Star, along with Radar Online are reporting that Amber Portwood of Teen Mom fame was rushed to an Indiana hospital after “being found unconscious in her home with a rope around her neck in a possible suicide attempt.”

The story says she was found just after noon this afternoon (East Coast time, obviously) in her apartment by the mother of her boyfriend, Gary Shirley. He became concerned about her well-being after a telephone conversation he had with her. According to the story, Amber was found unconscious on the couch.

Amber was taken via ambulance to the hospital, where she later regained conciousness and admitted that she had taken a variety of pills.

As The Ashley said, this is all under ‘rumor’ until we get some sort of confirmation from a reliable source, such as Gary himself.

Although The Ashley has made fun of Amber in the past, this is not funny at all. If she really did try to commit suicide, Amber needs to get some help ASAP.

The Ashley will update this story when more details become available.

Update #1: Although he hasn’t confirmed or denied that this story is correct, Gary did just post this on his Twitter: “Due to recent events, it was best that Amber delete her Twitter.. Appreciate all those who continue to support.”

“Late this morning (11:34 a.m.), Anderson Police responded to a call at a residence in the 1300 block of Pleasant Meadow Drive. According to the caller, 21-year-old Amber L. Portwood was depressed and threatening to end her life. The victim, who did not appear to be injured, was transported to a local medical facility for further evaluation. Two policemen arrived, found her face-up on the couch and immediately called for an ambulance. When two EMT workers arrived, they removed the rope that Amber had loosely knotted around her neck. They tried speaking with her, but she was in and out of consciousness and couldn’t respond; she was just moaning. They gave her an oxygen mask, put her on a gurney, and rushed her to the hospital.”
