Jenelle Evans‘ ex-husband David Eason has some explaining to do!
The Ashley can exclusively reveal that a North Carolina judge is seemingly siding with Jenelle regarding her demand that David be held in contempt of court for their divorce court order.
As The Ashley told you last month, the fired Teen Mom star asked a judge to make her swamp-dwelling former soulmate appear in court and explain why he has failed to pay off loans and debts he acquired from their divorce settlement agreement in July. Jenelle claimed in her motion filed October 28 that David has not taken possession of the loans for items he was “awarded” in the divorce, and has not shelled out any money toward those loans. Because Jenelle’s name remains on the loans, David’s non-payment of them is “now negatively impacting” Jenelle’s credit score.
The Ashley can reveal that, on Thursday, Judge Sarah B. McPherson— who handled Jenelle and David’s divorce case– issued an “Order to Show Cause,” demanding that David drag himself into the courtroom and explain why he has chosen to deliberately disobey a court order.
“It [is] appearing to the Court from the facts stated in the verified Motion that there is cause to believe that [David] willfully violated
this Court’s previous Order without just cause or excuse,” Judge McPherson’s order— which was obtained by The Ashley– states.
Judge McPherson has ordered David to appear on December 1 at the Columbus County, North Carolina, courthouse and “show cause, if any, why Defendant should not be held in contempt of Court for failure to comply with the terms of this Court’s previous Order.”
The Judge also wants David— who currently has a job cleaning pipes after spending years as Jenelle’s employment-challenged house husband— to bring any and all documents that show his income over the past six months, as well as the value of his assets and his debts for the same time period.
As The Ashley previously told you, David has been shacking up in his broken-down boat (which he was awarded in the divorce settlement) since September, when he and his girlfriend Kenleigh Heatwole broke up and she kicked him out of her home.
Back in July, David and Jenelle sat through hours of mediation to divide the assets they acquired before and during their marriage, including their infamous home on The Land in North Carolina. As The Ashley told you, Jenelle was given the home on The Land, but David was awarded neighboring property that houses his tool shed.
In addition to that property and the boat(erhome), David also snagged Jenelle’s BMW, which is currently in Las Vegas where Jenelle lives. He was ordered to take over the payments for the car, but it appears that he has failed to do so in the months since the agreement was made. David was also awarded nearly all of the couple’s other cars, motorcycles, ATVs, and motorized toys, some of which have debts attached to them that David was supposed to take over the payments for.
Jenelle is also making payments to David for a while to help equalize the 50/50 split of assets. She has agreed to pay him more than $30,000. (This is not alimony/spousal support or anything to do with child support, just to note.)
Because David has allegedly failed to keep up his end of the divorce deal, Jenelle is asking the judge to make David pay her attorney’s fees, and tax the cost of her filing this action to David. She also asks that the court award her “such other reliefs the Court deems just and proper.”
Jenelle and David already had a court date scheduled for December 1, as the exes were due to begin their custody battle over their daughter Ensley. Currently, Ensley resides in Las Vegas with Jenelle and hasn’t seen David in more than a year. It is unknown if custody will still be covered at the hearing, given that the contempt order proceedings are now scheduled to take place that day.

I dunno… maybe because he literally has NEVER been held accountable in a court of law before?
He’s committed serious crimes among his massive rap sheet, and NADA.
Yeah, he willfully has done jack shit in regards to the court orders. He’ll skate. He always does. I honestly do not think he will ever pay for anything more than a “Mr. Trashman. This is unacceptable. You have to make it right. see us in a month” “You didn’t make it right. see us in six months, and go to this program.” “You didn’t do anything we ordered. It is unacceptable! case closed.”
His pattern of behavior. His rap sheet 26 miles long. Serious proven allegations. Repeat crimes. (guns, drugs, violence (threats of and with a deadly weapon, recklessly at that), distruction of property, terroristic and generic harassment, abuse, child abuse, domestic) He’s treated better than a dumb connected squeaky clean teen with an itty-bitty misdemeanor.
He and Ryan are deeply upsetting. At least Ryan can be chalked up to some court connections and his rich “upstanding family” corruption… WTF is up with David? How is he so coated in teflon? The system is so fucking broken. Shit like this makes me not so against the 3rd strike rule.
I have never understood going after someone, that doesn’t have money, for substantial amounts of money… He’s just going to let these get repossessed/go into default… Going after him to “pay her attorney fees” isn’t going to get her very far. They are a hot mess either way…
I agree David should have taken over the loan payments months ago, as per their divorce agreement. However, I’m confused as to why the BMW he was awarded is still in Las Vegas? If hes supposed to take over payments, shouldn’t he have the car? Maybe Jenelle is waiting for him to put his name on the loan prior to returning the car.
I think hes going to have to sell a lot of the toys tbh, or have them repossessed. Dude is still living on a broken boat, even though he has a job.
What a waste of court time and resources.
He’ll manage to talk his way out of it like every other time. This trash merchant seems to have the knack of getting away with anything.
