EXCLUSIVE! Former ‘Teen Mom’ Dad Nathan Griffith Being “Uncooperative” In Jail After Begging Girlfriend Not to Attend Hearing After His Arrest for Strangulation (Hear the Audio!)

“Just put your more-classier court heels away and let’s forget the whole thing, kay?”

Nathan Griffith had his first hearing in Las Vegas Justice Court on Thursday afternoon and things did not go well for the former Teen Mom 2 dad.

The Ashley can exclusively reveal that it was decided in court today that Nathan— who is the (absentee) father of Jenelle Evans‘ middle child Kaiser— has remained in jail following his arrest for “domestic battery by strangulation” and violating his probation on Wednesday night. (As The Ashley reported, Nate was arrested after getting into an argument with his 21-year-old girlfriend Anastasia Biddle.)

Nathan was being disciplined and reported to be “uncooperative” with the cops, which made them unable to interview him.

The Ashley can confirm that, as of press time, the District Attorney has decided to move forward with prosecuting the former soulmate of Jenelle with domestic battery by strangulation– a felony level offense.

Probable cause to charge Nathan with the crime has been found, and Nathan was given a public defender to help him through the initial hearing on Thursday. Nathan was also issued a no-contact order, forbidding him to get in touch with Anastasia until at least August 21.

This comes after Anastasia posted— and then quickly deleted— audio of a phone call between her and Nathan, which was seemingly recorded earlier on Thursday when Nathan called her from jail. The call was made before Nathan went to the hearing and was issued the no-contact order, so the call didn’t technically violate anything.

(You can listen to the audio of the phone call below!)

“Calls me from jail to tell me not to show up, just so this entire thing can get dropped,” Anastasia captioned the audio recording when she posted it to her Instagram.

Anastasia can be heard telling Nathan that she has a hearing next month in relation to the case, which Nate begs her not to attend.

“Don’t, please, just don’t show up!” he tells her. “Because it will be dissolved, everything will be dissolved. You don’t have to show up.”

Anastasia argues that she’s protecting herself, but Nathan again begs her to help him.

The, um, happy couple before the arrest…

As The Ashley previously reported, Jenelle jumped into her former soulmate’s strangulation shenanigans on Thursday after news of his arrest hit The Interwebs. Jenelle explained that Nathan had called her after the fight with Anastasia and she had invited him to come to her Las Vegas home and hang out for a few days, despite Nate being drunk and seemingly being wanted by the cops for questioning. She admitted that it had been two years since Nathan has since Kaiser, despite them both living in Las Vegas for the last year.

“I said, ‘Listen, you can come over here, you can spend the night and stay in Kaiser’s room because he has a queen size bed,’” Jenelle stated. “But in a few days, you’ve got to figure out what you’re doing. But I will give you the option of trying to help you and I’m only doing that, of course, because it’s Kaiser’s father.'”

Nathan didn’t make it to Jenelle’s place, though, as the cops were waiting for him outside his home. After an hours-long standoff in which Nate refused to come outside (all while on FaceTime with Jenelle), the police broke into his apartment and arrested him, according to Jenelle.

Nathan is currently on probation for strangling his sister in 2023. In July 2024, Nathan agreed to the terms of his probation, stating he was aware that if he did not follow the terms, he would be sentenced to a minimum of 12 months in prison, with a max of 48 months.

According to court records, Nathan will be held in jail until at least April 29, when a status check hearing has been scheduled regarding the filing of the criminal complaint against Nathan.

The Ashley will continue to update this story. Stay tuned…

  1. Nathan does need help with his substance abuse issues, but he needs to get it while serving hard time. This man is not going to stop putting his hands around other people’s necks. He needs to be kept behind bars for the maximum allowable time.

  2. Hey Nathan, STOP THE STEROIDS!

    This dude is ROID RAGING.

Dudes injecting their bodies with maximum testosterone IS THE PROBLEM.

  3. JFC. I work with vets, I have family that are vets that were 3x deployed to active zones. I see the damage war does daily. This is not the result of that.
This is repetitive behavior for Nathan that keep escalating, and the only way to stop this is to spend some hard time away from society and having a shitty ass detox enough to make you never want to touch that bottle again.
Also, for Doris to argue with the barely of age girlfriend? Really? Discipline probably wasn’t high on her strength list in her home if she’s trying to get him out of ANOTHER strangulation charge. And how would you feel being Nathan’s sister right now?
This whole thing is beyond a train wreck.

  4. For those that attain and maintain sobriety I truly applaud you.
This man is going to kill someone. I don’t give a shit about his problems, he got drunk and attacked his sister the night her husband was out of town. He waited until he knew he was in control and terrorized the women in his life that loved and cared for him. This is who he is.
And fuck that piece of shit Jenelle, for giving her sons bed up after he has been absent from his life for two
years. He shouldn’t be able to walk back in, use his shit, and then bounce (again) that is that child’s home!

    1. Nathan should consider quitting the steroid use, and if he’s not on steroids, he should consider having one of his testicles removed, maybe two.

      It’s called BIOLOGY.
The male hormone is dead serious.

  5. He strangles people. It’s what he does. I’m sorry for his issues. I truly am. That changes NOTHING.
Begging someone not to show up so it’ll go away, I’m pretty sure the DA knows that’s how several of his incidents “went away” before.
He hasn’t learned ANYTHING. He won’t learn anything. He’s had allegations, charges, and arrests more than just the 3 that went forward. It’s time. 2 years in prison with mandatory counseling and rehab isn’t enough, he will kill someone. He needs a LONG term and extensive treatment.
I cannot stand to watch another Teen Mom person get off with barely anything when they are clearly a danger to themselves, others, or both.

    I’d be sobbing, too.
Doesn’t change it. He’s sobbed, begged, and been afraid every single time… hasn’t stopped him from strangling and attempting to strangle more people.
He AGREED in no uncertain terms, fully understanding said terms. I’d say DV with alleged strangulation is a major violation of parole for DV with STRANGLING someone. No wiggle room violation. (let alone the cell phone, and all the other smaller ones)

  6. While I know Nathan has PTSD and a TBI, there’s no excuse for this. If he can’t control his drinking and violence (and he’s been given more than enough chances to do so), then he needs to be locked up before he ends up killing somebody.

Poor Kaiser got both shit ends of the stick for parents. Jenelle telling a violent drunk, who her son hasn’t talked to in two years, that he can hide out from the law in her son’s bed is insane. Girl is just steadily handing David evidence of what a horrible mother she is for their custody battle.

    1. Removing his testicles would “FIX” him.

It works on cats on dogs. It probably works better on humans.

Our power as human beings comes from our BRAINS, not our testicles (or ovaries). It’s time to EVOLVE.

Nathan would probably benefit greatly from reduced testosterone. If he’s injecting steroids, he needs to stop immediately!

  7. What a useless excuse for a man! imagine begging a victim of your crime to help you, like when you had your paws around her neck did you help her! Disgusting… and then for Janelle to want the POS around her and worst of all her children! When will she ever put them 1st!!

    1. And they were so “in love” a few months ago.

      Relationships like these sicken me.

We act like “falling in love” is such a beautiful thing…. But the drama it creates is not worth the risk.

Sex is a Drug, and by celebrating those couple that are madly in love, we are celebrating a drug culture.

Human beings, GROW THE F UP.

Romeo & Juliette is NOT ROMANTIC, it’s a warning about the stupidity of falling MADLY in love with someone. (Think of the word “MADLY” it LITERALLY means CRAZY!)

We need to look down on the idea of Romeo & Juliette. It’s not romantic. It’s MADNESS.

  8. While I don’t know about Neveda, my best friend went through this in Oklahoma. Her husband had slowly escalated and finally broke her nose. Then a few days later tried to kill her in front of their boys and she finally said enough was enough. Her SIL took pictures and went with her to the police. They took pictures and went to her house where there was still blood evidence from her broken nose on the wall because she hadn’t had “time to clean” between the 2 escalations. Before the trial, she changed her mind and wanted the charges dropped and said she wasn’t going to be in trial as a witness. The DA said this happens a lot with DV and we have your original statements and evidence so we’re going to trial with or without you. He was convinced.

    1. Well this reply was for Amy Too further down but I guess it can be it’s own reply. 🤦‍♀️

    2. Where I live- if you make a 911 call for domestic violence— someone’s going to jail!!! Literally the cops have told me that time and time again! Even if you just had an argument- call the cops – someone’s leaving in handcuffs… scary though huh! Makes me wonder how many ppl don’t even call for help….

  9. Control and manipulation, the tried and true tactics of a serial domestic abuser. What has to happen before someone says enough is enough because counseling and probation hasn’t worked?!

  10. So in a little over a week, Kaiser’s brother goes into a violent rage, damaging their home (again) and Janelle calls the cops on him. Then his father violently assaults his girlfriend. The girlfriend that takes up all of Nathan’s time and attention instead of giving at least some time and attention to his son who lives nearby.

That poor child has been dealt a horrible hand in life. May he find the strength to avoid anger and violence and live a happy life.

Meanwhile Janelle’s divorce case in NC is heating up, against the monster that used to abuse Kaiser. Yet somehow Lurch doesn’t look quite as bad compared to all of this chaos (even though he is and always will be an evil monster).

  11. He’s wanted by the police for a serious crime, is on a drunken bender and Janelle thinks this is a good time to invite him over? That is insane. I sometimes think that the worse thing Janelle is addicted to is DRAMA. I think Nathan has got lucky so far because he was always involved with some type of U.S. Veteran court that some places have. The D.A. here may not need a victim’s co-operation so is she doesn’t want to get involved, it may not matter.

  12. Wow. What a grade A colossal piece of shit. He tells her not to show up as he has told all of his other exes that he strangled not to show up. They didn’t. I hope she has the strength and resiliency to follow through. He truly is scum. Sadly the courts will penalize him more for being “uncooperative” than the pattern of repeated strangulations with multiple victims. Hopefully something sticks and he gets jail time but I won’t be holding my breath.

    1. At least he’s in a new state now that may not be able to drop charges based on whether or not the strangulation victim wants to press charges or not.

Does The Ashely know if Nevada is a state where the State can press DV charges against him and present their own evidence, even if his victim doesn’t want to cooperate and press charges, herself?

      1. The DA of any state can always press charges without the victims cooperation, in anything. A victim doesn’t press charges, ever, in criminal court… in any state. The state (or federal government) presses criminal charges. The problem is that when it comes to DV, without the victim, how can they prove in court that the person is guilty? So it becomes a waste of time and resources for a lot of jurisdictions if the victim doesn’t cooperate. But whether or not to press charges is ultimately up to the DA, and some will still try without the victim, while some will never do it
