“7 Little Johnstons” Star Anna Johnston Calls Out Parents for Preventing Her Siblings from Having a Relationship with Her: “What Type of Parent Does That?”

“Thanks a lot, Ma and Pa!”

Anna Johnston had a lot to say about the last few episodes of 7 Little Johnstons, calling out her parents for allegedly keeping her siblings from having a relationship with her amid their own feud with her.

In a video posted to TikTok on Saturday, Anna— who is currently estranged from her mom Amber and father Trent and her siblings— discussed a few scenes from recent episodes of the show in which her family spoke poorly about her. She also addressed a recent scene showing her meeting up with her brother Alex and sister Emma to discuss the estrangement, informing fans that things did not actually play out as it was portrayed on TV.

Anna told fans that she was actually unaware of some of the hurtful things that her family had said about her, many of which she wasn’t even aware of until she saw clips from recent episodes.

“One was the gathering of the six of them at the table…I don’t know how, as parents, you could get everybody together and gang up on and be all on one side and pretty much tell them, ‘Do what you want’ and talk all negative. What type of family does that?” Anna stated. “Me, if I was a mom, I would literally be like, ‘Yes, as parents we have issues [with our daughter], but that does not stop you guys from having a sibling relationship.’

Anna then claimed that her parents are directly preventing some of her siblings from being around her.

“My mother has stopped Emma and I from having a relationship,” Anna said. “She has told her not to communicate with me, not to text me and not to post [on social media] about me. It has been told. What type of parent does that?!”

Anna also disputed her parents’ on-camera claims that they have tried to communicate with her.

“When they say ‘we try to reach out,’ [it is] the film crew who tries to reach out!” Anna said. “The film crew tries to reach out [to me] to try to create scenes. Because I know the next episode is Mom and Dad and I talking at the coffee shop. That’s not them wanting to [talk to me]. That’s the film crew wanting to them to film.”

Anna insisted that her siblings did not initiate contact with her because they wanted to reconcile, as the recent episode of “7 Little Johnstons” made it seem.

“Alex and Emma didn’t text me,” she said. “Those text messages? Never happened. They never wanted to talk to me or anything like that. They never wanted to do a lunch/dinner or whatever. That was for the film crew. I literally said, ‘I just want to have a dinner. What Mom and Dad are mad at me about, what, as a 25-year-old, they’re getting onto me about, has nothing to do with the siblings, so it made no sense… But, of course, Alex came charging and charging and it made no sense.”

According to Anna, Emma didn’t even want to do the made-for-TV meetup.

“This was SO not worth the free tacos.”

“We were texting on the side, hating it and not wanting to do it, but she had to,” Anna claimed. “She had to do it for filming. She did not agree with some of the things my parents did.”

As The Ashley previously reported, the family feud was taken to new heights last weekend, when Anna was not present at her sister Liz’s wedding to Brice Bolden. Anna later confirmed that she had not been invited to the wedding, but said she would have gone had her sister extended an invitation to her.

During a recent episode, Liz stated that Anna should be contacting them if she wants to see her siblings.

“Anna has not reached out to me at any point asking how her niece is doing, how Leighton’s doing,” Anna told the cameras. “My siblings and I are like, ‘OK if she’s having a hard time of wanting to fix things with Mom and Dad, that’s her thing. But if she really wanted to hang out and fix things with her siblings, she could message us. She could reach out to us.'”

Anna’s family members have yet to respond to her latest comments about them.

“7 Little Johnstons” airs Tuesdays on TLC.

  1. I’ve read where Liz has her own money (at least a million) and she gets paid per episode, why does she act like she can’t afford to buy her own home??

  2. Anna is the only one with common sense. The family has drank too much of the Trent & Amber’s Kool-Aid. They should not have brought the other kids into their own problem. They will regret it one day. They have brought Anna down to a new low and I hate that for her. Of course Liz isn’t going to reach out because they just bought her and Brice a lot to live on. Nothing short of being brainwashed by the supposedly parents. They even sound like Trent & Amber when they are dogging Anna. You are worthy Anna so don’t let T & A bring you down. You have accomplished so much like buying your own home. Trent & Amber probably hate the fact that you have done such a good job for yourself. This show should be cancelled for talking so bad about her. The rest of your siblings should do exactly what you did and not ask for help.

  3. It’s truly sad when parents and their children don’t speak. Trent and Amber should not turn this issue into a family issue. You leave the other kids out of it. It’s not there issue. I do think think that Trent and Amber treat Anna differently then the rest of the kids.
Liz get pregnant they let her move in with the boyfriend, help with babysitting, buy the a lot for a home. Never heard much disappointment in Liz like ya hear about Anna.Anna is more of an independent person, she wants to make it on her own and Trent and Amber can’t stand it.

  4. I agree with Anna. I noticed it when Trent was speaking specifically to the other kids and he said it without saying it that they had to act the same way toward Anna. He then followed up with “You can do what you want”, but he had already laid out his and ambers expectations. Instead of really trying to reach her, he acts like a teenager.
