her daughter and grandson and now she looks forward to proving she’s innocent of the charges.”

Footage from the officers’ body worn cameras showed how the scene played out. In her Motion to Dismiss from May, Falen claimed that the footage showed that the officers misrepresented what happened in the Affidavit of Probable Cause. She insisted that she was not disobeying the orders of the officers on the scene that night. She also criticized the police officers for their own alleged misconduct against her, as well as Hunter and her husband Kris.

“Justice for my mama!”

In addition to pleading not guilty, Falen sent a Spoliation Letter to Casey’s attorney. The letter demanded that the judge order Casey to preserve any evidence relevant to the case. It forbids him or anyone else from destroying, deleting or altering any electronic evidence that has to do with the case. Falen also asked that Casey preserve all evidence of electronic communication between them, or between Bella and Casey, as well as any communication about them. (This can include text messages, emails, photos sent, computer data logs, etc.)

Both of Falen’s criminal charges are Class C misdemeanors, which is the least-serious category of criminal offenses in Arkansas. Because of this, Class C misdemeanors also carry the lightest possible penalties, and often result in little to no jail time.

It did result in this delightful mugshot offering, though…

Falen has not spoken publicly about her case since her arrest.
