The mothers of ‘Teen Mom’ stars Farrah Abraham and Catelynn Lowell recently sat down to chat about the show and reflect on how well the kids from ‘Teen Mom’ have turned out.
Farrah’s mom Debra Danielsen and Catelynn’s mom April Brockmiller recently appeared together on the new podcast April is doing with her son Nick Radtke. The conversation eventually turned to the original ‘Teen Mom’ kids— most of whom are now17 years old. (Bentley— who is the son of Maci Bookout— will turn 18 years old in October. One month later, Amber Portwood‘s daughter Leah will turn 18. Farrah’s daughter Sophia will turn 18 in February 2027. Meanwhile, Cate’s biological daughter Carly– who was placed for adoption at birth— will be 18 next May.)

“I looked at Bentley and saw how tall he was on the pictures that were being posted,” Debra said.
“And Leah– Leah’s all grown up. They’re all grown up now,” April added.
To date, all of the kids from the show have managed to avoid their own teen pregnancy.
Most of the kids are involved in school sports and activities within their communities.
“You know what? When I watch them, I think how levelheaded and smart these kids are, compared to when we were all on [“16 and Pregnant”] and going through our situations,” Deb said.
Debra— who currently has no relationship with her granddaughter Sophia, due to her estrangement with Farrah— went on to state that she believes growing up on the show actually helped the kids, rather than hurt them.
“I think they learned a lot from being on the show,” Deb said. “And I’m proud of them.”
“Yeah, I’m proud of all of them too,” April added. “They’re all doing really well. ”
Because of how well the kids turned out, Debra went on to state that she believes ‘Teen Mom’ was a success.
“That’s the good thing that came out of the whole thing, I think. If we had to say, ‘Was [the show] a success?’ I would say it was,” she said.
During the same episode, Debra spoke about her estrangement with Sophia, whom she has not seen or spoken to in five years. Calling the estrangement her “biggest heartbreak,” Deb went on to talk about how painful it is when fans of the show approach her and ask about Sophia.

“Some days I’m standing at work [as a TSA agent at an airport] and people will say, ‘How’s Sophia doing?’ And some days they have their little grandkids with them. I have to run away because I start crying,” she said.
Debra said she hopes that Farrah will eventually reach out and they can mend their relationship.
“My prayers are that she will,” Deb said. “You know, time is so short and it would be really nice not to waste any more time not talking. [I’d like to] get back together and go have some fun and go celebrate life a little bit.”

Itâs bad enough that I am running the risk of running into Jenelle shipping off one of the kids to go live with some random stranger âfor their mental healthâ at the airport when I go to Florida later this year, but now I have to worry about TSA agent Debra going through my bags while she raps about their contents. Jesus God Leah!
April has every to be proud of her grandkids…Debra has ZERO right to be proud of her grandkid!!
Nova, Vaeda and Rya seem like well adjusted decent kids and NORMAL…while Sophia looks like something out of a Gothic graphic novel.

You donât know anything about Sophia other than herâgothâ appearance. That doesnât make her a bad person or anything of the sort. Sheâs using self expression. Itâs not a big deal. Judging a book by its cover isnât cool.

I refuse to believe their gonna be 18 because nope, it can’t be true.
But on the other hand… Leah will have her wish come true with having Kristina officially adopt her and become her mom. I’ve seen stories of people adopting 18 year olds so it does happen.
