Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi Reveals How Her Children & ‘Jersey Shore’ Co-Stars Reacted to Her Cervical Cancer Diagnosis & Treatment Plan

During an interview on Good Morning America this week, Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi opened up about her recent cervical cancer diagnosis, including how her three children and her Jersey Shore Family Vacation castmates reacted to the news.

As The Ashley previously reported, the 38-year-old MTV star revealed to fans in a candid social media video back in February that she had been diagnosed with Stage 1 cervical cancer. While Nicole appeared relatively calm in her initial video– despite recording it just moments after receiving her diagnosis– she admitted this week that she “was terrified” at the time.

Nicole, arriving to her appointment in February…

“I was hysterically crying in my car, like, what am I gonna do?” Nicole recalled. “I have three kids, I gotta do my will, I haven’t done my will yet, I’m like, thinking about all these things.”

As fans of ‘Jersey Shore’ know, Nicole and husband Jionni LaValle share three children– 13-year-old son Lorenzo, 11-year-old daughter Giovanna and 6-year-old son Angelo. Nicole revealed this week that while her kids understand what she’s currently facing, she said they’ve also asked her if she’s “dying,” to which she has explained to them, “I’m not dying, I’m just sick and I need to figure it out and then mommy will be fine.”

Nicole went on to reveal that her ‘Jersey Shore’ castmates, who she lovingly referred to as her “brothers and sisters,” have also been concerned in recent months and were “freaking out” after learning about her diagnosis.

Despite the results of Nicole’s PET scan revealing that her cancer has not spread, her doctor has still recommended that she undergo a hysterectomy to avoid the possibility of the cancer returning.

While she maintains that she could have likely avoided the cancer diagnosis altogether had she gone to her doctor-recommended follow-up visits, Nicole admits that she “kept putting it off”– something she previously spoke about in February– and now regrets doing so.

She insisted this week that she will not be putting off any medical appointments in the future; however, she also revealed that she has yet to schedule her hysterectomy, partly due to the fact that she has been “traveling” recently.

“I’m not gonna lie, I’m scared,” she added, before also admitting that she hates the idea of undergoing a hysterectomy at her age. “When [my doctor] first said, ‘We have to do this or it’s going to escalate to Stage 2,’– I know I’m done [having] kids, but knowing that you can’t [have any more kids] made me feel like I’m not a mom…I don’t know, a lot of emotions went into my head.”

As Nicole and her roommates prepare for what will be the final season of ‘Jersey Shore Family Vacation,’ Nicole revealed the message she would share with Season 1 Snooki given her recent diagnosis.

“Keep shining, girl,” she said. “Live your life, but also … keep going to your doctor’s appointments.”

The final season of ‘Jersey Shore Family Vacation’ premieres Thursday, May 7 on MTV.

  1. Maybe if she wasn’t promiscuous…and before anyone downvotes me, we have seen at least some of her moments in jersey shore. She for sure got an std

    1. HPV causes cervical cancer, yes. But, almost everyone has encountered it at on point. Most of the time there are no symptoms because the body clears it. So, maybe you should actually educate yourself before putting other women down. You sound like my grandma. “If she wasn’t promiscuous.” It’s none of your business how many people she slept with. If you were disgusted, why did you watch??

      1. Me watching jersey shore and teen mom made me realise what a sad life it is. Not everyone encounters it. At all. Her life was documented and you can clearly see. Idc if I sound like a grandma, it made me not turn out like that watching how gross other people are

        1. I’m not sure if you made this comment to make yourself feel better by putting someone else down, or wanted a medal for being better than everyone else … Either way here you go 🎖️

    2. Ricky is completely correct. You really need to do research before opening your mouth. And unless you are still
a virgin or have been with the same person your entire life, I would be willing to bet a large amount that you have had it or were exposed to it. And honestly- who cares what she does sexually? Does it affect you? No! What’s gross is how judgmental you are!

  2. God Bless her for sharing, and advocating. Cancer and women’s health are no joke. Here is to a speedy recovery for her and all facing this horrendous disease, that we NEED to find a CURE for!!
