Following a disastrous segment on the “90 Day Fiance” Tell-All stage, Catie Norboe is facing even more backlash online for her poor behavior towards bar staff, show producers and her husband, Josh Atkins.
On Sunday’s episode, audiences picked up where they left off last week with Catie storming off the Tell-All stage during a heated moment. Last week, Catie asked Josh, “Why don’t you dump me? I’ve been waiting for you to dump me forever. When she was asked if she truly wanted to be married, she tearfully replied, “I don’t know! I don’t have to listen to [Josh]! I just want to be young and live my life.”
She also told him that she doesn’t “enjoy being together” and that she thinks she’d “do better on [her] own” before her exit.
“I only want to talk to people I like,” Catie told producers backstage. “I don’t care if I make out with people! It’s fine. I don’t want to talk to any of them ever again!”
(As viewers know, Catie has a little habit of making out with her friends when she gets drunk. It’s been a major point of contention in her and Josh’s relationship, so of course, other cast members had been commenting on it throughout last week’s episode. Some of the footage from infamous Catie’s birthday party was shown, which spurred the comments and Catie’s meltdown.)
“I don’t like watching footage of me being bad and then people telling me I’m being bad and need help,” she told longtime friend Danika. “They don’t know me.”
Danika comforted Catie and told her that “since New Years’, [she’s] been really good” and even denied friends’ attempts to get her to go out with them. (Danika revealed last episode that Catie made out with three people at a friends’ New Years’ Eve party, which put Catie and Josh back into a bad spot after their wedding.)
“It’s totally normal to have crushes on all the people!” Catie said. “I always have crushes on everyone. I’m just open about that kind of stuff. I don’t think I’m evil.”
(Meanwhile, when Catie was backstage saying all of this, Josh was defending their relationship on the main stage, saying that despite all of the red flags, it’s “simple for [him]” to forgive and move past them because Catie is the person for him.)
After rejoining the rest of the cast, she acknowledged that she was “overwhelmed” and didn’t mean the comment about being unhappy in the marriage. She said she thought the cast thought she was “nutso” because she “keeps saying random things every five seconds. Catie also stated that she wanted to come back to have a composed conversation about wanting an open marriage– something Josh said he still doesn’t want.
The not-so-happy couple did not come to a clean conclusion, but they did have a heartfelt moment where they were honest about their love for each other.
After the official Tell-All, the cast all went out for a drink and things did not get any better for Catie. Before the night even started, Josh said every time Catie goes out, he has to become “the babysitter instead of the partner” since he doesn’t trust Catie to know when to stop. (We can assume he means stop drinking and trying to put her tongue in random people’s mouths.)
However, he said he’s committed to “not spending [his] life trying to control her.”
When Shea McGuire’s daughter Allison joined the group, Catie drunkenly told her that she was “so hot” and said, “As long as I don’t make out with her, it’s fine.” She later brought up making out with Paula Barbosa and said that she’s “flirty with everyone [she] knows.”’
“I didn’t know that was 100% accurate,” Allison said of descriptions of Catie’s past behavior. “…[but now], I’m like, ‘Damn, this b*tch really DOES like to make out with people!’”
Catie’s friend Ryan joined the group, and almost immediately upon his arrival, she asked him if he loved her, said she wanted to make out, and told him she “just wants to be a regular ho.”
“I’m allowed to have a drink!” she told him before storming out of the bar. Josh asked her to take a timeout, and she told him to “leave [her] the f**k alone.”
She then called the bartender a “f**king a**hole” and when the producer told her she can’t have another drink, she called her a “psycho” and said the people at the bar were “evil and mean.”
Josh apologized to the producers and said Catie was acting “like a f**king cow” and was “being a b*tch.” Catie told him that he was “horrible” and asked Danika to go to another bar before Josh whisked her back to their hotel room.
The next morning, Catie appeared to have some regret about her actions the night before. She explained that she wants to find a way to exit her “party girl era” and vowed to try to stop drinking for a month to see how it feels. Naturally, Josh was thrilled with this idea.
Catie is receiving heavy backlash for her behavior on social media, with fans calling her behavior childish, while others argue that although her Tell-All behavior was over the top, production might’ve manipulated the situation at the bar.
One fan on Reddit noticed that during her bar meltdown, the camera pans to show that the bartender made Catie’s espresso martini after telling her they closed down. One commenter wrote, “My first thought was ‘didn’t TLC rent out that bar?’ The producers 100% cut her off.”
“I felt like the producers cut her off for the drama- like, ‘let’s see the reaction we can get when we tell her no,’” another fan wrote.
“Your outfit was fine. The problem was that you became belligerent when the bar was closed for the evening,” one commenter wrote. “When not getting a drink causes an immediate anger response that can be a sign that you have an addiction to alcohol.”
Catie has not responded to the comments, but Josh did make a video responding to hate comments claiming that he’s being cuckolded by Catie’s behavior in bars.
