Kam Williams Reveals Why it Was a “Really Simple” Decision to Compete on ‘The Challenge: All Stars 4’ Eight Months After Giving Birth

Killa Kam is comin’ back.

The Challenge: All Stars 4 premieres Wednesday, marking the return of many fan favorites from the long-running competition series, including Kam Williams, who was just eight months postpartum at the time of filming.

As The Ashley previously told you, Kam and fiancé Leroy Garrett– who met while starring on ‘The Challenge’– welcomed their first child, son Kingston Lee, in June 2022.

Eight months after giving birth via C-section, Kam began filming Season 4 of ‘All Stars.’

In an interview with In Touch Weekly, Kam stated that it was important to get rid of the stigma that moms can’t compete on ‘The Challenge,’ given that many dads on the show return season after season.

“We see ‘Challenge’ dads all the time,” she said. “They compete. They rarely take breaks. And I wanted to really change that. There are a lot of mothers in the workplace and stuff that have to go back to work. We don’t, within this country, even get a lot of paid maternity leave and stuff like that. Sometimes we have to get right back to it.

While “Killa Kam” said she was “very cautious” while training for [‘All Stars’ 4], she was also returning to compete after taking a few years off from the show. Despite this, she told In Touch Weekly that the decision to return to ‘The Challenge’ was a “really simple” one for her.

“I just missed it,” Kam said. “So I asked myself, I’m like, ‘If my baby wasn’t a factor, would I be saying yes?’ And the answer to that was, ‘Yes.’ And I’m a strong believer in just because you become a mom, your life shouldn’t stop. You shouldn’t stop doing things that you enjoy.”

“So I’m no different from any mom out there, having to get back out there to provide for my family,” she added.

Joining Kam on the new season is Leroy, who previously claimed he was retiring from ‘The Challenge’ franchise.

“I think a lot of people don’t talk about how much of a big life change that becoming a parent is for fathers, as well,” she said of Leroy’s decision to come back. “So I saw him going through that moment and it’s because he put everything before himself. I thought, ‘What better way to remind you of just being yourself than to do this show that we love?’”

Following ‘All Stars’ Season 4, Kam announced she was expecting her second child. She and Leroy went on to welcome daughter Aria Lee in February.

Season 4 of ‘The Challenge: All Stars’ begins streaming April 10 with two back-to-back episodes on Paramount+.

  1. Those are some cute kids! (Which shouldn’t be surprising considering both parents look great) What a lovely family!

  2. Just curious how long filming lasts? To leave young kids for an extended period of time doesn’t seem like a smart choice, but I guess they had their reasons.

      1. They said it’s 2 weeks on a podcast. It is like a job, win or not they are still getting paid and doing it for their family. Plus instead of going to work every day for a year and being away from your kid they can go 2 weeks and possibly win more than they would make that whole year. So, if you consider the big picture it’s smarter.
