Brittany Cartwright is speaking out about her estranged husband Jax Taylor’s newly confirmed relationship with her (now) former publicist Lori Krebs, with ‘The Valley’ star insisting that Jax and Lori “have to be absolutely miserable.”
As you may know, Jax confirmed his romance with Lori last month after the two were photographed together while on vacation in Mexico. Shortly after the PDA pics surfaced, Brittany reportedly fired Lori as her publicist.
In a new interview with People, Brittany– who shares five-year-old son Cruz with Jax– slammed her ex’s new relationship, calling Jax a “narcissist” and accusing him and Lori of taking advantage of her.
“I never wish bad for anybody, but they have to be absolutely miserable,” Brittany told the outlet. “And I hope they are … I feel like I was taken advantage [of] by those two individuals, and it is sick.”
While Brittany went on to refer to Jax as a “snake” and a person with no feelings, she also insisted that her ex “needs a mommy”– something Jax seems to have found with Lori, allegedly before the couple went public with their partnership.
“Jax straight up told [redacted] that he had slept with Lori,” Brittany said, suggesting that there may have been some truth to the past rumors that Jax and Lori had crossed a line in their professional relationship.
Although Brittany (and Jax) vehemently denied the Jax and Lori rumors at the time– with Brittany even referring to Lori as “a very good friend” on her podcast– she’s now admitting that Lori’s behavior was often less-than professional.
Brittany claimed she’s “never seen another publicist want to be the center of attention like [Lori] did.”
Despite the past rumors and any suspicious behavior she may have witnessed, a source told Daily Mail that Brittany was “completely blindsided” by the news of Jax and Lori’s relationship, as Lori wasn’t just the exes’ shared publicist for years, she was also “deeply embedded in their entire world.”
As Bravo fans know, Jax exited ‘The Valley’ after Season 2 to focus on his sobriety and mental health. While he’s maintained a lower profile in recent months, the former ‘Vanderpump Rules’ star is reportedly eyeing a return to the series. According to Daily Mail, however, Brittany isn’t on-board with the idea, nor is she willing to appear on-camera with Jax if he is invited back to the show.
“Most of the cast are backing her up on this, even the people she isn’t getting along with,” a source told the outlet. “They understand why she’s so upset and why she doesn’t want to be around Jax.”
Jax also appears to be aware of Brittany’s unwillingness to welcome him back into ‘The Valley’ fold, as he recently accused her on social media of doing things to affect his ability to earn a living. Jax made this comment (among others) after Brittany called him out on her When Reality Hits podcast for posting a fake ad for Smartwater on social media.
After being called out for his bogus water campaign, Jax claimed on Instagram that he had unknowingly accepted the unauthorized brand deal and insisted that he “would never intentionally misrepresent a partnership.” He went on to claim that it was “more upsetting” to see Brittany take his “honest mistake” and turn it into “an attempt to humiliate [him].”
“My ex-wife chose to publicly mock me and embarrass me instead of handling it privately,” Jax wrote. “Regardless of where we stand personally, we’re still the parents of a young child and there should be a certain level of respect. I’ve stayed quiet for a long time out of respect for her as the mother of our son. It hasn’t been easy not having a voice, especially when so much has been said publicly about me.”
“What hurts the most is feeling like no matter how hard I work to rebuild my life, move forward or earn new opportunities, there are constant attempts to tear those opportunities away,” he continued. “Brittany has directly contacted networks and brands in an effort to stop me from working and to prevent me from getting opportunities affecting my ability [to] earn a living.”
Jax– who was later accused by Brittany and Kristen Doute of using AI to prove that he had been duped into posting the Smartwater content– went on to claim that he “never wanted to make any of this public,” but insisted that he could no longer stay silent due to Brittany continuing to “lie about so many things.”
As fans of ‘The Valley’ know, Brittany filed for divorce from Jax in August 2024 following a six-month separation. Their divorce has yet to be finalized.
