Lauren Conrad to Reveal Behind-the-Scenes Secrets of the ‘The Hills’ in Upcoming 10th Anniversary Special

Prepare to feel old: It’s been nearly a decade since Lauren Conrad told her former best friend, Heidi Montag, that she wanted to “forgive her and forget her.” But…it looks like LC is going to be doing a little remembering these days. That’s right: The Hills 10 Year Reunion is officially happening!

MTV announced this week that the reunion special, “The Hills: That Was Then, This Is Now” will air next week and will feature interviews with Lauren (and possibly other cast members) who will tell what was really going on during the filming of the [faux] reality show.

“So often we would say, ‘If you knew the real story, you’d understand,” Lauren says in the trailer. “What I would like to do is tell that story.”

"OK, let me tell you what that biotch Heidi actually did..."
“OK, let me tell you what that biotch Heidi actually did…”

‘The Hills’ and its predecessor Laguna Beach were the first reality shows of their kind. They followed teenagers in Orange County, California, as they dealt with the everyday drama of being young, pretty and rich. And we loved it!

When Lauren moved to Los Angeles to study fashion, ‘Laguna Beach’ was spun-off into ‘The Hills,’ following Lauren and introducing us to Heidi Montag, Whitney Port, Audrina Patridge, Spencer Pratt, Stephanie Pratt, and Brody Jenner. Lauren’s childhood friend, Lo Bosworth, and her arch rival, Kristin Cavallari, eventually joined the show’s cast as well.

‘The Hills’ ended in 2010, with the final episode revealing that the show (or at least parts of it) had been fake.

It appears that upcoming anniversary special may address what parts of the show were scripted and which were real. It’s unknown which cast members will be back to dish the dirt on the reunion special.

“We’re going to take a look back at the show and reveal things that we haven’t talked about before,” Lauren says in the trailer.

Does this mean we will finally learn what “terrible thing” Heidi did to Lauren all those years ago? Who could forget Lauren screaming, “You know what you did!” over and over again outside of the club?

Will Lauren finally explain to us why she turned down going to Paris to hang out with that bum, Jason?

We may be getting the answers to these questions and more when “The Hills: That Was Then, This Is Now” airs on MTV on August 2 at 9 pm.

  1. I am looking forward to this. I loved Laguna Beach and The Hills so it will be cool to see what was scripted and what was real.

  2. I’ve been thinking they’d have a special soon for the 10 year anniversary! I’m excited to watch it, The Hills was my guilty pleasure! I even watched it years later when they would do the MTV retro thing in the summers and replay Laguna Beach and The Hills, was actually bummed the didn’t show them again this year! Please lord tell me there is a Justin Bobby update!!!

  3. I hope this isn’t a big tease. Obviously we know parts were fake and parts were real, but I hope stuff is revealed that hasn’t been yet and this isn’t another case of secrets about this show being revealed when nothing is going to be a huge revelation.

  4. I am actually super excited! I can’t believe I started watching Laguna a Beach when I was 12… I remember my parents didn’t want to watch it so I watched it online. It always went online 1 hour after it aired and after I would watch it online the live after show with Dan and Jessie was on! Ahh memories!

  5. Do any of us really care now? I mean don’t get me wrong, I loved The Hills and loved Lauren, Lo and Audrina but that was when I was 22. I’m almost 31 and couldn’t care less about how they did things back then. We all know lots of it was scripted. I guess I’m over that phase….

  6. Well some of it was obviously real. Heidi and Spencer really did get married in 2009, they are still married. Audria.na just had a baby with Cory
