Suki Krishnan Responds to ‘Sister Wives’ Fans Who Believe She’s “Too Soft” on Kody Brown During Tell-All Episodes

“Don’t make me grab my visor and storm off this stage, Suki!’

Suki Krishnan has been hosting the end-of-season Sister Wives Tell-All specials since 2022 and, in that time, has caught a lot of flak from the show’s fans for not asking the Brown family hard-hitting questions. In a new interview with the Sister Wives Professor podcast, Suki explained why she refrains from asking certain questions, and addressed some of the accusations she’s received over the years— including the fan theory that she “goes easy” when questioning Kody because she has a crush on him!

“We peel back the layers as much as we can, as much as they allow us to,” Suki said. “And sometimes it’s really frustrating for the viewers because sometimes they’re like, ‘Just nail down the answer! Just get the answer!’… but it’s a lot more difficult than meets the eye.”

Suki went on to agree that if she asked all the hard-hitting questions that the viewers want her to, “there would be no interview” because Kody & Co. would simply get up and leave.

“You kind of have to disarm them a little bit and create a space that they can talk and that they feel safe in. Listen, it’s very hard because this is a family that’s falling apart,” she said.

“This is starting to feel very UNSAFE! Can we at least get some more purple-colored items in here to comfort me!?”

Suki— who has gotten into several on-air spats with Kody over the years— addressed the comments she often sees from fans who feel she asks the failed polygamist “easy” questions.

“I think some of the comments are that I’m really easy on Kody, or that I had a crush on Kody or that I’m going to be the next sister wife!” Suki said with a chuckle. “In reality, that’s the furthest thing from the truth!”

Suki argued that her strategy for interviewing Kody has more to do with the way his brain works rather than her trying to compete with Robyn to be Kody’s “Number One Fan.”

“That corkscrewed hair crazy man is ALL mine! Hands off Suki or I’ll send my dolls after you!”

“I think Kody is a very complicated— he’s talked about being neurodivergent and that adds its own little complexity when you’re interviewing somebody as well,” Suki said. “So, I’m trying to keep his focus.”

Suki— who named Meri as the hardest of the Browns to interview— said that oftentimes things don’t go as planned during the Tell-Alls.

“You think that you’re going to go in and you’re going to be able to blast off some questions and get a reaction but sometimes you don’t even get the reaction that you want,” she said, adding that sometimes the Browns will team up against her and warn each other about topics they think Suki will ask them questions about.

“They’ll side-text each other right there and then, and the interview will be over,” she said, adding that the Browns are very wary of her doing “gotcha moments” for shock value.

“But you better not make people realize it on TV, Suki!”

“But I really do hope all of them, especially Kody, feels comfortable with me,” she said. “I don’t think I come in there to tear anything apart. I don’t want to tear anything apart. I’m just trying to find as much information and be curious about the family without having judgement.”

Suki also revealed that the Browns have the ability to ask producers to get a new interviewer if they want.

Tamron Hall confirmed this, stating that she was let go from hosting the Tell-Alls in 2017 after hosting them for five years. During an interview with Meri last year, Tamron stated that she believed she was fired because some of the Browns did not like her bold questions, something Meri confirmed by saying that she knew “there are people in the family who struggled with your wanting to hold them accountable.” (Meri also confirmed that Kody was one of the family members who wanted Tamron fired.)

Janelle’s like, “Ask one more question about Robyn’s spending Tamron, and they’re gonna throw you out, girl!”

“They also have a say in who comes to interview them. I don’t think most viewers know that,” Suki said. “So I take this very seriously that year after year they ask me to come back. I think people are like, you know, ‘she needs to be this and that,’ but the reality is, people’s lives are complex and interviewing is an art form and I take it very seriously…

“I just want to answer as many questions as I can, as they will allow me or permit me to inside their world,” she added. “Because there are some things that are just sacred, and some things they just want to keep to themselves.”

Last year, Suki stated in an interview with The Sarah Fraser Show that she’d ideally like to see Kody and all his wives (both ex and current) sit down together to do the Tell-All interviews like they used to in the early seasons of the show.

The “happy” family back when they used to do interviews sitting together on-stage…

“That’s something I proposed to them,” she stated. “I said, ‘You know, wouldn’t it be great if all of you were able to sit together … that way you can all really listen to each other,’ but I don’t think they’re ready for that just yet.”

When asked about the Brown family’s decision to no longer sit down as a group for interviews, Suki boiled it down to the fact that Kody & Co. “just don’t get along” and no longer wish to sit down with each other in that sort of setting.

Suki added during that interview that her goal is to eventually film an “actual reunion” with everyone sitting down together and “in a good space” with one another.

“Good luck on achieving that, Suki! That’s like asking me to stop using hair gel— never gonna happen!”

The ‘Sister Wives’ Season 20 Tell-All airs Sunday on TLC.

  1. “he’s talked about being neurodivergent”

Kody has never been diagnosed as neurodivergent. He is misogynistic, narcissistic and controlling. If it quacks like a duck, walks like a duck, acts like a duck then it’s a duck. If Kody talks like an asshole, walks like an asshole and acts like an asshole then he is an asshole not neurodivergent because he wants to be.

If you saw Kody on Special Forces then you saw how much he liked to belittle the women around him simply because they weren’t men. (not like he is a man either, he is a child) No woman cowered to him. No woman changed their demeanor to make Kody feel warm and fuzzy while he continued to talk down to them and acted like he was physically, emotionally and mentally stronger just because he has a little pee pee.

As a woman I absolutely refuse to do what Suki does. I would not baby him and try and gently coax information out of him because I don’t want to make the little baby mad and make him stomp his way off of the stage until he huffs and puffs and gets what he wants. I will never make myself less than to make any man more comfortable because their fragile egos can’t handle being called out on their shit from strong women.
