Jenelle Evans is standing by her decision to offer to allow her ex, Nathan Griffith, to stay at her home last week, despite the fact that he was (allegedly) drunk and basically on the run from the cops at the time.
As The Ashley reported, Nathan— who is the father of Jenelle’s middle child Kaiser— was arrested on Wednesday night after a standoff with the cops following an argument with his girlfriend Anastasia Biddle. Nathan was eventually hauled off to jail and charged with domestic battery by strangulation and violating his probation, but earlier that night had called Jenelle asking for help, claiming he was about to be arrested. On Thursday, Jenelle told her social media followers that she had offered up her Las Vegas home as a place for Nathan to stay– even stating that he could sleep in bed with Kaiser— whom Nathan has not seen in more than two years.
Although Nathan ended up being arrested before he could make it to Jenelle’s home, the fired Teen Mom 2 star is still catching a lot of flak for offering to let an allegedly drunk Nathan come over and hide from the cops at her home.
“If a man has chose to not see his child in 2 years, why would you attempt to help him?” someone asked the fired ‘Teen Mom’ star in the comment section of her TikTok post.
“Because I have a big heart,” she replied.
“To waltz him back in when he’s drunk in the middle of the night is WILD,” another person wrote, to which Jenelle insisted she was going to have Nathan come over at 7 p.m. and not “the middle of the night.”
“Choosing my child’s mental health by letting him see his father? Of course,” Jenelle wrote in the post’s comment section, telling another person who stated they would never let their drunken baby daddy stay at their house that, “I’m sorry you’re coldhearted but I’m not.”
When one person on TikTok brought up the fact that it was probably not smart to have an already [allegedly] drunk Nathan show up to her home and crawl in bed with their son— whom he had not seen in literally years— while Nathan was wanted by the cops, Jenelle defended her decision, arguing that Nathan was not a threat to them because he was “more upset than angry” before his arrest.
She also denied that he would be able to [continue to] get his drink on, had he made it to her house that night.
“Actually I don’t have alcohol at my house so he has to start somewhere,” she wrote, later adding that, “what’s best for my own child is his father getting help and getting sober.”
As The Ashley has previously reported, Nathan has a long history of arrests, with several being for domestic battery and strangulation, as well as alcohol-related offenses. At the time of his arrest last week, Nathan was on probation for strangling his sister in 2023. Should he be convicted of violating his probation, the terms of his probation mandate that Nathan be sent to prison for a minimum of 12 months in prison, with a max of 48 months.
While Live on TikTok on Monday, Jenelle admitted that “Nathan is dangerous in his own way,” but denied that she had any interest in starting up another romantic relationship with the legally challenged gym buff.
“He doesn’t need any girlfriend,” Jenelle said, adding that Nathan’s wife, May Oyola, is also trying to help Nathan out. “His wife doesn’t want to be back with him either. She’s just trying to help because she feels bad. A lot of people want to help him but I don’t know. [It’s a] sticky situation. He should have got help a long time ago, you know? Like, I think he’s been drinking like this since he’s been in the military, and acting the way he does…”
While Nathan’s newest ex, Anastasia, was doing a TikTok Live over the weekend, Jenelle surfed on to start harassing the 21-year-old. During the Live, Jenelle accused Anastasia of keeping Nathan from seeing Kaiser, and stated that Anastasia had been jealous of both her and May, whom Nathan is still legally married to, despite their split in early 2024.
A restraining order has been issued, barring Nathan from contacting Anastasia. As of press time, he remains behind bars and will head to court on May 6 for a hearing about having his probation revoked.

He has severe PTSD from a head injury. I think you mean “manic depressive.” I sincerely doubt that he is bipolar or schizophrenic. He’s a drunk, dangerous person. Most people with severe mental illnesses like bipolar or schizophrenia aren’t violent. Head injuries can cause anger issues sometimes. No not all of them, but some. He still has no right to abuse and terrorize people.
People with mood disorders like bipolar and schizophrenia absolutely can and will get angry and violent during manic episodes (i.e., Kanye West). This is especially true for those who are unmedicated and are self-medicating with drugs and/or alcohol and enter into psychosis. Not saying that this is what is wrong with Nathan — I’m not a psychiatrist or psychologist and can’t make that call. But if he is suffering with any of these illnesses, there is no excuse for it. He needs therapy, medication, and to stay away from substances — whether its PTSD, something else, or a combination of things.
I think I would know what it looks like. I have BP1, BPD, PTSD and anxiety disorder. I have psychotic episodes. The lines between PTSD and bipolar do cross over. But nothing about him strikes as bipolar or schizophrenia. People with schizophrenia use word salad. And people with bipolar have pressured speech. Nathan has never presented with either of these. Schizophrenia is a progressive illness. He would be having an extremely hard time functioning. Not that he acts “normal.” I just don’t believe it’s anything but PTSD. Well, It’s also being a jackass and always beating and abusing women. Never men. If he were that mentally ill. He would go around beating everyone’s ass. He knows very well all the shit he’s doing.
How on earth would it be beneficial for your sons mental health, in ANY way, to assist his drunk bio dad, who he hasn’t seen in two years (even though they literally live in the same city…), who is running from the law after assaulting yet ANOTHER woman, and allowing him to sleep in the same bed with him when you have no idea what he’s capable of?! Jenelle… SMH, just when I think you can’t be any more dense than you already are…
So having Nathan show up drunk and sleep it off in Kaiser’s bed, waiting for the police to arrest him for strangling someone would be (checks notes) good for Kaiser’s mental health?? JFC Jenelle and Nathan are just the worst.

Yeaaahh.. I stand by that I really think Nathan needs to be in a mental health facility. Prison/Jail will do ZERO for him. He needs to be committed, period. He’s a passive aggressive, maniac depressive, addicted alcoholic who probably has some type of undiagnosed schizophrenia and he’s likely either unmedicated or improperly medicated. Self-medication doesn’t count lol. Hasn’t he gone through specifics veteran’s court a couple times where he gets the option to go to rehab, and then he screws it up or leaves early, sending him back to regular court? Or he maybe completes the rehab thing is put on probation and then violates it?
I feel like he’s been given a few chances to be more offered help bc he’s a veteran, but he always screws them up, anyways. Meaning that either the options and opportunities we give criminal vets either aren’t working… or Nate isn’t interested in making them work.
He’s a domestic abuser, always has been. We don’t know if he’s always been an alcoholic, but he keeps failing out treatment and rehab. The PTSD/TBI/military trauma of his life is probably exacerbating both, while not necessarily causing either.

I’m sure if he had a CT or an MRI his brain would be like scrambled eggs. It’s such a shame as a VET he can’t get adequate help. America is at the top of the food chain but doesn’t treat our VETS, especially our INJURED (both mentally and physically) like the gold they are. Who cares whose sleeping with who or what religion they are or who they love or how they dress when we have these amazing people who are putting their lives on the line day in and day out for ALL of us. The world is such a strange place. We’re so wrapped up in fighting the wrong fights. Anyway, I hate the way this is panning out for Nathan and by no means think he shouldn’t be held accountable, but hopefully his accountability will be appropriate for his REAL situation.

I think my favourite part of the whole thing is that Nathan has a history of drunkenly strangling people, and Wahhhhnelle was quite happy for him to crash in Kaisers bed… while drunk. Because it just seems like thats such a good idea, given Nathan’s background…. Yet again putting her kids at risk, but hey, just another day being such a good mom, i guess.

Nathan tells her the cops are coming for him because he strangled (ooops, allegedly) his g/f and Janelle says he can come stay at her house for a few days. I guess her kids haven’t had enough trauma with Sasquatch and his violent altercations. She has a big heart?? No, she has a big hard on for not being alone and forcing herself to be a mother to her kids.
She literally said in her first post about it that she “wanted some help with Kaiser.” She didn’t mention anything about how it would be good for Kaiser to see his dad, etc. She just saw Nathan in a vulnerable state while she was single and saw “someone who I can trick into this house and then guilt into parenting for me, even though they’re literally drunk, strangling people, in crisis, and the cops might show up soon in front of all my kids….”

Thankfully Nathan didn’t make it to Jenelles and was instead arrested. He could use a stay in jail to sober up and do some self reflection. Maybe he doesn’t want to parent but he will probably always date. May God be with any women in Nathan’s future.
