Tyler Baltierra insists he’s found peace regarding his and wife Catelynn Lowell’s complicated (and currently non-existent) relationship with their bio daughter Carly, whom the couple placed for adoption in 2009.
As fans of ‘Teen Mom’ know, while Tyler and Cate once had a close relationship with Carly and her parents, Brandon and Teresa Davis. However, Cate revealed last year that the couple had blocked her from communicating with them, allegedly for sending too many updates and text messages. In the months that followed, both Cate and Tyler proceeded to call out Carly’s parents publicly for no longer allowing the teen to have contact with them or their three daughters.
Despite Tyler (and Cate) continuing to speak/post content about either Carly or adoption in general, Tyler claimed last week that he’s made peace with the situation. He shared this “inner peace” development in response to a fan comment on one of his latest social media posts– a video in which the father of three reflected on that difficult decision he and Cate made back in 2009 to place Carly.
“Ty you are an amazing father, watching you grow up on ‘Teen Mom’ is something that is magical,” the fan wrote. “You guys will always be [Carly’s] mom and dad, you are truly an inspiration to all young dads out there! One day you will get to share your story with her, just have to wait until she is ready to hear.”
Tyler went on to respond to the comment, insisting that it isn’t “necessary to wait” for 16-year-old Carly to be ready to hear what he and Cate have to say, as he’s already made peace with the fact that a moment of reconciliation may never happen.
“I have so much peace & faith in her own spiritual wisdom & autonomy, that one day…we’ll either all sit around a bonfire together talking about how wild of a ride life is or we won’t,” he wrote. “It’s all about where her journey leads her & if not, that’s also okay, it’s simply divinity’s orchestra at work.”
While Tyler claims he’s leaving the situation with Carly up to fate, he said he’ll always be “applauding from the sidelines for her strength and courage to follow her intuition.”
“Her spirit is strong, I feel it & that strength gives me immense peace,” he continued.
Tyler went on to post a screenshot of the fan exchange to his Instagram Story, while telling fans that he trusts that Carly’s “spiritual wisdom” will know what’s best for her, even more so than his “human paternal instincts of desired connection.”
“ … THAT faith is what brings peace,” he added.
Since Brandon and Teresa cut off contact between them and Carly last year, Tyler and Catelynn have been very outspoken against adoption. Earlier this year, the ‘Teen Mom’ stars were very vocal about their specific adoption, as well as things that Brandon and Teresa have said and done.
In late May, Cate and Ty announced that while they would continue to speak out about (and against) adoption, they would no longer publicly discuss specifics of their own adoption. Months later, Catelynn publicly denied reports that her and Tyler’s decision to stop talking directly about Carly and her parents was due to Brandon and Teresa taking legal action to silence the ‘Teen Mom’ stars.

Spiritual wisdom? This grifter needs to get a job.
I remember to them admitting they don’t always acknowledge Carly’s birthday and are not consistent with sending gifts and cards. I also remember an episode where they were extremely late because Cate was creating some BS scrapebook for Carly that she decided to do at the last minute.
My point is Carly is convenient when Carly is convenient.
If these two had jobs and with raising three little girls while working, Carly would not be the top of their thinking list.
Also, Carly I’m sure is thriving, far better than she would have with these two at the time. If you go back and remember how they were living or if they did, perhaps they would get a better handle on how grateful they should be that she didn’t grow up with such dysfunction.
These two are stunted mentally. Never moved on from 16.

They’ve turned into the entire reason they put her up for adoption in the first place. (Toxic dysfunction) and they just cannot see the forest for the trees here.
I don’t think MTV helped. Giving her up became their livelihood, which became their identities in a warped twisted sense that is so far beyond reason that I don’t think they ever will be able to stop doing what they are doing.
It’s so odd for them to keep publicly yammering on about a child that is NOT THEIRS! Grow up, shut up and leave her alone! Creeps.
I wonder if they realize that if they would have kept Carly…
1.) MTV most likely would never have picked up their story, as they were on there because they chose the adoption option.
2.) If MTV chose them, they most likely would have been a one and done, just like the many others who didn’t have their stories chosen for the duration of the series.
3.) They would still be living in poverty, with Grandpa Butch in and out of jail, and April and her cigarette smoke hovering with her drug addiction/anger issues/unstable parenting in the background. The kid would be the next generation of trailer trash.
And also…
If they just would have respected Brandon and Theresa’s request of keeping Carly’s privacy instead of exploiting her for MTV money, they would still have visits with their daughter. They chose money over that relationship because Carly was the only thing keeping them relative on MTV.
And despite their opportunties, they have done nothing with their lives. Things are going to get really financially interesting now that MTV is gone and there’s no money left for pet pigs and support horses.
If hes a peace with it, why do him and his goofy wife keep talking about her, Brandon and Teresa? I wish they both would fade away into oblivion forever. Im so sick of and disgusted with these two.
So, I actually believe that he is at peace with whatever Carly’s decides, because I don’t think this has been about Carly for a very very long time. I think Tyler recognizes that talking about Carly and stirring up drama is the thing that keeps him relevant. The reality is that no one really cares when he talks about his three daughters. That won’t make the news. But, any mention of Carly gets traction. And that’s why he does it. Regardless of the effect it may have on Carly, her parents, or even his daughters. He’s a self-righteous grifter who has no marketable skills. Carly is his cash cow and he’s been able to monetize her for the last 16 years.
Watching their 16 and Pregnant episode they talked about how they wanted the baby to have a stable home with educated and professional parents. They also mentioned how their homes were unstable/disfunctional and not the place to raise a child. They made a very adult decision back then and sadly seem to have gotten more immature as time went on.

(I know Carly won’t want to but I really would love to hear her side of it when she grows older, she could title it “Being talked about in media from someone I barely knew” or something like that)
These two made this fantasy in their mind where Carly is crying every night as to why she doesn’t have her bio parents raising her
…when in reality she HAS parents who are raising her and is emotionally attached to them way more than she ever was to Cate&Ty. And their fans are equally deranged.

I’d definitely read that book. I’m sure her friends talk about this all the time. Just like Leah’s talk about Amber. How terrible. Maybe, just maybe, I hope they actually somehow have good friends who don’t bring it up.
When Carly turns 18, I can almost guarantee there will be police handcuffs.
Probably just on Tyler, but maybe Catelynn too but with harassment and stalking claims as well for both.

So now Carly is flawed when she doesnt contact them, that’s what he is saying.
He’s also making a passive aggressive dig at Brandon and Theresa by talking about Carly’s autonomy. The underlying message is that this is all her parents’ doing and going no contact wasn’t Carly’s choice. He’s so transparent.
They will never be Carly’s mom and dad. They’ll only ever be dna contributors and birth giver
