Just weeks after their big wedding extravaganza aired on “Mama June: Family Crisis,” stars Jessica Shannon and Shyann McCant have announced that they’re ending their marriage.
On Tuesday, Jessica took to Facebook to reveal that she and Shyann— who have been together about four years and engaged since 2024— have decided to split.
“As most of y’all can tell, me and Shyann are no longer together,” Jessica wrote. “We mutually decided that it was the best decision for both of us.
“Yes, we are still friends, and yes, we are both cordial with each other, but we are no longer in a relationship,” she continued. “We kindly ask that everyone be respectful during this time. Please don’t send hate or negativity to either of us. This is already a difficult situation, and mean comments or unnecessary drama won’t make it any easier.”
As of press time, Shyann has not released any public statements about her and Jessica’s split. She did, however, change her relationship status to “single” on Facebook.
It is currently unknown what caused the split, as both had posted photos of each other to social media within the last few days.
The Ashley can confirm, though, that Jessica and Shyann were legally married. A search for their marriage license revealed that the couple married in Georgia on February 21, 2025 in Gray, Georgia. According to June, the beach wedding shown during this season of ‘Mama June’ was filmed in October 2025.
Naturally, Mama June— who had battled with Shyann and Shyann’s mother Trina during the most-recent season of the show— had to pipe in to offer her thoughts in the post’s comment section.
“Look guys this is very real they didn’t get married for ratings they got married February last year and had a wedding in October,” she wrote. “Y’all have to realize sometimes things don’t work out and people decided to go [their] separate ways. This is fake it’s very real but Jessica will still be there for Harper. They just wanted y’all to know first before y’all heard it from other sources and all.”
June disputed fans’ claims that Jessica and Shyann faked their marriage, or were faking a breakup for money.
“Yes y’all they was married just sometimes it doesn’t work out,” she insisted.
As fans know, Harper is Shyann’s niece whom she is raising. Jessica and Shyann have no children together; however, the couple was determined to have a kid together, with Shyann even sleeping with Jessica’s former brother-in-law, Josh Efird, last year in what they claim was an attempt to get Shyann pregnant. (This hump-sesh— which also included Jessica— caused a huge fight between the girls and Jessica’s sister Lauryn “Pumpkin” Shannon, who was rightfully angry that her sister and Shyann slept with her ex-husband.)
Anyway, Shyann’s mother Trina also posted about the split.
“My heart is broken,” she wrote in the comment section of Jessica’s post. “I love you both so much.”
“When they’re little, they’re trouble on your hands,” Trina later wrote on Facebook on Tuesday. “When they’re grown, they’re trouble on your heart. No matter how old they get, you’ll never stop being their parent. #heartbrokenquotes #lovethemsomuch.”
As of press time, The Ashley has not located an official divorce filing.

Literally because nothing should change besides being official. People usually live with each other most of the relationship before marrying nowadays too. Odd
That’s because some people get married to “save” their relationship and that doesn’t work so they end up splitting anyways
