Mama June: Family Crisis returns with an all new season next month that is promising viewers plenty of chaos, conflict and “more dysfunction than ever before.”
“I’m back, b*tches!” Mama June Shannon declares in the trailer for the upcoming season before opening her robe and flashing husband Justin Stroud, future daughter-in-law Shyann McCant and unsuspecting viewers.
“Just when you thought you knew the Shannon family, big changes are coming,” Lauryn “Pumpkin” Shannon says in the clip. “Because this family is growing, enemies have formed, bonds are cracking, secrets are coming out, tensions are rising and a family fallout nobody saw coming.”
As the trailer goes on, viewers watch as Pumpkin and ex-husband/baby daddy, Josh Efird, get into a heated conversation about their respective post-divorce relationships, with Josh accusing Pumpkin of moving on “faster than anybody else.”
“You made a whole other family!” Pumpkin fires back, referring to the daughter Josh welcomed in May with Breanna Godwin, less than nine months after he and Pumpkin called it quits.
Pumpkin– who was married to Josh for six years, during which they welcomed four children together– then very excitedly introducers viewers to her new boyfriend, Darrin Kitchens, who happens to be Josh’s cousin. (As The Ashley previously told you, Pumpkin and Darrin publicly confirmed their relationship on social media in 2024, just days after numerous outlets reported that she and Josh were divorcing.)
“Seeing Pumpkin and Darrin together really makes my damn skin crawl,” Josh admits in the Season 8 trailer.
On a (potentially) happier note, viewers can also look forward to seeing Jessica Shannon and fiancée Shyann move forward with wedding plans in the upcoming season, with Shyann’s mom, Trina, happily stepping in to help the pair as they prepare for their big day. Jessica admits in the trailer that being around her future mother-in-law is the closest thing she’s experienced to “having a normal mom,” right as viewers get to hear June attempt to shift the focus onto herself.
“At the wedding, there’s gonna be TWO mothers of the bride,” June shouts, with Trina later noting that it would be “lovely” if June offered to flip the bill for their daughters’ nuptials.
“ … but I’m not gonna believe it until I see it,” Trina says, with Shyann pointing out that June could end up making this “the worst wedding ever.”
Later in the clip, Shyann asks her future mother-in-law if she even likes her, though fans will have to wait for the new season to hear June’s response.
“I don’t even wanna be near your mom, that is even if there’s gonna be a wedding,” Shyann later says to Jessica, suggesting that June’s response wasn’t the one she was hoping to receive.
The trailer also sees Jessica and Pumpkin attempting to work out their differences before Jessica’s wedding; however, when secrets from the past surface, the siblings find themselves involved in a screaming match where accusations are thrown and other family members– including younger sister Alana “Honey Boo Boo” Thompson– are left with a front-row seat to the sister squabble.
The new season will also feature Jessica and Shyann’s joint-bachelorette party, some marital drama between June and Justin and more.
