Get your denim skirt out of your closet because your dreams (or nightmares) may be coming true! The Duggars are coming back (again)! The oversized family has been spotted filming around their hometown in Arkansas.
An unnamed “source” (hmm…. perhaps a certain a fame-hungry cousin?) spoke to Entertainment Tonight about the family’s (possible) return to television. The source says the family has been filming for months for an unnamed special or series.
In Touch Weekly provided even more proof that the former 19 Kids and Counting stars will soon be back on our TV. The magazine recently published photos of the family filming in Springfield, Arkansas.
Eighteen-year-old Joy Anna Duggar was spotted out with the family’s on-demand party planner, Sierra Dominguez, strolling through a local grocery store with the camera crew in tow.
“A camera crew was with them when they arrived in the parking lot, and another cameraman was waiting for them inside the supermarket,” an eyewitness told the magazine. “They were shopping for supplies for a party Sierra was organizing. The film crew included one of the people who used to film for ’19 Kids and Counting.'”
This is not the only time the Duggars have been spotted filming in recent weeks. A camera crew was present when the Duggars threw a surprise baby shower for a friend. A shower attendee posted a photo of the shower to her Instagram account, along with a caption that confirmed the shower was being filmed for TV.
The residents of Springfield aren’t too happy about it, however.
“There is a lot of hate regarding the family. After all that has happened, this isn’t the same family in many people’s eyes,” a source told Entertainment Tonight.
The source added that there hasn’t been any word about whether disgraced eldest son Josh Duggar will appear on whatever show the Duggars are currently filming. For now, he’s still holed up in a Christian-based “rehab” facility trying to work out his addiction to pornography. Meanwhile, his children and wife Anna are living in the Duggar compound.
The Duggars’ show, ’19 Kids and Counting’, was cancelled last year after the molestation scandal involving Josh was revealed. In December, TLC ran a three-episode special featuring married Duggar daughters Jill Dillard and Jessa Seewald. Those specials proved to be very lucrative for the network, so it’s no surprise that ET‘s source is claiming that TLC is interested in producing further shows featuring the other Duggar daughters.
“The other girls will be courting soon,” the source says.
Duggar daughters Jinger and Jana are of courting age but neither girl has ever been in an official courtship yet. (However poor Jana may be stuck caring for her litter of siblings forever and be passed over for courting.)
Several of the Duggar boys are old enough to start the courting process as well. John David and Joseph are 26 and 21, respectively, but neither guy has shown any interest in courting to date. Their younger brother, Josiah, now 19, was briefly in a courtship last year but that went belly-up once the scandal involving Josh hit the family last year.
The Ashley reached out to the network for comment regarding the recent filming and the possibility of a new show starring the Duggars.
“Nothing to announce at this point,” a rep for TLC told The Ashley.
The Ashley will keep you posted!
