On Sunday’s episode of Sister Wives, viewers watched as Janelle Brown called out her ex-husband Kody for referring to his only remaining wife Robyn as a “Diesel Jeans model” shortly after his trio of divorces from herself, Christine and Meri Brown.
As fans know, Christine announced she was leaving Kody in late 2021, followed by Janelle in early 2022 and Meri in January 2023. While discussing some of the comments Kody has made following his multiple divorces, Janelle called out her ex-husband for seemingly forgetting that his first three wives stood by his side through what Janelle referred to as the family’s “broke” years, something “Diesel Model” Robyn did not do.
“Kody has said, ‘Well, all of a sudden, I met Robyn and she’s this Diesel Jeans model and she’s everything I want,’” Janelle stated on Sunday’s episode. “And I’m thinking, ‘That’s rich, dude.’ We went through all the starving years, when I was holding my bra together with diaper pins and we were broke as broke, and we went through all of your crazy, ‘Let’s move here, let’s move there.’ We’ve been through all of this with you and [Robyn’s] not been through that with you.
“So that’s great,” Janelle continued. “You just take your little Diesel Jeans model and just go live happily ever after.”
For those wondering, Janelle’s “Diesel Jeans model” remark stems from a comment Kody made on a 2023 episode of the Mormonism Live podcast regarding the alleged jealously among his wives. During the podcast, Kody told the hosts that while three of his four marriages had ended, he once considered himself a “total success,” due to the fact that he had “a Diesel Jeans model” come into his family in 2010.
“I thought that was the biggest validation,” Kody continued, before claiming that his supermodel wife Robyn had other people in their church who were interested in dating her and even some men who wanted to marry her– a claim he also made this season on ’Sister Wives.’
As The Ashley previously told you, Kody told Robyn on an episode that aired in December that he wasn’t comfortable with her attending church for “too long” without him, as he didn’t want men at the churches to think that Robyn was a single mom– the very thing that Robyn was when Kody met her.
“There’s a lot of men interested in Robyn and they were sort of trying to get around me and [get] to her,” Kody told viewers.
As for Janelle’s comments on Sunday’s episode regarding the Brown family’s “broke” years, this is also something that has been spoken about publicly by members of the family, most recently in December when Maddie Brown– daughter of Janelle and Kody– revealed on her former podcast that her family was “very poor” before nabbing their TLC series in 2010.
Maddie, who is estranged from Kody, explained to listeners that, despite her dad earning “decent money” at the time, the family struggled financially, in part due to how many kids Kody had. She also called out Kody for always choosing “the get-rich-quick scheme.”
Back in 2023, Kody and Christine’s daughter Gwendlyn Brown also spoke out about the Brown family finances– specifically the spending habits of her dad and Robyn.
“I think that my dad and Robyn have a terrible habit of, like, spending very crazy and not within their means at all,” Gwendlyn said in a video posted to her YouTube channel, before going on to state that her mom, Janelle and Meri’s financial situations had likely improved since splitting with Kody.
“They’ll probably be a lot better off that they’re no longer with him, and they’re no longer financially tied to him because they still make a lot of money separately,” she explained.

Kody is arguably the most insufferable reality tv personality. Everytime he opens his mouth, he sounds like a bigger tool.
Robyn was the end of this plural marriage. Cody is right there with her.

Robyn says she wants to live polygamy but her actions always showed otherwise. There is no way Robyn would have stayed through the broke years. 1 She is not going to hold down a job long term. 2 She’s not going to watch her kids all by herself on a regular basis, much less any of the other kids. 3 She has expensive taste. Robyn got into this family because she knew there was a chance for a big payday. Diesel Jean Models don’t just marry frumpy men with multiple wives and a horde of children unless they’re getting something from it. And no, it’s not a soulmate. Lmao
Robyn wanted the perks of living plural shared housework , shared child raising, shared finances….but she didn’t wanna share her man.

Robyn isn’t that attractive. Sorry, had to say it. I don’t know why Kody is trying to sell all this “model” crap. She’s your average woman. Well, with a terrible spending habit. Who literally leeched off the other wives and had a nanny.
Janelle carried them financially. Meri also worked. Christine babysat all 500 of the kids. What a piece of crap. As expected.
She’s not. My sister described her perfectly. She has the face of an old lady who just hasn’t aged into it yet.

Robyn and Kody both clearly have mental problems. Kody has delusions of grandeur and seems to alternate between depressed and manic. Robyn has compulsive behaviors around spending and hoarding. Also neither of them seem to be able to care for their own children which is not normal.
I usually don’t agree with people calling people “manic” because it’s simply not true. Some people are just shit. Im bp1 and I can see Kody is out there mentally.
I could be wrong but I see Kody as just plain dumb. He thinks he knows it all but in truth he knows very little. As for Robyn, she is using Kody for what she can get financially. Once the money stops she will find another sucker.
Every time I think Kody can’t possibly make me think less of him…he does. He’s such a TOOL! He really CANNOT see that his failures are because of HIM. HIM HIM HIM HIM!! It’s nuts. I just don’t believe that he will be happy with ONLY Robyn because Robyn likes money and when that starts running thin, his Diesel Jeans Model is going to be casting her net waaaaaaaay out again. I predict within in the next 5 years, they’re back into polygamy and there’s at least ONE more young chickie doodle for Robyn to rule over. I’m SO happy Meri got outta that mess and has her proper and right share of Coyote pass. I’ve never liked Christine for some reason, but I waffle on Janelle. I think she kind of feeds off of who she’s around and when she’s around Christine I don’t care much for her, but I really DO like her solo and for some reason, even though they don’t have a friendship, I like Janelle and Meri together! I would love if they ended up creating a small bit of a friendship now. They’re similar in a lot of ways and I think they’d be really good support and friends for each other.
I never liked Christine. I admired her for taking on all the kids but she just got to the point where she got on my nerves. I never understood why any of the women tolerated sharing one man. Especially Kody! As for Robyn, I think she is in as long as the check keeps coming in. I would hope Janelle, Meri and Christine just move on and get over the past. They made the choice to live polygamy and have all those kids. Kody is no prize and eventually he will pick a younger gal to “multiply” his love life.I would never choose to live polygamy and to even think I could be friends with a so called “sister wife” turns my stomach.
