One reality TV fan got quite the birthday present from Jax Taylor.
In a Cameo that was shared by the anonymous recipient with Bravo and Cocktails, the former The Valley star shared what kind of wife and mother he thinks his ex-girlfriend Stassi Schroeder is based on his viewing of her new reality show, House of Stassi.
“I think Stassi is an amazing person, I think she’s strong, I think she’s smart, I think she’s intelligent, I just don’t think she’s the best wife, um, I think Beau [Clark] deserves somebody that [sigh] just cares about his feelings a little bit more,” Jax said. “I mean, I’m the wrong person to talk when it comes about marriage, but just going from watching the show, I love the show, by the way, I think it’s amazing, um, I just think Stassi’s just very career-driven and I think she puts her husband and her kids on the backburner, that’s what I think about that, so if you’re like, if you’re career, focused on your career and you’re a boss bitch, then, you know, that’s a positive thing, you put your kids, your husband on the backburner, then it’s not a good thing, so, anyway, happy 31.”
With his own terrible relationship track record, Jax is definitely the wrong person to talk about anyone else’s marriage, but he’s far from the only one to comment on Stassi and Beau’s relationship. In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter that was released last week Stassi reflected back on the “intervention of sorts” the couple’s friends staged about their marriage in the show’s season finale.
‘Schroeder admits it’s not surprising that the conflict prompted discussion, ‘because we were both so vulnerable and didn’t hold back and showed real married couple things and issues,’” the magazine reported. “She says she and Clark have ‘had a million conversations since then, and that’s something that we continue to work on.’”
Fans have also been weighing in about the relationship on both Stassi’s and the show’s social media accounts. “coming from someone whose kids aren’t the easiest .. when you ‘cant handle’ them, you seek professional help, HIRE people to help, SPEND TIME WITH THEM, & learn how to do & be better. You don’t just dump them on your husband,” one viewer wrote. “Tbh the worst part was finding out she rather avoid her kids than deal with them because “they’re hard” loved her until this show. MOTHERHOOD IS HARD. And most of us work and are still the default parent. Be so foreal,” wrote another.
Stassi argued in The Hollywood Reporter that some of the critiques she’s received as a wife and mother are unfair because viewers have only gotten to see a small portion of her life.
“I’m bummed that a lot of the scenes with me, Beau and our kids really didn’t make it in,” she told The Hollywood Reporter. “I see the criticism online of being like, ‘Stassi’s a bad mom’ or whatever. I’m like, ‘You didn’t even see me parent. You didn’t even see a scene with me being a mom. So how could you even say that?’”
As one of the show’s producers, though, Stassi seemingly had say in what viewers saw, according to an interview ‘House of Stassi’ executive producers <strong>David Marker and Renata Lombardo did with US Weekly.
“There’s a handful of scenes that really stand out, but I think at the beginning of this journey, Stassi said to us, ‘I’m going to bleed out for this show,’” Renata told the outlet. “She knew she had to go there. If she wasn’t going to deliver at that level, the audience was not going to accept.”
Jax dated Stassi for three years. Their relationship and its aftermath (including the revelation that Jax cheated on Stassi with her then-BFF Kristen Doute) brought quite a bit of drama to the first few seasons of Vanderpump Rules. Stassi married Beau in 2020 after two years of dating. The couple are parents to Hartford, 5, and Messer, who turns 3 next month. Jax began dating former ‘Vanderpump Rules’ and ‘The Valley’ costar Brittany Cartwright in 2015. The couple married in 2019, welcomed son Cruz in 2021 and separated in 2024. Their divorce has yet to be finalized.
At press time there was no comment on Jax’s Cameo from Stassi, Beau or Brittany.
