Lala Kent has yet to score a main role on The Valley, but that isn’t stopping the former Vanderpump Rules star from weighing in on what’s currently happening among the cast or coming to the defense of one of the show’s stars.
On a recent episode of her Give Them Lala podcast, Lala and her brother/co-host, Easton Burningham, took a moment to talk about ‘The Valley’ and the fact that Jax Taylor has announced that he will be stepping away from the Bravo series for Season 3 in order to focus on his mental health, sobriety and co-parenting his four-year-old son Cruz, whom he shares with soon-to-be ex-wife Brittany Cartwright.
While Lala commended Jax– who publicly revealed in March that he had a decades-long cocaine addiction– for prioritizing his recovery, she insisted that, as one of Brittany’s best friends, she’s “following her lead on how she wants me to handle this situation,” despite being able to personally relate to Jax’s sobriety journey.
“ … I’m the only one a part of the friend group– besides Jax now– but the only one who’s in recovery,” Lala, who has been sober since 2018, said. “So I see things, not diminishing what [Jax] did to Brittany, but I see that aspect of things … .”
Lala then went on to address the criticism Brittany claims she’s been receiving on social media amid her (very tumultuous) split from Jax, reminding listeners that, “through all of this, Brittany’s the victim in this.”
“ … even the Internet, she has said, has been pretty hard on her, and I think that’s completely unfair,” Lala said. “It’s very easy to throw stones from afar and every single person lives in a glass house.
“If we were to put cameras on anybody’s life, and you lived authentically, we could all find a lot of faults, things that you maybe could be doing differently, and we also come from our own experiences, traumas and perspective, which is a real bitch as well,” she added.
Lala went on to praise Brittany for her ability to deal with “a lot” amid her split from Jax, noting that she believes her friend “has handled everything beautifully.”
“She’s stepped up taking care of her son,” Lala said. “No one hustles harder than Brittany Cartwright.”
As The Ashley previously told you, during a May episode of Give Them Lala, Brittany addressed the backlash she’s received from viewers, while asking her critics to give her “a little bit of grace.”
” … if I do one thing wrong, I feel like people come at me,” she said. “And it’s like, give me a little bit of grace. I’m literally going through the hardest summer of my entire life and doing it all on TV.”
Despite supporting for Jax making the “very smart move” to step away from ‘The Valley,’ Lala admitted on her podcast last week that she isn’t “entirely” sure that Jax truly knows what he did to Brittany amid his addiction struggles and believes it may take a while for him to fully get to that point.
“It’s going to take more than just a couple months of sobriety to acknowledge,” she said.
While Brittany revealed on a recent episode of Watch What Happens Live that her co-parenting relationship with Jax remains rockier than ever at the moment, Lala said she sees the former couple eventually getting to a point where they can “co-parent in a very healthy way,” but only if Jax makes a genuine effort to better himself.
“I think if he puts his head down, focuses on the work, you know, a year goes by so quickly … ,” she said.

In a word… gross! It’s certainly adds to her bimbo persona which is otherwise genuine.
I agree that Cruz is the only real victim. Jax is the worst but she knew what she was getting with him and went ahead anyway for “fame” and money.
Cruz is the victim. His parents are stupid, selfish, assholes.
Brittany is the victim, mostly of her own stupidity.
