Mahmoud and Nicole El Sherbiny are set to appear on the upcoming season of 90 Day Fiance: Happily Ever After? but it’s safe to say that things in the couple’s relationship are anything but happy at the moment.
On Thursday, the “90 Day” Instagram account @MerryPants broke the news that Mahmoud— who moved from Egypt to Los Angeles last year to be with his wife Nicole— had been arrested for domestic violence. Another “90 Day” blogger, John Yates, also confirmed the arrest, as well as the fact that Mahmoud had been booked under a different last name than the one he and Nicole are publicly known by.
According to court documents obtained by The Ashley, Mahmoud was booked into Los Angeles’ Northeast Division station on Wednesday at 2:50 a.m.
He was charged with misdemeanor domestic violence. (The booking report does not confirm that Nicole was the alleged victim; however @MerryPants is confirming that fact.)

The Ashley can confirm that Mahmoud— who is listed as being only 110 lbs. and 5.5 feet tall on the booking report— was being held on a $20,000 bail. He was reportedly released on bond at around 8:40 p.m. Wednesday night.
Mahmoud is set to appear in court on March 13 in Los Angeles. Four days later, the new season of “90 Day Fiance: Happily Ever After?” premieres.
Fans got a glimpse of the problems between Mahmoud and Nicole following Mahmoud’s move to America. (The couple had previously lived apart, and Nicole had unsuccessfully attempted several times to live in Egypt with Mahmoud and his family.)
“After four tumultuous years of living in Egypt, Mahmoud is moving to the U.S.,” Nicole states in the new season’s trailer. “I’m feeling really anxious because this is our last chance to save our marriage.”
The couple is shown getting into a fight, with Nicole telling viewers that Mahmoud had “vanished” with her phone and credit card. She is then shown frantically searching around town for her husband before eventually spotting him (toting a suitcase). She screams for him to “get in the f**king car!”
Neither Nicole nor Mahmoud have spoken out regarding the arrest.
The “Tell All” episode for their season of “Happily Ever After?” filmed last weekend; however, according to John Yates, Nicole and Mahmoud were not present for the taping.
