The family vacation is drawing to a close.
According to an exclusive trailer released by People this week, Jersey Shore Family Vacation will begin airing its final 18 episodes on MTV on May 7 and the entire original cast is back to mark the end of the 17-year-long era.
Audiences have been following the friends since the premiere of Jersey Shore in 2009 and continued to ride along through four spinoffs–- four seasons of Snooki and JWoww, one season of The Pauly D Project, one season of The Show with Vinny and now entering the ninth season of ‘Jersey Shore Family Vacation.’
In the span of 21 seasons (almost 300 episodes), these party people have welcomed 12 babies, celebrated five weddings, experienced two divorces, and countless iconic moments. Season 9 promises to be no different, with big milestones in store for each of the beloved shoremates.
According to People, fans will follow the cast as they navigate parenthood, career growth and sobriety. Although not specified in the Season 9 trailer, the show will follow Angelina Pivarnick through “extreme highs, devastating lows and nonstop twists that only Angelina can deliver.”
Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi, who recently revealed she was diagnosed with cervical cancer, and Deena Cortese will showcase the highs and lows of juggling mom life with all the responsibilities of work and friendships while also finding moments to be the wild “Meatballs” audiences were introduced to nearly 20 years ago.
As she approaches her 40th birthday, Jenni “JWoww” Farley vows to “put the ‘wow’ back in JWoww” while directing her next film, while DJ Pauly D and Vinny Guadagnino also grow their careers.
The upcoming season will also follow the sobriety journeys of Mike “The Situation” Sorrentino and Ronnie Ortiz-Magro, with Mike celebrating his tenth year sober and Ronnie returning to the show for the first season since departing in 2021 to focus on his mental health.
Perhaps no one will have a more eventual season than Sammi “Sweetheart” Giancola, who is said to navigate “pregnancy, childbirth, and a wedding” this season– all in the span of eight months.
Although this season is being described as a “last hurrah for a cultural icon,” the cast is assuring fans that they aren’t going anywhere. In a new video posted to social media, each cast member takes a moment to remind fans that their stories aren’t over yet.
“Final? Who said anything about final?” Pauly questioned. “We’re just getting started!”
The crew asserted that they have “a lot more messiness” for viewers to look forward to and that even though the network is changing, they are still the same people that fans fell in love with.
“I promise you, the story will continue,” Mike told fans. “The comeback is always greater than the setback.”
Snooki acknowledged the longtime ‘Jersey Shore’ viewers, reminding fans that they are “incredible” and that the show “wouldn’t be anywhere without [them],” The video ended with a message saying, “Stay tuned to see what’s next. This fam lives forever.”
The cast reiterated their eventual return in the caption of the video, noting that, “Legends don’t retire– they reroute. The network changed. The legacy didn’t. Jersey Shore is forever. Just wait until you see what’s next.”
