Andrew Lewis is asking Teen Mom fans for help in his fight against Jenelle Evans for custody of their son Jace.
On Friday, Andrew created a GoFundMe to help raise funds for him and Jace’s grandma, Barbara Evans, to pay for Jace’s growing medical bills as well as legal fees incurred from their custody court case against the fired Teen Mom star.
As The Ashley previously reported, Jace has been in a mental health facility since February. Because Jenelle currently has full custody of the 16-year-old, she has chosen to keep him in the facility, despite Andrew and Barbara wanting to bring him back to Barb’s house in North Carolina. Andrew and Barbara have teamed up, with Barb filing last month to regain custody of Jace. The trio will begin their fight in court next month.
In the bio for the fundraiser, Andrew explained that he and Barbara are desperate to get Jace out of the facility and away from Jenelle’s control.
“We are reaching out today to ask for help in our battle to get Jace Evans home,” the fundraising page states. “We— Jace’s father and grandmother— are trying everything we can to bring him home to his grandma’s house to live but are currently facing massive medical and legal expenses to do so.”
(According to Jenelle’s sister Ashleigh, Jenelle dropped Jace from her medical insurance when he went to live with Barb in North Carolina last summer, and Andrew now pays for Jace’s medical insurance, which likely means he is responsible for paying any co-pays or fees that are a result of Jace’s medical care.)
“As some are aware, Jace was hospitalized and then taken to a mental health facility in February and remains there as of today,” the fundraising page states. “Although his grandma and I have tried to have him released into our care, Jace’s mother has refused to let that happen and has insisted he remain in the facility, despite her living over 2,000 miles away and not being there to care for him.”
Andrew then confirmed Barbara’s statements from earlier this week that Jenelle has refused to allow her to visit or speak to Jace. (As The Ashley told you, Andrew and everyone else has also been cut off, and Jenelle is currently the only person allowed to communicate with Jace in the facility.)
“Jace’s grandmother and I have been cut off from having any communication with Jace due to his mother’s orders, and we are desperate to get him back to a loving environment,” Andrew wrote. “We are currently in need of funds to help pay the enormous medical bills that have accrued due to Jace being in the facility, despite us not wanting him there to begin with.
“We also need help paying the legal fees it will take to battle Jace’s mother for custody.”
Andrew stated that many ‘Teen Mom’ fans have contacted him, wanting to help him and Barbara.
“During the last month, people who are concerned and care for Jace have reached out to ask how they can help us in our fight for Jace, leading us to create this fundraiser,” he wrote. “Anything left over will be for his future medical needs. We appreciate everyone’s kind words and support, and are extremely grateful for any donations.”

UPDATE! The Ashley’s sources have confirmed that this fundraiser was, indeed, started by Andrew. (Some people have been confused because the fundraiser was started by “Charles Lewis.” Charles is actually Andrew’s first name; Andrew is his middle name.)

Jenelle began ranting about the fundraiser on X, first writing, “Don’t let the GoFundMe fool you. He has a job everyone.”
She then began posting more about it.
“My family has to sell false stories and make money some how.”
She then accused Andrew of being drunk.
“BTW he can’t even text me a proper sentence and spell correctly cuz he’s so drunk atm.”

Can we just give an absolute monster shout out to the people writing in the most hilarious donation names along with their donations? Seriously- some of you made my day with those 🤣🤣🤣! “whosbuttholedid I see” takes the cake. No notes.
I like how Jenelle is “he has a job, people.” Uh, yeah. Most people do.
I legitimately want to know how she can legally keep him in the facility when she’s not the one who holds the insurance or is even paying for it? If they really have no control and she’s forcing him to stay there on their dime, Andrew and/or Barb should have the option to sue Jenelle once Jace is finally released for the costs that accrued while he was in there. She truly is a piece of shit *spits* down to her core.
She truly could not be more evil of a mother if she tried. She is a selfish narcissist who will NEVER change. The fact that she’s even allowed custody at this point is ridiculous. This poor child has been in the middle of turmoil with her since the day he was born! He doesn’t know what it’s like to live without fighting, yelling, screaming, assault & hate. So it’s NO SURPRISE he has IMMENSE trauma & mental health problems! Where the hell is MTV?! They knew how bad of a mother Jenelle was and they PROFITED off the ratings that her trauma & child abuse brought! They should be SOLEY responsible for paying for his therapy & medical bills. I’d love to see a lawyer represent Barb pro-bono and SUE the shit out of MTV!
How come people are okay with this and are supportive of it yet when Ali Simms started a fundraiser for a service dog, everyone was upset, angry and unsupportive? I’m not saying I don’t support Andrew and Barb either, I just don’t understand how people can support one cause but not the other.
Girl what does that have to do with anything? Jenelle has him locked in a facility out of retaliation. He was doing really well until he found out she was back with his abuser again and she’s punishing him for it. Let’s focus! I donated, if you can do that to help save this child who didn’t deserve any of this!
Because ones a dog her parents can afford and ones for legal expenses to save him from his bio mother. Not even close to the same thing, that’s obvious.
It seems obvious? Ali has parents who, she admits, could get her a dog. Her parents could easily afford a dog. And, she is safe. Even if she doesn’t get a service dog, her life is not in jeopardy.
Jace is in serious trouble. He needs very serious help and his parents have failed to show up for him, pretty much ever. If Barb cannot get custody back, what happens to him? Where does he go?
Andrew wasn’t on the show (much) and didn’t earn hundreds of thousands of dollars from it.
Why isn’t Jenelle legally required to have health insurance for Jace if she has full custody?
Andrew covers his insurance per the article. Jenelle dropped him from hers before leaving to Vegas last year.
Where’s all the content creators who get rich talking about Jace and his trauma? Elle Bee? Others like her? Where is your donation to help save Jace? Who you “care so much about.”
With so many people in this world who “care so much about Jace” Barb should have enough to fight Jenelle without issue.

Why didn’t they just petitin the court to appoint a Guardian ad litem for Jace. At 16 he is old enough in the courts to state who he wants to live with?
Jenelle just keeps getting worse. She has always seen Jace as a trophy to be won and now that she’s losing her grip on him again she would rather have him locked up in a hospital until he’s 18, on someone else’s dime no less, than let Barb have him back again. It’s unbelievable she could be this awful with no consequences. I truly hope Barb can regain full custody, she is his only hope at this point.
If this was Barb with the GoFundMe, I’d be more supportive, but I wouldn’t really encourage people to give money to Andrew. He is not blameless in this and has never actually shown up for Jace. He all but abandoned him, has never parented him, and only paid child support because he had no choice. Can we trust that Andrew is actually going to put that money towards legal expenses? Barb has shown that she can be trusted not to blow all the money on herself. Andrew doesn’t have that credibility.
I truly hope that Andrew helps Barb and actually shows up for Jace this time. But, he needs to show that he’s actually going to do the right thing.
Jenelle is horrible. Why ruin a child’s life Jennelle? Why like this could have turned out so differently.
Agreed. The amount he’s asking for wouldn’t pay for like 30 minutes of inpatient care. So that makes me suspect.
I spend too much time thinking about these people. Let’s say Barbara gets Jace back. She can’t control Jace. There’s this vicious cycle of Barbara getting Jace, then he either runs away, trashes her home, Barbara has to call the police. The last time Barb called the police, she claimed Jace had a gun and was threatening to kill himself.
Lather, rinse, repeat. Jenelle is not an option. Andrew only had Jace for about a week at one point. All of these alleged adults hate each other so much and Jace is the one who pays. It’s not sustainable. Jace needs a therapeutic community and a real plan for the future.
The stuff about Jace holding a gun to his head was a lie that the evil witch known as Jenelle sold to TMZ.

Yeah soooooooo……..😒 the medical and legal bills are two different issues. I don’t think anyone will ever co-sign paying Jace’s medical bills while Jenelle is making plenty of money sitting home, selling stories and ass-picks, while allowing Lurch to continue not having a job and living off her. I could see helping out with the legal bills, but I would never want a dime going to Andrew!! He’s had plenty of chances over the years and has never stepped up. If Babs really is a part of this GoFundMe account, she needs to sever all ties with Andrew.
Who would’ve thought Andrew and Babs would be teaming up. Nothing brings people together like a horrible, cruel common enemy.
