Katy Perry and Orlando Bloom have welcomed their first child together – daughter Daisy Dove Bloom.
The American Idol judge and her fiancé shared the news with a statement to UNICEF, as they are both Goodwill Ambassadors to the global organization. The organization posted the statement and a photo to social media, welcoming Daisy Dove Bloom to the world.
“We are floating with love and wonder from the safe and healthy arrival of our daughter,” Katy and Orlando’s statement read.
The couple went on to address the shortage of healthcare workers around the world and the deaths of pregnant women and newborns that occur, “mostly from preventable causes,” before revealing a UNICEF donation page they have set up to in celebration of their daughter’s arrival.
“ … Since C0VID-19 many more newborn lives are at risk because of the increased lack of access to water, soap, vaccines and medicines that prevent diseases,” the couple wrote. “As parents to a newborn, this breaks our heart, as we empathize with struggling parents now more than ever. As UNICEF Goodwill Ambassadors, we know UNICEF is there, on the ground, doing whatever it takes to make sure every expecting mother has access to quality healthcare.
“In celebration of the heart we know our daughter already has, we have set up a donation page to celebrate DDB’s arrival,” the statement continued. “By supporting them, you are supporting a safe start to life and reimagining a healthier world for every child. We hope your [heart] can bloom with generosity.”
Katy and Orlando announced their engagement on Valentine’s Day 2019 and in March of this year, Katy revealed in the music video for her song “Never Worn White” that she was expecting.
Baby Daisy joins big brother Flynn, Orlando’s 9-year-old son, whom he shares with ex-wife Miranda Kerr.

Daisy Bloom doesn’t even crack the top 50 bad celebrity baby names, it’s fine. It’s cute even, and not so cutesy that it will be a curse as an adult.
And that ring is very Katy. It’s also fine. I wish them all the happiness as their future unfolds.
