On this week’s episode of Seeking Sister Wife, Dannielle Merrifield struggles with the realization that her husband Garrick Merrifield is once again taking another wife, while attempting to reassure herself that the couple’s legal union is just “a piece of paper.”
As fans of the TLC series know, Dannielle and Garrick– who share three children and chose to live a plural marriage lifestyle after more than 10 years of living monogamously– legally divorced in 2020 in order for Garrick to marry their former wife Roberta.
While the couple’s union with Roberta did not last, nor did their following relationship with a woman named Nathalia, viewers have watched this season as Dannielle and Garrick have opened their hearts to Lorrana– who, like Roberta and Nathalia, is also Brazilian– with Garrick and Lorrana moving forward in their relationship and obtaining a marriage license on Monday’s episode.
In People’s exclusive clip of the episode, Lorrana and Garrick head inside of a Colorado courthouse, leaving Dannielle to wait outside alone and grapple with her feelings.
“I’m trying not to get emotional,” Dannielle says. “I know it’s a piece of paper. It is … I know it’s just a piece of paper, but it still makes me think about when Garrick and I got our piece of paper. You know, we were very young … [it] just makes me think about the things we went through … .”
Dannielle goes on to recall the past relationship troubles she and Garrick experienced with Roberta and Nathalia, admitting that, because she and Garrick “considered really divorcing each other” at one point, her husband’s impending union to Lorrana “hits a point in my heart.” Dannielle then reveals that she’s still struggling to trust Lorrana’s intentions, as well.
“I think trusting Lorrana … that she really loves me, you know, and our family and she’s in it for all of us,” she says. “It’s a little emotional.”
Dannielle adds that she’s also trying to reassure herself that Garrick and Lorrana’s legal marriage will not impact her own relationship with her husband.
“I know that it doesn’t change Garrick’s heart with me or my heart with him,” she explains. “But somehow it makes me feel a little bit less, like, tied to Garrick.
“I don’t know why and I know that’s stupid probably, but it’s just papers, right?” Dannielle continues.

He wants to f*ck Brazilian women and she doesn’t want to divorce him so she plays along with this “God told me to do it” bs. She needs to get herself some dignity ASAP
He is a real scumbag, honestly. You can tell that she does NOT want him to be with anyone BUT her, but she agrees because of what I assume is low self esteem and low self worth. It’s sad. He’s gross
I never had a problem with plural marriage. Then I realized how badly these men manipulate these poor women.

She’d also be pretty fucked from a legal standpoint due to the divorce, which just goes to show she’s every bit as stupid as she is pathetic.
I will never be convinced that she’s wanted this. She seems brainwashed by Garrick who convinced her it’s what God wanted. She goes through this process solely to keep him happy. She literally has to make every sacrifice during these “relationships”. Then again…. it’s her life to throw away.
Straight up, she makes me embarrassed to be a woman. She’s beyond pathetic. And he’s so gross, always crying like a little bitch, as if his religious rationalizations aren’t sickening enough!

I don’t know who Jasmine is, but I would like to know how much Ick (what he’s called on more than one forum) wasted on Roberta and Nathalia, who both got money and vacations, courtesy of both Ick and Dannielle! He is gross, and has anyone else ever seen anyone who looks goofier in a cowboy hat? Ick groomed Danni, no question about it. He’s a sicko wannabe cult leader, that uses God for his perverted lifestyle. It’s beyond sick.

He is one of the creepiest guys I have ever seen. I don’t know he continues to brainwash women. I have watched Dannielle cry through multiple seasons. Garrick has now been through 4 or 5 women now. I’ve lost count. Clearly she doesn’t want this sister wife bullshit. He completely disregards her feelings looks at her with that creepy stare and says “But God put it in my heart to do this. This is what God said”.🙄I used to feel bad for her but at this point she is just pathetic. Her calling after Lorena constantly with “SISTER! SISTER!” is weird. They have a sister’s room for God’s sake.🤣Couldn’t she have just found a friend?
He is by far the creepiest guy on TV. I agree, I have no sympathy for her. Her parents walking around like it’s normal too are dn freaks, all for a place to live. These people are beyond vile.
