Andy Cohen Calls Out Jax Taylor During ‘The Valley’ Reunion for Using Security Cameras to Spy on Brittany Cartwright: “Do You Know How Creepy It Is?”

“Automatic Jackhole of the Day, Jax.”

While much of Jax Taylor’s bad behavior has gone unchecked on The Valley Season 2 Reunion thus far, host Andy Cohen took a moment during Tuesday’s episode to call out the former bar “owner” for using home security cameras to spy on estranged wife Brittany Cartwright following the couple’s split.

On Part 2 of the Reunion, Jax– who revealed in July that he was diagnosed with bipolar disorder– admitted that he was still angry and figuring out “some problems,” despite being on a medical regimen for his diagnosis. Jax also claimed that these alleged control issues were to blame for some of the things he did to Brittany.

“You can start by controlling that bulging vein in your forehead…”

“If I feel like I don’t have the control, I lose it, because control to me is a very big thing,” Jax said. “Rage-texting and looking on the [security] cameras– that’s a form of control to me.”

“Do you know how creepy it is that you were watching on the cameras?” Andy fired back at Jax.

Brittany discussing the cameras in the Season 2 trailer…

As fans saw this season on ‘The Valley,’ Jax– who went public about his decades-long cocaine addiction prior to the Season 2 premiere– sought treatment at an inpatient rehab facility, only to rage-text Brittany from inside of the facility and later admit to spying on her through cameras placed throughout their once-shared Valley Village, California, home.

Jax rage-texting and spying on Brittany came on the heels of Brittany revealing on the Season 2 premiere that during one of her and Jax’s arguments, Jax threw a piece of furniture that hit her in the knee. She also claimed that Jax punched holes in the walls of their home and screamed at her while their four-year-old son Cruz was in the next room. She went on to reveal on Part 1 of the Reunion that Jax also “fat-shamed” her after she gave birth to their son and that he had pushed her into a rose bush on one occasion– an incident she (and other cast members) claimed was captured on her Ring camera.

While Jax maintained on Part 2 of the Reunion that many of his actions were a response to him losing control of his marriage (as well as his career), Andy assured him that it wasn’t too late to turn things around.

“It’s in your control,” Andy said. “If what you’re saying is that control is a huge issue for you and you want control, you have control. Because the more you take control of your actions, the more your life with [Brittany] and everybody else here is gonna get better.”

“Yeah, we’ll see about that.”

As The Ashley told you last month, Jax announced that, “after an incredibly challenging year” and “many honest conversations” with his team and show producers, he has decided to step away from the next season of ‘The Valley.’

“Right now, my focus needs to be on my sobriety, my mental health and coparenting,” he explained. “Taking this time is necessary for me to become the best version of myself – especially for our son, Cruz.”

On a July episode of his SiriusXM radio show, Andy Cohen Live, Andy told listeners he was “very pleased” with Jax’s decision to step away from the Bravo series, noting that the subject would be discussed during the Season 2 Reunion.

“You know the drill, Jax…go into hiding for a little while, then we’ll bring you back and just pretend that none of this ever happened.”

“ … I have kind of a serious conversation with him about his need for control and his anger issues and what it’s gonna take to get to a better place with Brittany and, you know, in the world, and I hope that he takes the time to lean into this away from the cameras … ,” Andy said. “He seems very committed from our conversations to his sobriety, and I hope that time away from the cameras will further encourage that and further encourage him to get it together.”

  1. Jax’s entire “rehab” stint was a joke. There is no legitimate facility anywhere that will let you keep your cell phone. Or let you record yourself for confessionals for a TV show. Bravo should be disgusted with themselves for even allowing this garbage to air. It completely negates those who DO put in the real work, and who DO go to legitimate facilities to better their lives.

While Brittnay is a victim of Jax, she’s also an instigator. The moment he started rage texting her from this place she should have been on the phone to the facility to have it stop. Even though they were separated, she would still be deemed his medical contact and therefore would be able to speak to someone there (at least in a legitimate place).

These 2 “adults” and Bravo had made a mockery of mental health struggles by turning it into a ratings craze. This season was disgusting and the only truly innocent victim is Cruz who doesn’t deserve to have such immature parents.

  2. The way he’s using his “mental health diagnosis” as an excuse for his narcissistic behavior is infuriating. People come at him about his rage texting and he says “I know I’m working on it.” Well, that’s not good enough. The threats, the stalking, those are CRIMES, people, and to let him get away with them is awful. He WANTS Brittany to drug test him? No, dude, how about you take responsibility for your own sobriety and stop farming it out and making it someone else’s job. Will it be her fault if you relapse because she didn’t test you often enough? He’s a terror to his marriage and the way the reunion is allowing that bad behavior to continue, not holding him responsible for it, is pathetic.

  3. Just checking in to see how many people comment on these posts about The Valley, and I see it’s not a lot.

I love that The Ashley is using her creative platform to write what she wants to write, even if not a lot of people respond to certain posts. It just makes the website seem authentic, like it’s not driven by “stats about which shows/articles get the most clicks.”

It makes me feel like The Ashley is being truthful, and equally snarky, in all her recaps, and not just playing to “likes and comments.”

This is a weird compliment and comment, but I just wanted to let the The Ashley know that she still seems absolutely real and authentic *because* she keeps writing about the shows she’s into (but maybe her readers aren’t so much into). It makes it feel so much more like an authentic blog from 2006ish.

Yours is one of the first blogs I consistently came back to years and years ago. I love the welcoming, nostalgic feeling I get when I visit. Thank you.
