Days after Casey Johnson was awarded emergency custody of his 14-year-old son Hunter, the stepdad of the Unexpected star is speaking out and claiming that Hunter is in “danger” at Casey and wife Brettney Johnson’s home, while insisting that both the public and the judge overseeing the custody case are unaware of what’s actually going on.
As The Ashley told you last week, a judge awarded Casey emergency temporary custody of Hunter, and suspended the parenting time of Hunter’s mom, Stacie Riddle. The judge also banned Falen and Kris Vaughn— the parents of Hunter’s 16-year-old baby mama Bella— from having any contact or communication with Hunter for the time being, unless Casey agrees to a meet-up, which he would also supervise.

Friday’s ruling came one day after Casey– who has been actively trying to get custody of Hunter away from Stacie for more than a year– filed a Petition for Emergency Ex Parte Custody, as well as a request for an emergency hearing in the case, following Falen’s recent arrest.
In a (VERY lengthy) response to a comment on the Unexpected TLC Facebook page, Stacie’s husband/Hunter’s stepdad, Clay, insisted that the judge overseeing the custody case “probably didn’t even read what’s going on,” and claims that “Hunter feels like he’s in danger” at his dad’s home.
Clay went on to tell what he says is “the truth” about Hunter’s upbringing, in which he painted Hunter’s mom Stacie as a hardworking parent who never received any support from Hunter’s father.

“ … [Stacie] has always put her kids first unlike the sperm donor,” Clay wrote, referring to Casey. “When Hunter was a toddler, sperm donor couldn’t keep a job. Stacie worked her butt off to provide for her son … .”
The Ashley has looked into the court documents on this going back all the way to 2013. It does appear that Casey frequently changed jobs every year or so while Hunter was growing up. He also had his child support garnished from his wages and there were instances that he was in arears. It also appears that, as far back as 2014, Casey was stating that he wasn’t getting appropriate visitation with Hunter, with Casey even filing in court about it in 2014. However, later that year, Casey dropped the filing, telling the court that he and Stacie were “cooperating” regarding his visitation with Hunter and did not see the new for a formal visitation schedule to be set.
Hunter’s stepdad Clay also insisted that, despite previous claims made by Casey in his court filings, Stacie never went to rehab and that she “got clean on her own” from drugs and “started going to church.”
This, however, seems to direct conflict with what Stacie herself told the court earlier this month in her answer to Casey’s custody filing.
“[Stacie] was going through drug rehabilitation from 2013 until 2017 and was able to see the minor child when the minor child visited [Casey’s] parents, the paternal grandparents,” Stacie’s court filing states.
Clay noted that while Stacie never married Casey, she did go on to marry someone else (before him) and after the two split up, Stacie went through “a depression phase” and started to associate with the “wrong people.” Clay blamed his wife’s past drug use on “peer pressure,” though he maintained that Stacie never went to rehab and “was strong enough to get clean on her own.”
As for why Hunter allegedly stopped going to his dad and stepmom’s house, Clay claimed that Hunter didn’t want to be around his stepmom Brettney, due to the way she allegedly treated him. According to Clay, Hunter has claimed that his stepmom would “lock him in his room” and go through his things when he was not there– actions which Clay noted were “[kind of] weird.”

Clay’s comment also addressed Falen’s recent arrest and the details of the incident that he claims were wrongly reported. (As The Ashley previously reported, Stacie got into a fight with Casey and Brettney after trying to take Hunter during Casey’s parenting time. Things escalated after Brettney allegedly refused to allow a cellphone linked to and paid for by Falen into their home. During the argument, Falen and Kris showed up to Casey and Brettney’s home and Falen ended up being arrested for disorderly conduct and interfering with police.)

Clay insisted in his comment that Stacie never approved of a family friend taking Hunter to Casey’s home after his baseball game and because Stacie “is very protective” of her kids, she chose to drive Hunter to Casey’s herself– something Clay said “had never been an issue” before. After Hunter was dropped off at his dad’s home, the teen allegedly called his mom and while they were talking, Brettney “barged in his room” and told Hunter to “get off the MFing phone,” which Stacie allegedly heard through the phone.
“ … and [Brettney] put her hands on him and he yelled at his mom [to] call the police,” Clay alleged. “ … [Brettney] had no business barging in his room what if he had been undressing or something?”

Despite previous reports, Clay argued that Hunter did not pin his stepmom down amid their argument, and insisted that Brettney lied about the events in an attempt to portray herself as the victim, even though Hunter was the one “being attacked.”
“[Brettney] didn’t run from [Hunter] and lock herself in the car [as people claimed] … she grabbed his phone and locked herself in the car trying to get screenshots,” Clay wrote. “ … so those of you who are glad he’s at his [dad’s] house Hunter is probably scared.. he has proof of things on his phone that’s why they didn’t want him to have it… it has nothing to do with who owns the phone at all … .
“Bottom line a kid made a mistake and got a girl pregnant happens every day unfortunately … ,” he continued.

Clay concluded his comment by telling people it’s “really sad” that Hunter has been put in a place that “could be dangerous and definitely not where he wants to be” all because “people didn’t want to read and listen to what’s really going on.”
“I pray people come to their senses!” he added.

Is this the meth head stepdad? Yeah, I’ll trust him…
He can’t call anyone who let his druggie ex live at his house a “sperm donor”.
The falen pic is hilarious
It’s him thinking it’s wrong for parents to go through a 14 year olds cell phone that tells me everything I need to know.
I’m sure Hunter doesn’t want to be where there are rules, he can’t smoke weed, or shower with his girlfriend, and has to go to school and do homework. He’s 14 and it’s a parents job to actually parent not be their friend. The kid became a dad at 14! Obviously, things needed to change.
He technically became a dad at 12 cause that’s when Bella got pregnant 😬
Yes I can see where a man allergic to commas might be concerned about another persons comprehension skills.
I know the internet is in love with the kids dad but all of these people are cut from the same cloth, this situation didn’t just happen it’s been happening and NO ONE is coming off as a responsible adult and I am not talking about the teen parents.
Definitely not in love with the kid’s dad, lmao. People can just see one environment that is more suited for a teen who has now made choices which force him to make adult decisions which his brain isn’t even properly developed to make , an environment with rules. Then they see the other environment where he can do as he pleases with quite literally no rules at all, amid a bunch of grow ass sick adults who seem to be hell bent on grooming him(and Bella, and quite likely Wes when he gets older.
Is Casey a saint? Fuck no. But he’s a hell of a lot better than his ex, her current husband and Bella’s entire family. There is also literal proof of everything Casey has said and done, actual proof and not hearsay. The only proof we he of what Hunter’s mom has done is all bad, add in felon and her family and you have the addition of pedophiles so…. there’s that.
Ffs, this isn’t rocket appliances here (if you don’t get the reference, we can’t be friends, lol)
I’m not sure why this man thinks getting clean without going to rehab is the hill to die on here… as if that has *anything* to do with her parenting, not to mention she’s already contradicted that statement in court multiple times. But okay sir, go off.
Stacie, the one who lets Hunter stay at the Vaughns for days completely unsupervised even after getting Bella pregnant, is too protective to let Hunter get a ride home from a family friend?? That’s the story? That’s what he’s trying to convince us of? They must think everyone is completely stupid. If she was protective, Hunter would have never been in this situation. The way they act like it’s completely normal for a 12 year old child to get his older girlfriend pregnant is just wild.
And I don’t doubt things are really tense between Hunter and his dad/stepmom. It’s obvious that there has been parental alienation and he’s a teenager who has gotten used to having absolutely no guidance or boundaries. He is probably pushing back hard.
So Stacie found water at her level. Good to know.
That picture of Falen saying “Yeah, what if” may be the funniest thing I’ve seen on this website 😂
