Kail Lowry Slams Critics Who Attribute Her Post-‘Teen Mom’ Success to MTV: “I Continued to Better My Life”

“Is it THAT hard to acknowledge how great I am?!”

Days after taking to TikTok to ask that people online stop “discrediting” her parenting, Kail Lowry returned to the platform to accuse critics of also discrediting the accomplishments she’s had since making her MTV debut in 2010.

In a TikTok posted on Wednesday, the mom of seven responded to a comment from a previous video in which one of her followers stated that Kail should be grateful for MTV– the network on which Kail appeared for more than a decade– for helping her get to where she is today.

Rather than agreeing with the individual, Kail insisted that she actually had herself to thank for seeking out the opportunity that MTV had at the time, claiming that being cast by the network was “probably somewhat random” as well as “somewhat [from] the interviews that I did.”

“MTV? That’s a weird way to spell KAIL…”

She also denied that the network had a hand in her accomplishments since she appeared on 16 and Pregnant.

“MTV did not go get my degree for me, okay?” Kail stated. “MTV did not write my books for me. MTV did not start my podcast for me. In fact, MTV wanted to buy my podcast from me. So let’s talk about how I took an opportunity that presented itself … .”

Unlike Kail’s face, some things never change.

Kail appeared on Teen Mom 2 for 11 seasons before leaving the MTV reality series in 2022. Prior to her ‘Teen Mom 2’ exit, Kail had already begun transitioning into the podcast world with Coffee Convos (co-hosted by Lindsie Chrisley), followed by Baby Mamas No Drama (co-hosted by Vee Torres, the wife of Kail’s first baby daddy, Jo Rivera).

Kail also created the Barely Famous podcast, as well as the KILLR Podcast Network, the latter of which she launched in September 2021 to help other people start podcasts. (Kail and Vee ended BMND in October and that same month, Kail and Becky Hayter announced their new podcast, Karma & Chaos.)

Kail, trying to figure out how many more podcasts she has to launch before she gets some respect. (Probably.)

While Kail acknowledged in her TikTok that MTV provided her with certain opportunities, she told fans that she took the money that she made from being on reality TV and used it to build a business.

“ … I continued to better my life,” she said. “So again, you guys are discrediting the work that I did. Yes, MTV helped launch me and propel me into different avenues and different directions. But at the end of the day, there are so many girls in that show that didn’t necessarily start a business or a podcast or get a degree or whatever. And [I’m] not knocking them at all, I’m just saying, like, yes, MTV gave me a cushion, but what is the alternative?

“Hold up, did I just hear someone say ‘cushion?'”

“The alternative would have been for me to sit on welfare, stay on welfare, abuse the system, take it from someone who needed it, when in fact, I turned around and donated and gave back … ,” she continued.

Kail went on to ask if those criticizing her were doing so because they “love to be miserable,” claiming that she didn’t understand where the hate was coming from.

“No idea, Kail…no idea at all…”

“ … I don’t know what this is,” she said. “Yeah, I’m not perfect for sure, but I created a scholarship fund, I donate all the time, I give back every single year for the past five years [or] six years, started three podcasts, a podcast network, wrote four books, I invest my money.

“Like, yes, thank you MTV,” she concluded. “Thank you for giving me the start that I really f**king needed. Thank you so much.”

In the comment section of Kail’s TikTok, many people commended her for what she’s accomplished over the years, with one supporter calling Kail the “definition of self-made,” to which she wrote, “I really try.”

“People are going to hate whether you’re wealthy or on welfare,” another fan wrote. “You picked the harder route and deserve your flowers.”

“Thank you for seeing me,” Kail replied.

Someone in the comments also argued that being affiliated with MTV may have come at a “personal cost” to Kail, presumably due to her sharing certain aspects of her life with the public.

“Pros and cons to everything,” Kail replied to the comment.

  1. why on earth 🌎 does the insufferable kail 🥬 need so much ‘credit’? why can’t she just go about her ‘business’ and focus on her 7️⃣ children and (try to) be cordial with her 4️⃣ baby daddies?

  2. Kail and Chelsea have probably done the best outside of MTV. They may not like it but MTV did make them semi-famous. I think her older kids has a little more stability than the younger ones though. At least, Issic (spelling) seems to be doing good in high school.

  3. Without all that MTV money, she would have likely been a HS dropout, living on welfare and food stamps with 20 kids by 20 different men because she can’t keep her legs shut. Prostitution would have probably been in her future too. She’s disgusting even with the money so more than likely she would have not made anything out of her life if she hadn’t had it. She needs to be canceled ffs.

  4. Oh, for crying out loud! You have a career or whatever you call it because you got knocked up as a teen! And then got into the show (there’s a lot of girls who deliberately got pregnant after the first season in order to make it on, I think one of the girls on it even admitted to doing that, I forgot who). And she’s coming across as Amber now, ranting on TikTok, the latter is an absent mother but how do you have time for these videos having 7 CHILDREN?! She does have a similar ego so I guess this is what the show does to you…it makes you think you are someone special when you are not.

Elliott and Lincoln are old enough to see this and cringe.

    1. C&T do it too. Whenever they talk about if they kept Carly. Like they would have been picked for TM if they were just another bickering teen couple in trailer park.

  5. This is all she has now right? Ranting on TikTok at random comments because her baby daddy’s don’t engage her anymore and have reduced their communication to family wizard?!?!

Also and asking for friend, is this her new “SNATCHED” jawline?

    1. @steven ~ my friend also wants to know about this ‘snatched’ jawline. 🤭😹
also, kail 🥬 using the word ‘snatched’ to refer to any part of herself was beyond cringeworthy. 😬

  6. I’ll never forget when Kail was getting ready for her college graduation and lamenting that she’ll have to start at the bottom after making so much money on TM

  7. Kail may have done the studying and showing uo to class but she’s bit in serious debt because of MTV. She also didn’t start her social media and podcasts with zero following because of MTV. She wouldn’t have been approached to write a book if it wasn’t for MTV. Like it or not, you’d be nothing without MTV

  8. She’s forgetting the part where no one would know who she was of it wasn’t for MTV. She wouldn’t have had the opportunities she had if not for MTV. Podcasts are a dime a dozen. Hers only succeeded because MTV made her a household name. Without them she would just be another cum dumpster collecting food stamps and baby daddies who no one would know .

  9. How can one be so dense? Like girl, literally everything you listed is ONLY possible because of MTV. And with her penchant to spread her legs for anyone with a pulse, she almost certainly would be on welfare still if she didn’t have MTV. She’s giving nepo baby who doesn’t want to admit that her famous parents played the biggest role in her career.

  10. So the alternative for making a good go of life without MTV’s cushion for a decade was…welfare and doing absolutely nothing? ( I can’t believe she actually said that, lol) What in the actual fuck is she on lately? LMAO. She could have gone to school for any number of degrees, she could have gotten a good job, she could have done a great many things all without MTV (like countless other people in the country do every single day). You don’t get a cookie just for being an adult and doing adult things, lol. Most people aren’t actually on welfare and even those who are, the vast majority (over 85% now) ARE working and hustling and doing their best to get by. They’re still out there getting done what they can get done, though. It’s called being a grown up.

No one discredits the work she has put in, everyone knows she has put in work and done things to help get her where she is today (even though she puts more into it than properly raising her kids and giving them a good role model, but, I digress…). Even she admits, apparently without realizing it, that without MTV, she couldn’t and wouldn’t have had any of the opportunities to get where she is. Yes Kail, you’ve done a lot of work to help yourself get where you are today. You don’t need accolades for every little thing you do, lol.

I’m beginning to think she isn’t doing as well financially as she wants people to believe anymore, certainly not as well as she once was. She’s acting like a lunatic lately with all these posts and rants. It seems more like a means to get better engagement because hers is down tremendously from what it once was.
