‘Bringing Up Bates’ Star Travis Clark Claims He’s “Undeserving” After His Wife Katie Bates Confirms She Took Him Back After His Affair

Travis, praying that Katie never realizes just how “undeserving” of her forgiveness he really is… (Probably.)

It appears that Katie Bates’ husband, Travis Clark, is still reflecting on the affair he publicly confessed to in January, despite his former Bringing Up Bates star wife confirming earlier this month on social media that she and Travis are still together.

As The Ashley previously told you, Travis revealed earlier this year that he had cheated on Katie– his wife of four years and the mother of his two children– just hours after Katie shared with fans on social media that she had suffered a miscarriage.

While the status of the couple’s marriage remained unknown in the weeks after Travis publicly admitted to having an affair, the pair went on to participate in a therapy retreat in March, and at the beginning of April, Katie seemed to confirm that she and her husband had reunited.

Katie’s post from early April…

In a recent post on social media, Travis seemed to confirm the same, while also hinting at his past infidelity and how he is “underserving” of his wife’s forgiveness.

“No one more undeserving… and that’s what makes me this grateful 🙏🏼🤎,” Travis captioned a carousel of photos posted to his Instagram page this week, with the first photo being a snapshot of himself and Katie.

While Travis didn’t provide any additional context to his caption, his post featured a song by a singer named Chandler Moore titled, God I’m Just Grateful, which includes the lyrics, “I’m giving all that I am, ‘cause you gave me chance after chance.”

Travis hinting at the second chance he’s been given comes more than four months after he came clean about his infidelity (which had occurred around December), telling fans on social media at the time that there was “no excuse” for what he did.

“This was my failure and my responsibility alone,” he wrote. “ … I know that words don’t begin to express the damage I caused or the depth of the hurt I’ve brought into [Katie’s] life, but I am truly sorry. I’m sorry for the pain, humiliation, and betrayal I caused my wife through my choices. I understand that an apology doesn’t repair what I broke, and forgiveness is not something I deserve or can ask for.”

Shortly after Travis and Katie returned from the therapy retreat in March, Travis told fans on social media that the months since he had committed adultery had been “humbling” for him, admitting that he made decisions that he deeply regretted.

“ … I’m disappointed, ashamed, and honestly disgusted with myself,” he wrote, before claiming that he had done a lot of work on himself in an attempt to save his marriage to Katie.

“A lot of hard work, therapy, time with God… I know I’m not owed anything, but I’m desperately fighting for my wife and my family every single day,” Travis continued. “Thank you to everyone who has prayed for our family.”

As fans may remember, Travis and Katie tied the knot in December 2021. The pair met after Travis sent Katie a DM on Instagram and their courtship was later featured on ‘Bringing Up Bates.’ The couple– who is part of the Institute of Basic Life Principles (IBLP) religious cult– share two children, three-year-old daughter Hailey and one-year-old son Harvey.

In the comment section of Travis’ post, fans mostly expressed happiness that the couple has seemingly worked through Travis’ infidelity. Others were quick to point out how lucky Travis was that Katie forgave him.

“Your wife is an actual superhero for this,” one person wrote.

“Please be good to her you have such a sweet little family don’t ever take that for granted because I really am happy for y’all,” someone else commented. “We are not perfect we all make mistakes just don’t make the same one twice because the next time you may not be so lucky to get a second chance.”

“God will forget our sins but I promise Katie will never forget, and she shouldn’t,” another person wrote. “Trust takes an extremely long time to get earn back. Travis should forever gravel at her feet.”

“I’m not gonna argue with that one.”

  1. It’s really sad that her self esteem is that low. Cheaters don’t respect their partners. It’s not a “mistake”- there are tons of actions that happen and decisions being made that occur before the s*x happens. Now he knows he can get away with it and yes, it will happen again. It’s better to be single forever than deal with that, girl.

  2. Yeah this is 100% love bombing. If he can get her to forgive him this time, she’ll forgive everytime.

Also, that post with him sitting on the ground looking at pictures in the grass is ridiculous. No one does that with loose pictures they care about. They’ll get all dirty and/or wet.

  3. Repentance can also be love bombing and gaslighting. Especially if you are shitty enough to cheat on your wife when she suffered a miscarriage.
