Farrah Abraham’s quest to be a cool mom continued this week when the fired Teen Mom star allowed her 16-year-old daughter Sophia to have a set of permanent vampire fangs applied to her teeth– much to the dismay and shock of many of the show’s fans.
In a series of photos and videos posted to social media on Friday, Sophia– who already has a large assortment of body modifications and piercings– revealed that she visited a dentist in Las Vegas who permanently modified two of her teeth to become fangs.
While some fans speculated that Sophia’s new fangs are temporary glue-ons for Halloween, that is not the case. In fact, Sophia’s brand-new biters are meant to last for 10 years or longer!
Sophia’s “fang transformation” was done by Dr. Tom Lawler of Vegas Smile Suite and, according to the website for the dental office, their “permanent fangs are professionally crafted dental modifications that extend or reshape your canine teeth.”
“These procedures use medical-grade materials to create a lasting transformation. Unlike temporary options, permanent fangs become part of your natural tooth structure.”
The tooth modifications were also not cheap.
The website states that permanent fangs “vary significantly in price based on materials and complexity,” with single-tooth enhancements estimated to cost between $800 and $1,200 per tooth. (It appears that Sophia got one tooth done on each side of her mouth.)
The website also claims that “professional dental fangs can last 10-15 years or longer with proper care.”
Sophia’s new smile comes just weeks after the teen revealed on social media that she recently got her first tattoo– a sizable stomach piece featuring multiple bats flying out of her nether region. (As you do…)
The mother-daughter duo reportedly traveled from Texas to Florida to have Sophia tattooed, where Farrah figuratively and literally co-signed on her daughter’s ink application, as doing so in the state of Florida requires minors over the age of 16 to have a parent or guardian present, as well as a notarized state-mandated consent form.
While Sophia’s tattoo debut resulted in Farrah catching some flak on social media for her parenting decisions, it certainly wasn’t the first time for it to happen.
Two years ago, Farrah was criticized for allowing her daughter to get six piercings at once– including snake-bite lower lip piercings– for her 14th birthday. The pierce-a-palooza came just a year after Farrah treated Sophia to a septum piercing for her 13th birthday. (Sophia also has an eyebrow piercing, a tongue piercing and two dermal piercings on her lower back.)
This week’s Dracula-esque smile makeover earned Farrah a new round of judgment from detractors.
“So anything your minor wants is a yes?” one person asked the former MTV star.
Meanwhile, another one of Farrah’s critics demanded that Farrah stop allowing Sophia to drastically (and permanently) change her appearance, writing: “Her mom really needs to step up and promote self love.”
FangGate also led to a number of people in the comments insisting that Sophia would one day regret her many body modifications.
“Girl you’ll regret all of this when you’re older,” one person wrote, with another asking, “I’m all about self-expression, but what happens when it’s time to get a job?”
“You have really gone too far with some of the things you have done for only being 16-17,” another wrote.

So does she think she is a vampire lol.
I could not even figure out what to wear to school at that age, much less color my hair. By the way, my parents would have said no to hair color. I got a tattoo in my 30’s and another in my 40’s, my Mom looked at the big one on my back for a long time and finally said “ It’s always the quiet one.” I am glad I had boundaries, maybe I was too cautious, but I have no regrets about going to school, studying, getting not one but two degrees. Those accomplishments made me feel good about what I did and what I finished. Sophia will have hundreds of photos depicting a child allowed to do whatever she wants, probably those regrets will come in her forties and then the real growing up will happen. Otherwise she may be some kind of “Fans Only” star.
Sophia: “Mom, I want a face tattoo and the tips of my ears carved off so they look like Dracula!”
Farrah: “Great, let me call the camera crew so we can get plenty of photo ops of you ‘expressing yourself’!! And on the way home, I’ll do a little pit stop for another BBL and a suck and tuck!”
I DONT BLAME SOPHIA………what do you expect when you grow up in a f’d up household with a f’d up mom and does anal porn flicks, sells sex toys and treats everyone around her like total sh**.
Does she ever plan on having a Job one day?or a career? No one would ever hire her looking like a frightning Halloween movie character. It’s just not realistic. It’s a child – not an adult making kid choices and her mother trying to be her friend letting her do whatever she wants. You do more harm than good without boundaries for your kids.. Sophia is watching too many vampire movies and wants to be one apparently, and Farah doesn’t care. Wierd people doing wierd things 😈
…not everyone will work in a corporate environment. There are tons of things she can do looking so alternative; artist, musician, writer, designer…hell, even I have worked in corporate creative fields where some colleagues looked this extreme. They were damn good at their jobs, and times have changed.
Most perfect as you do dropped in there after tat description.
On the actual subject matter, that poor girl having who she does as a mother. I hope she has a future in a career of than her moms. She is so young to be making such drastic decisions.
This is sad.
Many people went through a goth stage in their teens, who no longer are goth, so why not stick to temporary things to express yourself, like hair dye and make up and hair styles, and even some piercings as they can be taken out, but not permanent things at the young age of 16, the things people are into at 16 is not the same as they are when they are an adult. Gosh if I got a tattoo at 16 it would probably be lord of the rings or some big band, which I am not into anymore now I am an adult lol
It’s one thing to allow your teen to express themselves with clothes, hair dye/styles, and even piercings, but making a permanent decision/modification at that age is a hard no. Why not just get temporary fangs, or a henna tat until she’s 18? Farah is a terrible mom. I really hope Sophia turns out ok.
Not a psychologist here, nor a Farrah defender, but since Farrah wasn’t able to choose for herself as a kid, she seems to be over-compensating for her own daughter (ie: give her anything she wants). F wasn’t able to choose to be a mother, or grieve Derek, nada.
At this point she’s just rage baiting people and Sophia is in on it.
It’s their collective grift. Sad, but it’s a way for them to stay in the spotlight.
Like mother like daughter I suppose. They don’t like who they see in the mirror and they do all these extreme things.
Imagine the pillow cases at that house. The horror.
stay lit
Nibs is back!!!!! Stay lit!!!
Nibsy! Glad to be seeing you pop up every so often again.
Nibs… Stop abandoning us! We need your commentary here just as much as we need The Ashley
Yeah, another horrible modification that just screams “I’m a healthy, happy psychologically stable 16-year-old girl!” I pray for Sophia, as a mom of 16-year-old twin girls. It’s HARD ENOUGH being a teen girl in 2025. She’s being used for content by her aged-out, judgement-lacking mother. Sophia needs privacy & stability, and a mother who puts her needs FIRST. So sad.
Oof, I can’t even imagine trying to be a teen nowadays. Not only social media, but now AI fake pics and video, the mounting gender wars, etc. I hope your daughters do well and thrive.
I think it’s so strange when people applaud Farrah for letting Sophia “express herself.” At 16, you don’t know who you are or what you will be. That’s why you need parents to guide you, to stop you from making decisions that have long-lasting effects. Good parenting doesn’t mean saying yes to anything your teen wants, Farrah.
I think they only mean piercings, clothing, makeup, hair. Most people probably don’t approve of vampire teeth.
At this point nothing Farrah does will surprise me. What does surprise me is that there are professionals who agreed to do these procedures on a 16yo girl. Particularly one who’s mother clearly has whatever mental disorder causes a person to get so many cosmetic procedures she looks like a muppet. Be better.
If “It’s not a phase, mom!” Were a parenting technique
There are reasons why a young girl goes out of her way to make herself as unattractive as possible, especially when she’s been exposed to such a highly sexualized lifestyle. Most 16/17 yo girls want to look as conventionally attractive as possible, unless she is actively avoiding attention. This is just so sad and it’s a shame DCFS won’t investigate this
Yup, Farrah is allowing this on purpose because anything to keep herself in the news. While Sophia is just a teen having all these weird ideas and Farrah just says “Sure!” to all of them. Why do you want her to be your best friend so badly?! She is your child and you are her mom….and this is why guys, you don’t have kids so young.
Crazy how people are so upset about this but have no problem with giving children puberty blocks when they have a mental illness and think they’re the opposite sex. That’s permanent body modification also but people support it. Freaking crazy world we live in.
“Delaying puberty” (and sometimes they’re genuinely used to hold off extremely early puberty) and “installing fangs” are kind of different things.
Puberty blocks are not permanent and when you stop taking the meds, puberty starts. So, unlike with vampire fangs, you can change your mind.
Insane that you even have dentists who does this. In my country you would have to find a fishy plastic surgeon or maybe even go abroad.
Like I’ve said before, I used to own a tattoo shop and this exact reason is why we never tattooed anyone under 18. I personally made the choice not to get my first tattoo until I was 21.
Dyeing your hair? Temporary. Clothes? They change as your kid changes because at 16, you’re constantly evolving. But tattoos? Absolutely not. I wouldn’t let my 16 year old get one. If they end up hating it, they’re stuck either paying for painful laser removal or covering it with something even bigger.
But letting a 16 year old get permanent fang veneers where they literally grind their natural teeth down is fucking insane to me. That’s not just bad judgment, that’s beyond irresponsible as a mother.
Farrah has openly said she has body dysmorphia. You can see it in the endless cycle of surgeries and injections. Even when she had a bad allergic reaction to her lip fillers, she still kept doing it over and over. Sophia literally grew up filming her mom getting butt injections. That poor kid has only ever seen an unhealthy obsession with looks and now it’s shaping how she sees herself, too. I feel so bad for Sophia. She has Farrah as an example. I don’t know that Sophia even has a normal teenage life with normal teenage friends. I know at 12 years old Farrah was posting pictures of Sophia on a date with her boyfriend. Again she was 12 years old. Sophia is growing up too fast.
Farrah is 100% addicted to plastic surgery and injections which is also body modification. Now Sophia seems like she is following her mother’s example. Going from piercings to tattoos to now fang veneers is scary. What’s next?
If they didn’t get so much media coverage maybe they would go away to lead a somewhat normal life. Farrah isn’t capable of taking care of herself let alone raising an impressionable child. That child needed to be taken away from her by Farrahs dad. So sad what this child is turning out to be. I really don’t even want to know the next escapade.
I disagree re: without media coverage they’d go away to lead a more normal life. Someone who sells their used poopy toilet paper in jars will not suddenly become more normal in the right environment. Not to mention Farrah actively courts media attention. Farrah would just rely more on social media if outside media publications stopped talking about her.
I sometimes wonder if Sophia is trying to grow up quietly, right in front of everyone. Almost like she’s hiding in plain sight. If she wiped off the makeup and stripped away the performance, would anyone truly recognize her? This child has been bullied into near invisibility, and while I do see echoes of her mother’s manipulative tendencies, I also see something sharper. Cunning, yes, but maybe also a survival instinct.
I genuinely wish Sophia the best. She was handed a brutal deck in a world where none of the adults around her seem equipped to raise a child with care. Watching Deb and Michael stumble through their first attempt at parenting feels like witnessing a slow-motion crash. Like all the TM kids, Sophia deserved more. She still does.
Very insightful.
I thought the same. Additionally, Sophia is going hard for the opposite aesthetic her mother has. Maybe that’s because she wants to physically show the difference between herself and Farrah? So much of the goth stuff back in the day was the “but I’m different!” teenage angst.
Yes, you are supposed to support your child and who they are becoming as a PERSON….which is not the same as permanent cosplay. HER BRAIN IS STILL DEVELOPING. This is what you have parents for! To tell your undeveloped brain that some decisions are not good to make before you’re 21 because your world is too small right now to know what you will want permanently. Per law, as usual, Farrah is doing all of this for her own attention and to feed her own personality disorder. I feel so sorry for how screwed up that kid must be.
Honestly who cares?! Not my kid, not my business! Tattoos are removable, fangs are removable, piercings are removable. Nothing is truly permanent. Farrah is a top notch idiot, and Sophia is a product of her environment but I don’t blame her at all, I actually feel sorry for her. Farrah has no friends, no man, no parents, no real job, no hobby’s, other than cosmetic procedures.. all she has is her daughter & I can not even imagine a world with a mother like Farrah! The kid never stood a chance.. so get the tattoo, get the piercings, get the fangs.. I feel like it doesn’t matter anyway, idk what exactly but something tells me in 2-3 yrs we will be hearing how she has went no contact with Farrah. I know I would if I were her daughter.
How do we know she isn’t doing the rebellious activities you mentioned?
This sort of thing can become like an addiction to some. I have a few tattoos myself but have known people who get obsessed about them. A family member had her tongue split so looks like a snake now. Sophie with fangs is kind of disturbing. What next?
😬
What is wrong with her! Honestly Sophia is only 16 and like every teenager is trying new looks etc, and while it’s great that she accepts and supports this, it’s so incredibly wrong to allow these permanent modifications and tattoos , this could of waited a couple of years till Sophia was older, out of school and starting to mature
Okay, so, when the tattoo story came out, I supported it and was downvoted to oblivion. But this?! This?! What the actual fuck, Farrah. Isn’t there a less permanent way for her to express herself that she can do on her own, as and adult, if she still wants it? I don’t mean to judge, it’s the last thing I want to do. But I feel like the permanent vampire fang modification is sort of way above and beyond what is typical in 2025 and something that should 1000% not be done to a 16 year old. Tattoo I get – lots of 16 year olds get tattoos. This tooth thing? It’s WAY too far and something that should wait until it’s not something that is cool at 16. I feel like a hypocrite now for telling people to chill about the tattoo. Because this just makes me sad. Not because I’m judging Sophia or think it’s wrong – I think it’s fantastic if it is what adult Sophia wants. I think it’s insane to pay for your 16 year old to do this when 25 year old Sophia may have permanently destroyed her smile. This isn’t a stomach tattoo that is easily covered with a shirt. It’s her smile! This was flat wrong.
Truthfully, what would impress me more is how Sophia is doing good in the world. Right now, she is just a rebellious teen with her mom’s support.
I mean is she a rebellious teen? That would be someone doing drugs, smoking, drinking and having sex. Probably stealing sneaking out. I do think it is too much but as long as she is actually a good citize. I mean. Not my thing but as long as she is ok. Does not make any of this body modification ok or sane lol
