It’s been about three months since Teen Mom 2 grandma Barbara Evans suffered a stroke and, this week, both of her daughters– Jenelle and Ashleigh– took to social media to discuss the medical situation, accuse each other of not being there for their mother in her time of need and provide updates on Barb’s current health.
Ashleigh then seemed to take aim at the claims Jenelle made earlier this week (during her online bicker battle with former ‘Teen Mom 2’ co-star Kail Lowry) regarding the time period after Barbara’s stroke. During her rant, Jenelle claimed dealing with Barbara’s stroke was “very scary” and “still is unpredictable.”
“I needed support if anything, not to be beat down,” Jenelle said. (In other posts on X, Jenelle stated that Ashleigh— as well as Kail— “attacked her” online for clout while she was trying to care for Barb post-stroke.)
As The Ashley previously told you, Jenelle did fly to North Carolina from Vegas after Barbara’s medical emergency. According to Ashleigh, though, Jenelle wasn’t much help and, instead, caused chaos for her family.
“She’s so full of herself,” Ashley wrote of her sister on X this week. “Nobody clou[t] chases her. The only ones that were really there for my mother was me and Jace, [my son] Gabriel, my mother’s close friends after her stroke. Then [Jenelle] tried to ruin my reputation with their s**ty friend make lies about me in the Internet during her stroke.”
Ashleigh carried the same sentiments to her TikTok video from this week.
“My sister was not really there for my mom during her stroke,” she said. “It was me, Gabriel and Jace.” It [was] chaotic when [Jenelle] came in here.”
Ashleigh then addressed the drama that seems to constantly surround Jenelle.
“I know that my sister posted things about me, saying that I’m using her, clout-chasing her, which is not true,” Ashleigh said. “I’m just going to be honest: the drama is never going to stop with my sister.”
“This is nothing new,” Ashleigh continued. “My sister is always going to attack other people, make lies… I don’t know why Jenelle always attacks me and brings up my name. I do know that when you’re not authentic and you’re a fake person, you can’t do your own thing and stay in your own lane. You always have to attack people and try to get a one-up on them. And that’s not how you should go about life.”
Ashleigh then hinted that Barbara has been dealing with some health struggles recently, allegedly brought on by the actions of someone in the family.
“I’ve been quiet because of my mom’s stroke. Over the past few weeks, there’s been some really stressful things going on for my mom,” Ashleigh claimed. “In our family and other siblings and other situations; I’m not going to disclose [what happened] but it’s been very stressful for her.”
Ashleigh then gave fans an update on Barbara’s health.
“My mom is doing great. She’s taking one day at a time,” she said. “What she had to deal with, the stress of the last couple of months, it’s been really hard on her. I’ve noticed that her symptoms have gotten a little bit worse, when she was really stressed out. She just needs lots of rest.”
Jenelle has yet to respond to Ashleigh’s latest claims.

Glad to hear Barb is on her way to recovery and that she has a lot of people around her giving her support.
Has for Janelle people she’s slating just needs to stay quiet and don’t rise to it.
Janelle is like a little child kicking and screaming for attention, if you feed the attention it gets worse.
Ignore it and the temper tantrum stops, so just ignore Janelle and when she realises she’s actually irrelevant maybe she’ll stop giving everyone headaches with her bs.
I hope Barbara and Jace are doing well. My mom suffered a TBI and had to have brain surgery before a later fall, and brain trauma of all types can just be special sort of hell to recover from, or watch your loved ones recover from.
Yes all of this. My Mom had a brain aneurysm rupture & had to undergo multiple surgeries. It was one of the hardest things ever to watch her go through all of that (especially since she had long lasting effects that meant she had to live in assisted living for the rest of her life).
Thanks for the update Ashleigh, Jenelle lies and contradicts herself all the time, we’re used to it. So glad Barbara is doing better, and Jace has a great future to look foward to. J sets a very poor example for the two children that still remain in her care.Kaiser has always shown signs of not being on a healthy diet and lack of exercise. And I’m sure he needs intense therapy after years of abuse from David and J. I pray Ensley doesn’t end up like her mother, which is probably inevitable.

I hope she’s doing well now. Recovery from a stroke is definitely up & down with good days & bad. But it’s definitely a case of take everything these people say with multiple containers of salt.

Ok I know everybody hates Jenelle but I remember Ashleigh talking about Jenelle always ,yes Jenelle always responded but I have read alot of articles in the Ashley from Ashleigh.this community does tend to bully all the teenmoms so I know y’all gas Ashleigh up but she’s definitely part of the problem

Ashleigh is one of those people who is always hinting…. “I don’t want cause any drama or say anything bad…but I’m just going to post online for the whole world to see, that something cryptic is going on between my sister and mom, and it’s bad and upsetting all of us so much. But I’m not gonna give any details….but just know—without and details—that it’s all on Jenelle and she sucks and I’m an angel.”
Mental health issues like Borderline Personality Disorder run in families. Jenelle is an absolute train wreck that I wouldn’t wish on my worst enemy, but Ashleigh seems like a bit of a jealous fame-whore who is desperate to gain sympathy and clout by being the “better daughter,” when she seems just as much of a train wreck! There was a reason Barb was also raising Ashleigh’s son, Gabe.
And then the fact that Ashleigh comments on here, as herself, without shame….. I just feel so much second hand embarrassment for Barb that these are her kids.
Ashleigh definitely has her own version of events at times, but it’s absolutely believable that Jenelle made things worse for everyone around her when coming to “help” Barbara. Jenelle can’t let anyone have a moment of peace, especially if they are getting more attention than her. She is selfish, dramatic, and just plain mean.

Hi Ashley, thanks for the update about Barbara, so glad she is doing well, hope jase is coping with everything
I’m not a fan of Ashley, but I think shes 100x better than Jenelle. I do find both girls to be attention seeking, but I trust Ashley’s version of events over Jenelle’s (or a lot of people’s versions over liar Jenelle).
I hope Barb is doing better and her family as well. Best wishes. Clearly there are some deficits from the stroke otherwise no one would be discussing it.

We already knew Jenelle flew there. Not because of the stroke but because she had a court date around that time and she was useless as always. But Jenelle wants to spin the narrative to say she went there to help her mother and Ashleigh didn’t let her
