Project Runway is back with a surprising twist for fans for its 20th anniversary season. The upcoming season will feature designers from the past 19 seasons who will use their creative sewing and design skills to compete against each other in various challenges. 

For Season 20, a variety of celebrity guest judges— from reality TV stars to actors to famous designers— will join the judging panel of Nina Garcia, Brandon Maxwell, and Elaine Welteroth. Guest judges slated to appear include Alicia Silverstone, Lena Waithe, Julia Fox, Billy Porter, Jennie Garth, Coleman Domingo, Kate Chastain and Luann de Lesseps. 

Also stepping in to lend their opinions are designers Stacey Bendet of alice + olivia, Zac Posen, Sergio Hudson, Willy Chavarria, Batsheva Hay, Wes Gordon, and the CEO of the Council of Fashion Designers of America, Steven Kolb. Model Paulina Porizkova and celebrity stylist Law Roach will make appearances as judges as well.

Christian Siriano will again serve as a mentor to the contestants.

According to the trailer, Season 20 will also include some reality TV cross-over challenges.

One such challenge sees the designers creating a uniform for the Below Deck crew. ‘Below Deck’ cast members Captain Lee Rosbach and Captain Sandy Yawn are seen in the trailer, explaining the challenge to the designers.

If the trailer is any indication, fans can expect a lot of drama and jaw-dropping creations.

“Twenty years ago, a show was created that broke the mold,” Nina says in the Season 20 trailer. “‘Project Runway’ brought high fashion to everyone.”  

In the end, one winner will be given $250,000, a mentorship with the Council of Fashion Designers of America, as well as a feature in Elle Magazine.

Korto Momolu from Season 5

Mila Hermanovski from Season 7

Viktor Luna from Season 9

Fabio Costa from Season 10

Laurence Basse from Season 15

Bishme Cromartie and Hester Sunshine from Season 17

Brittany Allen from Season 18

Prajje Oscar Jean Baptiste and Anna Yinan Zhou of Season 19

Season 20 of ‘Project Runway’ premieres June 15 on Bravo. Fans can also watch the show on the streaming platform Peacock the following day. (Each Season 20 episode will be 90 minutes!)
