The Challenge star Tony Raines and his wife Alyssa Giacone announced on Christmas that they’re welcoming a new addition to their family this summer.
“Baby RAINES coming JUNE 2026,” Tony shared on Instagram. “After three long years, it’s finally our turn for a new little bundle of joy.”
Tony then revealed that he and Alyssa have struggled with miscarriage as well as infertility since welcoming their daughter Isla in 2016.
“Most people don’t know, but three years ago on September 27th, we lost our baby at 11 weeks and 3 days,” Tony wrote. “We spent time healing, physically, emotionally, and spiritually. We grieved, we grew, we got married, and quietly kept hoping that one day we’d get to share happier news.
“Trying again wasn’t easy,” Tony wrote. “Month after month of negatives, ovulation strips, appointments, bloodwork, screenings… the emotional toll it takes on you as a person and as a couple is something you can’t put into words. We reached a point where we finally said, ‘If it doesn’t happen by this December, we’ll stop trying and be thankful for what we have.’
“And then, when we least expected it… everything changed.”
Tony wrote that Alyssa took a pregnancy test on October 14— their second wedding anniversary— and they were shocked when it came back positive.
“After all this time. Right when we were ready to let go. Our miracle finally found us,” Tony wrote. “This journey has been long, heavy, and emotional… but so incredibly worth it. We are thankful, we are humbled, and we are so, so grateful for this tiny blessing.”
He also encouraged others struggling with infertility to stay hopeful.
“We know this time of year when the pregnancy announcements are flowing it can be really hard for all the families out there praying for their turn! We were right there with ya’ll and understand the pain, so I just want to say DONT GIVE UP!” he wrote. “This little one is proof that healing is real, joy comes back, and miracles can grow in the places we once thought were ruined. Hope after loss is real. Our little answered prayer is on the way.”
Tony and Alyssa were high school sweethearts and have been married since 2023. Their daughter Isla is nine, just a few months younger than Tony’s other daughter Harper, whom he shares with ex Madison Channing Walls, his costar on The Real World: Skeletons. Harper is being raised by her mom’s parents in Texas but regularly visits her dad, stepmom and half-sister in Louisiana. (Madison has been open about her addiction issues and spent time in jail earlier this year for drug possession. Around that same time, Tony was arrested for drunk driving after allegedly causing a multi-car crash that resulted in injuries.)
Alyssa shared how the girls reacted to the baby news on Instagram.
“Both of our girls are so excited for the new baby, but our youngest is on a whole other level of thrilled…She finally gets to be a big sister!” Alyssa wrote. “Our oldest has been such a sweet part of this journey too. Even though she isn’t with us full-time, she’s just as excited in her own way.
“This time feels extra special because our youngest gets to experience having a sibling here with her every day…someone to grow up with, make memories with, and cause a little chaos with,” Alyssa’s post continued. “Our hearts (and home) are getting fuller, and we can’t wait to see all of our kiddos grow together on this journey called life!”
‘Challenge’ alums reacted to the couple’s announcement, including one who recently shared his own baby news.
“Congrats my man we are going to have kids a month apart let’s arrange a marriage,” wrote Kyle Christie, whose baby announcement went out on Christmas Eve.
“Hell ya brother! Way to deliver the gifts!” wrote Zach Nichols (who welcomed his fourth child with wife Jenna Compano in August).
“Oh wow! Best of luck on this new challenge!” wrote Cara Maria Sorbello.
Tony and Alyssa have not yet announced if they’re expecting a boy or a girl.
