Lydia Plath Gives Surprising Update on Her Relationship with Her Family & Reveals Why She Won’t Be Celebrating Halloween

“I’m choosing to forget all the fire-starting and barrel-rolling done by the Brothers Plath…”

Lydia Plath says her family has made big strides to treat each other better, months after Welcome to Plathville viewers watched as her mom, brothers and their significant others did their best to ruin all of Lydia and her husband Zac Wyse‘s wedding activities.

During a Q&A session on Instagram earlier this week, Lydia gave fans an update on where her relationships with her family members stand currently, revealing that the Plaths are treating her and Zac better these days.

In addition, Lydia gave her thoughts on Halloween, a “dark” holiday the very religious ‘Plathville’ star says she has no interest in taking part in.

As ‘Welcome to Plathville’ viewers will remember, Lydia’s brothers Micah and Ethan, as well as her mother Kim were less-than-supportive (and sometimes downright bizarre or cruel) about Lydia marrying Zac. After Zac invited the family to be present for his proposal to Lydia, Ethan, Micah and their significant others did everything they could to give Zac a hard time— from Ethan lighting a fire in the spot Zac planned to propose, to Micah nearly knocking Zac down by barrel-rolling down a hill into him. The brothers went on to basically haze Zac by asking him embarrassing and rude questions at a gathering after the proposal.

#NeverForget

The Plath family continued to try to ruin Lydia and Zac’s joy at the rehearsal dinner and the wedding itself, with Kim stating that Lydia could be making the “biggest mistake of her life” by getting hitched to Zac.

According to Lydia’s Q&A answer on Tuesday, though, the Plaths have made amends for their abhorrent actions.

“We’re sorry we were mean and tried to light your groom on fire … and stuff…”

“Did anyone apologize for how they acted towards Zach yet?” someone asked her.

“Yes!” Lydia replied. “Everyone has sincerely apologized and owned up to any way they hurt us. And we’re all working on growing and communicating together.”

“I think it’s fair to say, though, that SOME of the Plaths need to work harder on that than others…”

Lydia has stated on Instagram recently that she and Zac have actually been spending a lot of time with her brothers and family members.

“The other day we stayed up till 3 a.m. talking about how we can all better care for one another,” she wrote.

While Lydia has been reluctant to reveal if she and the other Plaths will be doing another season of ‘Welcome to Plathville,’ she did state that she has made it a habit not to rely on the income she makes from appearing on the show. She claimed that, when she started appearing on the show during Season 1, she got a “regular” job and lived off that income instead.

“I saved everything [I made] from the show and worked 5-7 miscellaneous jobs at 16 and then became a bank teller at 17,” Lydia wrote during her Q&A session. “I continued working and saving and that [not] only ground[ed] me but it also helped me save for my future.”

(It’s unknown if Lydia currently has a job outside of appearing on ‘Welcome to Plathville.’)

Finally, Lydia gave some insight into her feelings on Halloween, which is on Friday, October 31. Lydia was asked by a fan how she and Zac will be celebrating the spooky day, and Lydia made it clear she wasn’t a fan of Halloween.

“We won’t be celebrating Halloween,” Lydia replied. “I know it may seem all fun and a great time to socialize but I know it’s a dark holiday and therefore don’t desire to participate.”

“I’ll be in my prayer closet, praying for you heathens if anyone needs me!”

Lydia added that she’s not a “big fan of being spooked.”

“Maybe I’ll stay home and bake a pumpkin pie for my hubby,” she wrote.

  1. I don’t know why Christians suddenly are trying to
Make Halloween something evil- it began in very religious Ireland- a religious holiday- it came about to scare away evil spirits. It’s still the same-we Christians need to stop giving evil things so much power- we Chrineed to stop the negativity!!

  2. What do these fundamentalist Christians think everyone else is doing on Halloween? Human sacrifice? I just saw a TikTok of a Christian influencer who said, “We don’t celebrate Halloween. We just dress up, have fun, and get candy.” Uh…that’s EXACTLY how non-Christians celebrate Halloween, you dingbat. 🤦‍♀️

Bless her heart. There is zero chance this is true. Can you imagine Ethan doing this? And I doubt he apologized either.

Instead of worrying about the darkness of Halloween she needs to be more concerned about the darkness that is in the Plath’s hearts. Especially Ethan, Kim and Issac.

Or just pretend like everyone loves each other like they all love the Lord and bake a pie for her hubby.🥧
