Veronica Peters Defends Her Behavior During Lydia Plath’s Proposal After ‘Welcome to Plathville’ Fans Slam Her “Cruel” & “Vile” Actions

“To sum it up: sorry not sorry!”

Veronica Peters, the former girlfriend of Micah Plath, is doubling down on the “cruel” and “vile” behavior she exhibited on this week’s episode of Welcome to Plathville.

Tuesday’s episode of the TLC series showed the moments leading up to and immediately following Lydia Plath’s engagement to Zac Wyse; however, it was the childish behavior of Veronica, Micah and Ethan Plath that seemed to overshadow what was meant to be a special moment for Lydia and Zac.

The Three Stooges of Proposal-Ruining

Not only did the trio ignore Zac as he attempted to explain the details of his proposal, Ethan decided to set multiple mini-fires in the very spot that Zac planned to pop the question and Micah pushed a chair into the water after being asked to move it. Micah also nearly knocked Zac over when he (for some reason) rolled his body downhill at the proposal site.

I refuse to believe that these two are actual adults…

While Ethan and Micah’s terrible behavior was likely expected by fans of the show, viewers also watched as Veronica joined in on the hazing of Lydia’s man by trying to get Ethan and Micah on-board with doing “the opposite” of whatever Zac instructed them to do. Moments before Lydia arrived to the surprise proposal, Veronica also took the top layer of her clothes off to reveal a shiny mini-dress, telling viewers that Zac had instructed everyone to show up wearing “church clothes.”

“What’s the problem? Jesus LOVES sequins…”

“ … I was like, ‘OK, that’s what I’m NOT going to do,’” Veronica told viewers. “I don’t listen to anybody, never mind a man I’ve never met. I am my own mind.”

Others present at the proposal were less-than-impressed at Veronica’s attempt to steal the attention away from Zac and Lydia.

“I think she thought it would be like, ‘Ooh, my gosh, look what she’s wearing,'” Lydia’s 16-year-old sister Amber Plath stated. “And everyone is going to be paying attention to her and no  one’s going to care about the proposal. [She thinks people will be] like, ‘Veronica, what are you wearing, it’s so risky’ or whatever. And I don’t think anyone really realized.”

It’s giving hints of desparation…and the Forever 21 clearance rack…

While Veronica– who split with Micah shortly after Lydia and Zac’s February wedding– has recently spoken out about both the alleged abuse she suffered while filming Season 7 of ‘Welcome to Plathville’ and her disdain for the entire Plath family, this week’s episode appeared to tell a much different story– one which viewers were quick to call out on social media.

Following the episode, many fans of the show took to Veronica’s latest Instagram post to let her know that they found her behavior “extremely rude,” with one questioning why she chose to “join in and be so cruel” to Zac.

“I, too, would love to know the answer to that one…”

“ … you know it’s a highly edited version of what happened,” Veronica replied in the comments. “I firmly believe in testing people’s true colors before you [marry] them. My family paid people to test my brother-in-law’s true colors and they turned out fine not for nothing.

“I don’t see their marriage lasting if he’s near that family,” she added, referring to Zac and Lydia’s union.

When another fan wrote that they were surprised to see Veronica supporting Ethan and Micah’s bullying of Zac, Veronica continued to defend her behavior, insisting that, “you have to test people’s true colors” and mentioning again that her family allegedly “paid somebody” to “test” her brother-in-law. In another response, Veronica doubled down on her prediction about Lydia and Zac’s marriage.

“ … They’ll be divorced soon anyways,” she wrote.

While Veronica didn’t respond to all of her critics, that didn’t stop viewers from continuing to take to the comment section to let her know that they were shocked by what they saw on the episode. One fan in particular claimed that, after listening to Veronica “play victim to the Plath family for months,” they were on her side, but their opinion changed after the latest episode of ‘Welcome to Plathville.’

“ … you [ganging] up on [Zac] with those piece of s**t Plath brothers, that was vile,” they wrote. “I never thought you would stoop to their level.”

“I’ll be in my prayer closet praying that the Lord gives you karma, Veronica…and a better sense of fashion because, girl, that dress was a hot mess!”

Others also took to the comment section claiming to have had a change of heart about Micah’s ex, with one person encouraging Veronica to “do better.”

“ … all I will say after watching you on tonight’s episode, is that it was definitely a hard watch seeing three 20-something year olds acting like mean little children – do better/be better especially when you know you are being filmed,” the comment read.

Viewers also accused Veronica of being a “mean girl” that “fits right in” with the very family she’s been trashing online.

“I’ve got the blond hair and the bad attitude!”

“Watching tonight’s episode, you aren’t any better than what you accuse the Plath family of. All I saw was a mean girl,” one person wrote, with another adding, “Very disappointed in her. And you’re right. She’s ‘exactly’ like them. Fits right in.”

While fans online have also been slamming Ethan and Micah in the wake of this week’s episode, neither have addressed their behavior; Lydia and Zac have also yet to address Ethan, Micah and Veronica’s behavior.

  1. Veronicas parents must be so proud of her. NOT….. She looked like she just got off the dancing pole with that dress. She is just jealous of Zac and Lydia’s engagement. Girls like her come a dime a dozen… Girl BYE…..

  2. That lie isn’t even slightly believable. No one’s family pay people to treat someone they dont even know like shit on film… Veronica, justblike Olivia just wzny to stay relevant and have no talent to stay relevant, except stirring up drama its pathetic

    1. Olivia can’t get out of her contract, so in that regard, tlc is the one forcing her to stay on the show.

  3. Last night’s episode was very hard to watch and left me absolutely disgusted by Ethan, Micah and Veronica.

They are judging Zac by his looks and admittedly he is super awkward. But I think he is a good guy and he seems to cherish Lydia. Lydia and Zac act the same. Lydia finds him attractive, Lydia is in love with him and he makes her happy. Isn’t that what any protective and loving brother would wish for his sister?

Ethan and Micah didn’t give a rats ass about “protecting” Lydia. Make no mistake. Ethan and Micah bullied Zac because they could. Zac is very passive and is not confrontational. Despite them being horrible to him from Day 1 he still has tried to connect with them for Lydia because he knows that Lydia loves her brothers. They 100% would not have done any of the shit they did last night if they knew Zac was the type who doesn’t take shit. Ultimately they are cowards and pick on who they deem as weak. Veronica was very unlikeable in this episode. Her mean girl persona was front and center and it was disappointing to see.

Let’s talk about the ridiculous reasonings that Micah, Ethan and Veronica thought they should “test him”. Again that was a pack of lies. How exactly does “testing Zac to make sure he is the one for Lydia help? What did starting multiple fires, throwing a chair in the water, rolling down the hill aiming straight for Zac, being disrespectful the entire day prove about Zac? The only thing it proved is that they are assholes. And Veronica happily joined in.

I hope that Lydia and Zac really do move away from this toxicity. They don’t care about Lydia or they wouldn’t have done everything they could to ruin Zac’s proposal to her. They should be ashamed.

    1. I agree. I felt bad for Zac and Lydia from start to finish. Veronica was also an embarrassment.

Overall, that episode could have used some editing. No need to show every miserable moment of getting people to line up by the pond.

  4. The idea of “testing” someone before a proposal seems idiotic to me, but if you’re the type of immature person to insist on doing so, you certainly shouldn’t choose the literal proposal to test the person! Wtf, a proposal should be one of the happiest and most memorable moments of a person’s life. Any decent family member or friend would want to contribute positively to that situation, especially if they were privileged enough to be asked to take part in the proposal. It’s disgusting to intentionally try to ruin such a special moment for someone you should care about…

    1. I’ve never watched this show. I only know about them after reading things on here. I don’t think I could even stomach watching after reading this. I would go NC if family members acted this way to me/my so.

      1. like ricky, i’ve never seen this show and only know these ‘people’ from what is posted here.
however, i feel confident in saying they (almost) all seem extremely vile and immature, from the weirdo parents right on down the line.
are they supposed to be exemplars of their religion? what a joke. 🙄

        1. That’s too bad. I feel entitled for the full dirt on what when down, complete with video, since I’ve been watching from the beginning. It’s bad enough we didn’t get to see Kim drive into the ditch. LOL.
