Jenelle Evans‘ legal woes continue to pile up, and The Ashley has learned that a motion was filed in court last week asking a judge to find the fired Teen Mom star in contempt of an existing custody order for her son Jace!
The Ashley can exclusively reveal that on April 15, a “Motion to Show Cause” was filed in the pending custody court case Jenelle’s mom Barbara Evans and Jace’s father Andrew Lewis have against Jenelle. (As The Ashley told you last month, Barb and Andrew have teamed up and are fighting Jenelle for custody of Jace.)
This type of motion is filed when a party (in this case Andrew and/or Barbara) believes that the other party (Jenelle) has violated an order of the court pertaining to the case.
The motion asks a judge to order Jenelle to appear in court and explain why she should not be held in contempt of the custody court order. According to court records obtained by The Ashley, Barbara and/or Andrew have also filed an exhibit to show proof that Jenelle has allegedly violated the court order. A hearing has been set for the new motion, and it appears it’s been scheduled for the same day that the tumultuous trio is already due to meet up in court: May 26.
The court order in question here is almost certainly the 2023 custody order that Barbara and Jenelle signed when Barbara gave back custody of Jace to Jenelle. When they signed that consent order, Barbara and Jenelle both agreed that Jenelle would have primary custody of Jace and Barbara would have secondary custody of him. The order also legally gave Barb visitation with Jace at least one weekend a month, as well as regular phone contact with him. It also stipulated that both Barbara and Jenelle would have access to Jace’s medical records.
As The Ashley previously told you, Jenelle had kept Jace in a mental health facility for about a month in February, despite Andrew and Barbara wanting Jace to be released into their care. Late last month, Jenelle pulled Jace out of the facility and took him to an unknown location. According to Andrew, he has not been permitted to see or talk to Jace since.
Barbara also claimed last month that Jenelle has cut off contact between her and Jace, and that she is unaware of Jace’s current location.
The new Order to Show Cause that Barbara and/or Andrew filed against Jenelle will require her to explain to the judge how her actions have not violated the custody court order that she and Barbara agreed to in 2023.
As of press time, it does not appear that Jenelle’s lawyer has responded in court to the filing, and it’s unknown if Jenelle has been served with the motion.
Last month, Jenelle’s estranged sister Ashleigh accused Jenelle on X of being in contempt of the court order and vowed that the fired ‘Teen Mom’ star would be “held accountable” for her actions.
“ … She’s in big time contempt [of] court,” Ashleigh wrote. “Jace will come home. He’s a resident of [North Carolina]. My sister’s dangerous… she has serious mental health issues.”
Ashleigh went on to confirm that Barbara still has partial custody of Jace, and alleged that Jenelle has “been in contempt for about a couple of years now.”
Days later, Ashleigh posted a gif featuring her sister’s many mugshots from over the years, while hinting that Jenelle may soon be adding another mugshot to her penal portfolio.
“Waiting,” Ashleigh wrote alongside the gif. “Just waiting for the next shot..”
Jenelle spoke about Jace’s current location and situation during an interview on the La Femme Talk podcast earlier this month.
“I’ve been very quiet online but behind the scenes I’ve been actually getting help for my son and he’s in a safe place [with] a holistical approach and he’s very happy right now.,” Jenelle said. “And he’s very focused on himself and I think that’s the most important thing… A lot of people think that because I’m being so quiet that I might now be doing anything and not taking action but just know that if I’m quiet, I’m up to somethin’!”
UPDATE! Within 10 minutes of The Ashley’s story being posted, Jenelle posted a response, writing on Facebook that “when I take control, I knew what was best for my son. So proud of him.”
When someone in the comment section challenged her, Jenelle wrote, “What’s my kid up to? Oh that’s right, you’re a stranger and have no idea.”
Jenelle also responded that if Barb wanted to know where Jace was, “all she has to do was ask” Jenelle where he was.
Someone else pointed out that Jenelle brought her ex, David Eason, back into her life, despite David having pending felony charges for allegedly physically abusing Jace.
“You knew what was best for him by bringing back his abuser into his life,” the person wrote.
“IDK why you keep bringing him up when he hasn’t been around my son in years.”

David hasn’t been around Jace in years, because Juhnelle has *yet again!* chosen a man over her child’s wellbeing. It’s obvious she has shipped Jace off somewhere because if he’s at her house while she’s trying to bone the swasshole, she’s gonna get hauled to court immediately.
I don’t typically wish ill of people, but she absolutely has confirmed that she deserves it.
Contact with family is in jaces best interest, but not Janelle’s! Poor Jace, she’s such a narcissist who only cares about herself

We all hope- even on a statistical basis- that Swamp Queen will be held accountable JUST ONCE in her life. I think we’re all so jaded at the NC system for truly failing all of her kids.
Let’s all hope for Jace that this is the time she sees justice and her loser (ex?) husband is next. Jace needs to be as far away from her as possible for the rest of his life.
She is truly the Teflon of consequences for all of the damage she caused her children!
