Looks like we can throw another Bachelor franchise couple on the failure heap! According to ‘Bachelorette’ guru Reality Steve, Emily Maynard and Jef Holm officially called it quits this weekend and will announce their split soon.

“Until Jef and Emily officially go on the record and release a statement, I guess that’s when you’ll believe it, but I can tell you right now that Jef and Emily broke up this weekend,” he wrote last night. “Done. Over. No longer engaged. This isn’t being reported anywhere else. No magazine or gossip site has it yet. It’s just what I feel comfortable in reporting based on what was told to me.”

Normally, The Ashley would be skeptical in believing this kind of info, but Reality Steve is a very credible source. (Got to give credit where credit is due, and this guy is legit when it comes to all things ‘Bachelor!’) Anyway, as per usual when one of these made-for-TV romances goes kaput, the couple is trying to figure out the best way to release the news of the split to the media.

If The Ashley had to guess, she’d bet that they’ll head straight to People magazine (Em’s way too classy for In Touch or the equivalent) and release the statement in an exclusive interview.

Of course, with the very recent news that another ‘Bachelor’ franchise couple, Ben Flajnik and Courtney Robinson, have split it’s likely that Emily and Jef may wait a week or two to announce their breakup, just to put some space in between the bad press for the franchise.

What happened? We, of course, don’t know for sure, but according to Reality Steve, all of those cheating “rumors” played a big part.

“I can tell you that all the stuff you’ve heard over the last two months, coupled with other things, is why they are done,” he wrote. “If you honestly think that none of the reported stories in the tabloids was true, and all of it was made up, you have your head buried in the sand.”

This news makes The Ashley sad. Despite everything, The Ashley still really liked Emily and wanted her to be happy. However, being on the TV and looking for love is clearly not the route that’s going to lead her to her soul mate. With a face like that, something tells me that she’ll have no trouble finding plenty of gentleman callers in the future!
