Actor Channing Tatum Denies Jax Taylor’s Claim That They Were Roommates Years Ago: “Absolutely Not”

“It’s not too late to make it true, Chan…I have plenty of space in my bachelor pad!”

Another day, another instance of The Valley star Jax Taylor telling a lie.

While promoting his upcoming movie Roofman this week on Andy Cohen’s Radio Andy, actor Channing Tatum was questioned about a piece of Bravo lore that began years ago when Jax– whose legal name is Jason Cauchi– claimed that he and Channing had lived together in New York City during the early days of their respective modeling careers.

Although it’s been years since Jax made the ‘roomies’ claim, Andy used the opportunity this week to ask Channing once and for all if Jax was telling the truth.

“Were you the roommate of someone called ‘Jax’ on Vanderpump Rules? [Or someone named] Jason Cauchi?” Andy asked, to which Channing replied, “Absolutely not.”

As Channing started to laugh at the question, Andy proceeded to clarify what exactly he was asking.

“You never lived with this person, or a Tom Sandoval?” Andy asked. “There’s someone called Jason Cauchi on ‘Vanderpump Rules’ who now goes by Jax, who said that in the day, when you were both young models, he was a roommate of yours. Any recollection of this?”

“No,” Channing stated. “I mean, I need to see pictures of him [to be sure] … ”

The actor then explained that models are sometimes thrown into “model houses” together (and that he was once kicked out of one of these setups for fighting with a fellow model) though he said he didn’t believe that Jason/Jax was ever a roommate of his during that time. After Andy pulled up a photo of Jax for reference, Channing still doubted that he and Jax had ever roomed together, though he did state that “all models look the same,” suggesting that he wasn’t absolutely positive.

Channing added that if he and Jax were repped by the same person back in the day, then they likely met each other; however, he said he still didn’t believe he had “ever roomed with” the Bravo star.

“Next you’re going to try to say I was lying about getting my dream hockey job in Florida!”

As longtime Bravo fans may remember, a shirtless (for some reason) Jax claimed on a 2013 episode of Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen that he and Channing had been roommates when Jax first started working in the modeling industry.

“You were roommates with Channing Tatum?!” Andy asked Jax during a game of 2 Truths and a Lie.

“Yeah, that was my first roommate in New York when I first started modeling,” Jax stated.

Jax doubled down on this claim in a 2023 interview with Rolling Stone, telling the outlet that when he moved from Miami to New York in 2002, he was signed with the Ford modeling agency and placed in an apartment with five other guys– one of whom was Channing.

“Now, he got really famous real quick,” Jax said of his former roomie Channing. “He did this Mountain Dew commercial where he flipped a car, and once he got that job he took off.

“…for the record.”

“We lived off peanut butter and jelly and Subway,” Jax continued. “We got some free dinners and got to go to any clubs we wanted, but other than that we were just broke and trying to make a living.”

Jax has yet to respond to Channing’s comments.

  1. Jax is a well known liar but TBF he did put his face in a self imposed witness protection so he perhaps the face Charming Potato lived with was different.

      1. That’s gotta be autocorrect striking imo. I got hit by it like twice in a row last week, and i usually assume people will figure it out.

  2. Jax lies for the sake of lying. He is a self professed pathological liar. I don’t believe anything he says ever.
