Why It Took ‘Teen Mom 2’ Star Leah Messer So Long to Introduce Baby Adalynn Faith

"OK, you can see her now!"

It took her almost two months, but Leah Messer Calvert is finally giving us nosy Teen Mom 2 fans a glimpse at her new daughter, Adalynn Faith Calvert! The little girl was born February 4 in West Virginia.

The Ashley‘s sources tell her that it took Leah so long to debut (or even confirm) Adalynn’s birth because MTV was busy arranging the deal with Us Weekly and she wasn’t able to discuss it because it violated her show contract. (Despite what y’all think, Leah almost certainly did not profit financially from this story. This was all set up by MTV.)

Last month, the baby’s name made its way to the tabloids, however, The Ashley’s sources tell her that Leah and Jeremy (or MTV for that matter) were not behind that leak. It was a third party that leaked the name to the press, and MTV was not happy about it!

Anyway, US Weekly has finally released its multi-page spread that contains an interview with Leah and Jeremy, as well as adorable family photos. The photos also included Leah’s twins, Ali and Aleeah, who are Leah’s daughters with Corey Simms. Adalynn is Jeremy’s first child, and, according to Leah, he’s adjusting well to fatherhood.

“I have to give [Jeremy] 100 percent props,” Leah told Us. “At first, he was nervous to hold the baby because she as so tiny. But he adjusted really well. He changes poppy diapers; he does it all!

“She’s such a blessing, because it was really hard for us to lose our first child,” she added. “So she’s very, very spoiled.”

The baby arrived five weeks early, but was healthy. Leah apparently had a difficult birth, even leaking spinal fluid after the epidural.

“We were amazed — she was just so beautiful,” Leah told the magazine about the day she Adalynn was born. “She reached out and grabbed hold of Jeremy’s little finger. It was very emotional.”

Since ‘Teen Mom 2’ is no longer filming (and will likely be cancelled after the fourth season runs its course), it’s unlikely we will get to see baby Adalynn on the show, except for possible catch-up specials.

Congrats to the happy family!
