Mike “The Situation” Sorrentino is giving fans something to fist pump about.
After appearing on the Jersey Shore franchise for years, the MTV star announced this week that he and wife Lauren Sorrentino are gearing up for a new show of their own, which will follow the husband and wife as they help individuals who are battling addiction and mental health issues.
Mike shared the details of the upcoming series to TMZ on Thursday, claiming that in the new show– which is set to begin filming soon– viewers will see the couple “go door-to-door to course correct an addict’s life from active addiction into recovery.”
“I will speaking to the person that is suffering from the disease of addiction and my wife will be speaking to the family,” he said.
As longtime fans of ‘Jersey Shore’ know, Mike previously battled an addiction to pills, though he has maintained his sobriety now for nearly a decade. He reflected on his past addiction struggles this week while discussing his new project.
“If Mike ‘The Situation’ can clean his life up– and it was definitely a mess– then pretty much anybody else can as well,” he said.
Mike explained that the topic of the upcoming show is something that is near and dear to both he and Lauren, not only because of his past, but because Lauren lost her brother to addiction when he was in his twenties. Mike said he and Lauren– who are both nationally certified in intervention work– are aiming to help people who are struggling with addiction, while also breaking the stigma behind the disease.
“ … I can’t wait to just throw my hat in the ring and fight for those that are not fighting for themselves,” he said, acknowledging that he has been able to turn his own pain “into purpose.”
“Right now, I feel like I have so much power behind me with this project,” he said. “I feel like the streets are behind me, I feel like the fans and the viewers and people that have grown up with me, they’re just so inspired and so proud with what I’ve done with my life in the past 10 years.”
As The Ashley told you in September, Mike and Lauren announced that they were opening their own addiction and mental health treatments centers, The Archangel Centers, providing help to adults and adolescents ages 12 and older. The centers focus on holistic healing, while offering recovery services including detox, therapy, group support, aftercare and more.
Mike revealed this week that the Archangel Center in Tinton Falls, New Jersey, is set to open in about two months, with two other locations to open up in the future. Mike said he expects to eventually expand the centers nationally and claims there’s even some interest in bringing the centers to South Africa and Australia.
Mike and Lauren have yet to announce further details about their upcoming show.

Discipline can’t be taught, only learned.
I sincerely hope they’re coming at this with good intentions but it still feels a bit exploitative to (probably) personally profit from this with a TV show deal.
Maybe Jax can be their first customer
Exploiting addicts is a disturbing grift.
This is sleazy American scam nonsense. Just put your drugs down losers.
I just watched a reel where he revealed a part of his book- and I guess Lauren’s brother died from addiction so ultimately that’s what made her try to save him. So this is something that’s important to them! It’s so nice to see that people can not only change, but fight to help others! I’m a nurse and seen drugs change people- and it’s so sad because they don’t have the help they need!
You know what? Good for them! It’s great that he’s been able to turn his life around and actually do something positive. A lot of people on reality tv just talk a lot. They’re actively working to make change not just for themselves and their kids, but for their community as well. I really love that for them and I look forward to seeing them grow in this new chapter.
